I was looking to get a hose whether self winder or this where its manual wound back, it was extremely easy to set it up as you have to fit the fittings all provided, no leaks and looks great imo, I placed it up higher than some as with back injury I can’t bend so needed something like this to have easy use.
I’ve used it now 5 times and I remove from the wall after use and place in the shed as the side of house isn’t secure,its also surprisingly light and easily removed, I’ve used it along with a Karcher K4, ive cleaned the patio, side walk way and house front, where the hose has worked perfectly and when windingback in leaving the water on makes it a dream to wind back and once you just keep an eye on where it’s winding inside the adjuster you move as you wind and no issues whatsoever…
I’ve had hozelock hoses previous and never had any issues other than my 2 labs back then ate the whole winder/hose reel which was the one on wheels. One is still in use I bought in my fathers near 20 years ago.
The pain on the window sill in the photo has since been stripped using the pressure washer…..

This has been a great addition when needing a hose. All is tidied away until you need it. Just be aware that the hose carriage can become detached from its axle if the spring clip lets go. Use a small (width) cable tie between the two arches of the clamp.

Great product that does a great job. I noticed a few comments about some people having issues with the hose jamming inside. I have used this product a lot so far and I find that keeping the water on from the tap but turned off at the nozzle while you wind it in then turn off at the tap leads no such issues (for me at least)

The unit required quite an amount of self assembly with useless instructions , but the biggest problem was that the main body of the hose reel had not been assembled properly at the factory , which prevented the little yellow slider from sliding properly preventing the hose from winding properly on the drum. Had to disassemble the main body to fix which was very difficult due to the screws being recessed several inches inside the body . Also when installing, the small rawlplugs were insufficient to hold the reel onto the wall so fitted it to a wooden plate and screwed that to the wall with more substantial rawlplugs.
Some advice I can give to others purchasing this product:
Once assembled fill the hosepipe with water before trying to wind it on the reel, this prevents kinking the hose.
Install the handle on the side you want it once it is mounted as it cannot be changed once installed.
There is an arrow indicating which way to turn the reel to wind it in, if it feels difficult to turn stop you are probably winding it the wrong way.
I suggest checking quickly how it will look once mounted, then you can see also if hose will be wound clockwise or anti clockwise to reel it in depending which side you install the handle, also check distance from the tap and that it does not block your way once mounted.
If you read the instructions carefully it does all work, it comes supplied with 25m of hose although you will need to cut off a small piece to reach from the tap to where you mount it, unless you have an extra piece lying around for this purpose.
I have installed and mounted it and it works as described, the great thing is that come winter I can just unclip it from its mounting and pack it away for storage until next Summer.

I bought this Hose a few years ago and I’m glad I did. It’s the best one I have ever bought, it’s so handy to use, I’m very pleased with it, it’s definitely a very good purchase.

I got there in the end and worked it out in my head mostly as the instructions for assembly weren’t that great,in 1 picture on the assembly it looks like it’s telling you to unwind fully and cut off 1.5m at the reel end, clearly that wasn’t going to work so I basically give up at that point with instructions but got it all working,my mother loves it as it’s long, just make sure you run water through it fully unwound, that’s importa
This is the best hose storage solution, bar none. Tidy, easy to use, doesn’t tangle up etc etc. Take your time assembling it, if you put the handle on the wrong side (for your needs) it doesn’t come off again and so you will be stuck with it in that configuration. Excellent product and the best price I have seen. I bought another straight away. Everything you need is supplied, full fixing kit, screws and adapters to join it to any outside tap system on your property. Very happy indeed, no more untidy hoses or folds and blockages in the hose itself – just remember to roll it back on with the water still turned on, fully retract the hose and then turn the tap off. Great product supplied exactly as promised and on time.
Easy to set up and attach to the wall. This hose has good length and doesnt tend to leak. I do find it very easily tangles and can be hard to easily wind and unwind. It’s not a quick process and needs care, but overall, it is quality and we have gotten good use from it.

I always think Hoxelock products are way overpriced, but this product fares well price wise against similar makes. I found it easy to assemble, but that’s maybe because I had one before which was exactly the same. The old one lasted me about 12 years before the hose got some holes in it. This only happened after some builders I employed used it, so I think it would have lasted longer. I treat it with respect because the plastic casing isn’t overly strong. It’s much easier to wind and unwind if the unit is attached to the wall. Otherwise you would have to hold the unit while doing this. I just hold the pipe and move it back and forth while rewinding so it goes in evenly and never use the front handle as I think it’s harder doing it that way. So I wind with one hand and move the pipe back and forth with the other. Providing it’s not bashed about it should last for years as my other one did.

I settled on buying this as I have ra and other disabilities
(it was this or the fast reel, but reading reviews and realising you couldn’t open it to replace with a new hose if needed, along with the fact it was very expensive and was not ‘auto reel’, it become a no no).
This free standing hose hit the spot as not much to assemble to be honest. Watched the video and just took my time.
I did have issues unreeling the hose after unboxing from the huge cardboard box it arrived in, it somehow had got a bit tangled and yes, did leave me in more pain, but after that? not a problem at all.
– nice smart grey and orange/yellow ‘hose box’, nice yellow hose and a perfect length if you need more hose.
It came with all the bits and pieces needed, which I checked first before putting it together – does include screws and a wall bracket – which was a bonus considering I ordered the fee standing version, just nice to know that it can be attached to the wall if required. Video and instructions printed on the box easy to follow.
Winding handle is good, but, I will need to wrap some wool around the very small gap where the handle attaches to the main winding arm, as it kept pinching the skin between thumb and finger
– other than that? winds well with the help also of moving the thingy jig that allows the hose to be reel more evenly, found it hard, but all in all, small price to pay.
(bear in mind, lots of things are harder if you spend much of your time in a w.chair and in a lot of pain constantly)
It attached to the brass connecter that I got for my outdoor tap perfectly.
(used to use it on my indoor mixer tap, where I have the adapter bought long ago, but fixes great to a single mixer tap if you haven’t got an outdoor tap, plus easy to find and buy and fit on your tap),
but, I will probably continue using it on the outdoor tap.
Was considering buying a new spray gun as my one is broken, but to be honest, the spray ‘gun’ that is supplied does a good job for what I want.
All in all, a really good hose, pretty easy to assemble, slightly larger hose box than my really old hoselock one and a bit heavier, but smart looking and does the job – hope it lasts and hope this review maybe helps others.
