    My goto action cam
The GoPro Hero 10 is a compact and durable action camera that can capture high-quality footage in a range of environments. Some of the positive aspects of the camera include its lightweight design, making it easy to carry on the go. Additionally, it features built-in stabilisation, which ensures that your footage remains smooth and steady, even when you’re in motion. Another standout feature is its touch screen display, which allows for easy navigation and preview of your shots.

However, there are also a few downsides to the GoPro Hero 10. One issue is the battery life, which can be quite short if you’re using the camera frequently. Additionally, some users have reported that the camera can struggle in low-light conditions, resulting in grainy or dark footage.

Despite these drawbacks, the GoPro Hero 10 is a solid choice for anyone looking for an action camera. With its high-quality video capabilities and durable design, it’s sure to provide you with great footage, no matter what your adventures may bring.

Gopro, the best in the game!
Ive had a few gopro’s in the past, decided to buy the 10 considering the price difference to the 11, havn’t used it properly yet so cant comment.
Gopro are the best in the action cam game. You wont be dissapointed in buying especially if you get it at a reduced cost like i did.

    Great camera
My first GoPro, made some great videos with it, however the battery doesn’t last too long, especially if the temperature drops a bit, it says like 40%, then turns off saying it is flat.
Apart from that, I would highly recommend it.

Great camera, the only issue I have is that when buying something with 5k picture I did’t think that I’ll need powerfull PC to do something with the video’s. So if you think 400 and you can have great video think again to add 1000 for PC that will edit the video

    An amazing little camera.
GoPro Hero 10 is a feature packed little camera. It’s so packed with features to tweak that, a lot of people have misunderstood it. I’ve had it for about 2 months now. It takes time to learn what tweaks to make on various settings to suit needs. I’ve used it with a very good gimbal.

Hypersmooth 4.0 is one of the enhanced features that is said to avoid the need for a gimbal. It can work fine without a gimbal but Hypersmooth on highest settings tends to crop down the full expanse of video taken. So I went for the combination of gimbal plus lowest Hypersmooth. I won’t go through all the settings here – because there are too many.

Hero 10 really excels in sharpness of video taken. My videos in 4K taken on my bike, riding around where I live become so interesting. An unexpected effect of the sharpness and quality is a 3D effect when video is taken with me riding through cycle lanes. Like when I pass trees and bushes it feels like 3D when watching those videos. I see the outlines of leaves and trees better than when I’m riding. So I’ve ended up looking at my videos several times.

The standard battery that comes with it is not great especially if taking video in high bitrates and at greater than 30fps. There is a better battery available for it, that gives about 20% more lifetime. It is best to carry spare batteries.

For such a small camera to take such crystal clear video is quite amazing considering that there is no movement of lenses to focus. Yet the depth of field is still very good for most indoor video. For outdoor video depth of field hardly matters.

I have taken photographs with it. Those are not much better than with a 108Mpixel mobile phone camera. So the Hero 10’s real strength exceeding most mobile phones, is in the department of video.

Video that’s longer than about 5 min gets broken up into files of about 4GB each, but that’s not noticeable on playback, or uploading to the GoPro media platform. It’s a good thing they are broken up in the background in case of a software crash (never had one) or battery dies unexpectedly.

If you’re considering buying a Hero 10, consider your uses first.

Excellent quality - a much needed upgrade
GoPro Hero 10 works really well – would advise using with a 128gb Micro SD from either Samsung or SanDisk. The camera works best with U3 V30 cards and will warn you about performance issues should you use anything less.

Really nice camera. The image stability is far better than any other phone out there. Not so great as an Iphone in the dark but apart from that I’m impressed. You’ll need to buy some accessories straight away as without them its kind meah. Also spare batteries.

    Really high quality action cam
The colours are really rich and bright as well as super stabilisation with horizon levelling. The touchscreen is very responsive and surprisingly smooth. You can now set custom quick shooting modes to easily switch between preset FPS and quality which is very useful. Nice fast transfer speed as well. The camera can get quite warm during transfer but and the battery won’t last long. But usual every day use the battery is fine. The final touches I really like are the built in feet and front screen allowing you to seeing what your filming. A very good purchase if you have the money although caht say its worth it if you already have the 9

    Easy to use
I was reluctant to buy it when I read some of the reviews but glad I did. I’ve recorded some great memories of our summer holiday this year. The editing app is easy to use. You will need 2 spare batteries as they don’t last long.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGoPro HERO10 black
So the description states this is a:-
GoPro HERO10 black. Waterproof action camera with front LCD and touch rear screens. 5.3K60 Ultra HD video, 23mp photos, 1080p Live streaming, webcam, stabilization.

Firstly remember to order a memory card, this camera can hold up to a 512gb micro SD card.
The memory card needs to be inserted next to the battery. With the USB C charger port. This camera is waterproof, so it does take a bit of time to open the compartment where the battery is situated, but that’s for the best really as you do want to keep it waterproof.

What i Really really like is that it automatically up loads to the cloud storage with WiFi. The GoPro Subscription required.

I suppose one big down side to be able to get the full experience of this go pro is you have to have a subscription and down load the Quic app.
    Otherwise your limited.

The two screens are for:- Status + Live Preview Front Screen and Rear Touch Screen.

Its like seeing a kid with a new toy for both myself and my other half because the comparison is none really. This really is a pieace of work.

I’m no professional photographer, but the photos I have took, I do say so myself are unbelievable.

I know it’s going to take time to get the best and the full experience, of what this camera can do. But I’m extremely pleased so far.
For such a little camera it’s packed with all the top quality features…

I’m no tech minded person, that’s can go into detail sadly, so I have added some of the things it does and has below….

*** Live Streaming at 1080p and Webcam Mode.
*** TimeWarp 3.0, Time Lapse, and Night Lapse Modes.
    *** Slow-mo:- 8x at 2.7k.
*** Video stabilisation:- HyperSmooth 4.0 (All Modes) + Horizon Leveling On Camera and GoPro App.
*** New GP2 chip shoots 5.3K video with double the frame rate,
*** 23MP photos + SuperPhoto with HDR and RAW Photo Capture.
    *** Enhanced low-light performance,
    *** Bar-shattering,
    *** HyperSmooth 4.0 video stabilization,
*** Additional features:- Hindsight, Scheduled Capture, Duration Capture, LiveBurs.
*** GoPro subscription and the Quik app.

I litterly am converted and will be useing this as my go to – go pro camera from now on.

    So far so good
But I will update this review if needed.

    *** Details:-
    * Camcorder type:- Action Camera
    * Brand:- GoPro
    * Model name:- HERO10 Black
    * Special feature:- Waterproof, Low Light

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersA Fantastic Do All Camera That's Ideal For Extreme Sports... Or Even Family Holidays
Once free of the cardboard outer packaging (pleased to see no plastic packaging here), this first off all feels very premium for a rugged, go anywhere camera. I guess it should do given the asking price, but it was still a surprise to feel the soft touch rubber frontage. Everything is extremely well put together and there is a reassuring solidity to it. The battery compartment (where you’ll find the battery, Micro SD card slot and the USB C port) takes a bit of fingernail effort to pull down and open, but that is the price you pay for watertightness.

A micro SD card is not included so will need to be purchased separately and given the high resolution choices that this GoPro offers, I would get the largest one you can afford as file sizes can be pretty epic. The camera also tells me to use a V30 or higher card to maximise performance

You have to update the camera prior to using it and you will also need to download the GoPro Quik app. I’m using Android and had no problems and it talks you through it all. I love that you can now USB C hard connect your phone/laptop to the camera directly so as to transfer images over. I’m pretty sure that Apple users will need an adaptor or seperate cable though.

I’m impressed at the boot up time. From holding the power button down you are ready to go in maybe 2 seconds or so which is perfect for those “Quick! I need a camera!” moments.

The touch screen is responsive and navigation snappy and logical with swipes to access sub menus and presses to change settings. If you short press the power button you can cycle quickly through Photo/Video/Time Lapse modes.

You get one sticky mount included (which I think is a bit mean), but obviously there are tonnes of harnesses, head mounts and other mounts available to purchase both official and third party.

This little camera then, really is a jack of all trades and though it is obviously associated with the active extreme lifestyles, I’d argue that alongside your smartphone camera (obviously), this makes the perfect family camera.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersNot perfect but good enough
NOTE – This camera needs an SD card (not included) in order to work and I purchased a 256Gb SanDisk Extreme SD card from Amazon for this purpose. Also, for this review I’m using the camera with an iPhone XS (for the setup Quik app software) and a 2017 MacBook Pro 13-inch for importing the videos and photos.

So included in the box are the GoPro camera itself, a battery, a 3-part screw mount for attaching the camera to a surface such as a cycle helmet, etc. There is also a 45cm USB-A to USB-C cable for both charging and transferring files to a computer and a large carrying case. In terms of documentation all you get are a Quickstart Guide and a product safety booklet. If you want the 153 page User Manual then you’ll need to download it from the gopro.com website. I’d certainly recommend this as it goes into the camera’s features, functions and settings in some detail. It’s also very useful for suggesting what settings to use in different situations, e.g. indoor, outdoor, cycling, aerial, etc.

With that out of the way the first thing to do is pop the battery into the camera, insert a suitable SD card then connect the camera to a power source to charge the battery. Next, download the Quik app to your phone so that you can update the camera’s software. Note the app has various In-App Purchases which are subscriptions to either GoPro or Quik for different periods but which are unnecessary for the camera’s initial setup. I had a few glitches with the app downloading and installing the updated software to the camera but after about an hour it was all done and the camera was ready for use.

Navigating through the camera’s controls and settings is done by a very responsive and fairly intuitive rear touchscreen. By default it will show various icons around the edge to indicate battery life, stabilisation status, resolution (e.g. ‘Standard/4K/60’), view mode (16mm, 16-34mm etc), slo-mo/Normal and so on. Tapping on any one of these icons will bring up options to adjust the setting so if you tap on the icon saying ‘Standard 4K/30/SV’ you can then change to various presets and modes. It’s all very easy and the User Manual gives you plenty of suggestions as to what settings are best for different occasions. Needless to say the standard setting of 4K 60fps or even 4K 30fps will return you good video quality in normal daylight for most things. If you want to take slo-mo video then changing up to 4K @ 120fps provides excellent results with smooth action. Taking a video of me walking a rough path in the nearby hills, I found the built-in stabilisation pretty decent, better than I’d get with my iPhone, however if you want the best in stabilisation you might want to turn stabilisation off and use something like ReelSteady in post processing instead and that brings me on to one of this camera’s strengths. Unlike the iPhone which will tend to process and enhance your video on the fly, this camera will let you use a fairly flat colour profile such as ‘Natural’ so that you can then concentrate on getting it looking exactly how you want with colour grading etc., once you’ve imported it to your computer for editing.

The camera also features a small screen on the front and while it’s not a touchscreen, it’s good for seeing what the camera sees when you’re in selfie mode. You can of course also control the camera remotely through the Quik app on your phone if that’s easier and once you’ve got the initial setup out of the way the app is quite responsive. One annoyance though was that several times the Quik app insisted I logged in before using it, plus it would take maybe up to 15 seconds to find the camera, once done though the controls worked well. As soon as the app finds the camera it detects any new footage or images and offers to download them to your phone which is handy although I preferred to move files to my computer as it has more space and 4K video does start to eat up space quickly. Another nice feature is the ability to schedule video start/stop so if you wanted to take a time-lapse video for example you could set this all to happen automatically and then just let the camera do its thing at the allotted time. Something else I wasn’t really expecting was the quality of stills taken from video @ 5.3K 60fps, they were nice and sharp and made for great action shots – this would be great if you’re filming your kids.

So far so good, but there are a few things that could be a little better. Battery life for one thing – just mucking around with the camera looking at settings etc., and not even taking video, the battery dropped from 99% to 85% in 15 minutes as well as the device getting quite warm and while taking video it does get even hotter. Also in low light situations I found footage to be a little grainy even with the upgraded GP2 processor. Getting images and videos on to your Mac was a case of connecting the camera to the laptop then opening the macOS Image Capture program and importing the new media – easy enough.

One question you might be asking is whether it’s worth getting the GoPro Hero 10 if you already have a modern iPhone or are planning to purchase an iPhone 13 Pro for example. I’d say that whilst the iPhone is an impressive tool, the specs on the GoPro are great for such a small package 5K and superior video stabilisation but that’s not the whole story. The latest iPhone has much better battery life and low-light performance so I’d suggest you find footage from both and compare them then decide what your priorities and then decide.

Overall I like the GoPro Hero 10. It’s not perfect with room for improvement on battery life and low light performance, but it’s a nice compact and robust package with responsive controls and good output in most situations and I would be more inclined to mount it in places where I’d hesitate to put an expensive phone. Yes if you want short, out of the box good looking videos without any work then a modern iPhone will probably suffice. However, if you want longer videos and you’re willing to invest the time in post-processing then this little gadget can produce great results and I’d have few reservations in recommending it.

Golden Review Award: 36 From Our UsersDecent action camera; lots of fun to use
For context: I’m a long term (professional) stills photographer, but this is my first action camera – and, in fact, my first video-oriented camera.

When first turning the camera on, it needed to connect to a network and run an upgrade before first use, but didn’t have enough battery to run that update. So, you should allow a couple of hours charge the battery before turning it on for the first time. The battery/card compartment door, especially to start with, is *extremely* stiff, and I bent back a fingernail opening it before getting the knack. The basic pack ships without the necessary Micro SD card; I put in one I had lying around but had errors on turning on each time because the card wasn’t fast enough for all recording modes. No problem; it wasn’t expensive to order a fast 128 GB SanDisk card.

Those teething problems out the way, the camera’s very easy to use. The touch screen is extremely responsive and I found the menus and functions intuitive to navigate. (I had, however, reviewed a couple of YouTube ‘how to’ videos before receiving the camera). The little camera is robust and definitely has no problem at all with heavy rain showers or light submersion.

While it only came with one clip to hold it (presumably to save waste with those who are upgrading), there are many, many reasonably priced accessories for attaching the camera anywhere you could think of for good views of the action. It has a small sensor, and as such struggles in lower light conditions. However, in good light it produces vibrant, sharp footage at high resolutions. The stabilisation is absolutely fantastic, with the camera producing images free from jolts and shakes even when running.

I’ve so far used the camera to produce TimeWarp (moving time lapse) , 30 fps and 60 fps footage whilst running and cycling of up to 40 minutes at a time, with the battery lasting at least that long, and no signs at all of overheating (a number of tests I’ve watched by YouTubers suggest there is no overheating issue in typical use as long as there is airflow over the camera). I’ve also shot some short slow-motion clips at 120 fps and 240 fps, and am really impressed by the results.

So, in good light and whilst moving, this is an absolutely fantastic little camera and I’m 100% sure I’m going to continue having a lot of fun with it.

Golden Review Award: 45 From Our UsersGP10 running firmware v1.50
It’s amazing what GoPro can fit into such a small case. Pros: amazing stabilisation, a large choice of resolutions up to 5.3k, front selfie screen, good internal mics, waterproof without case, horizon levelling, the list goes on!

A significant upgrade since the GoPro 7 black. This camera, with the latest firmware hasn’t glitched, locked up or overheated since purchased. I’ve fitted the Samsung pro plus (blue) 128gb micro SD card as heard SanDisk ones have not been perfect with the GP10.

Obviously if you intend to edit 5.3k footage you’d be foolish to think a low end pc will cut the mustard. But 4k and 1080 should be fine on most decent computers.

Cons: Not actually come across any yet after a few weeks of using the camera, but will update if this changes.

From reading up on any issues people have had it always seems to boil down to a slow SD card or not updating the firmware correctly (both simple steps which will make the camera run flawlessly)

I’ve come from a GoPro 7 black, so fully aware of glitches and lock ups! This camera has none.

    Would recommend.
