Recording
Can not get it to record from movement onto sd card.
Customer service has been 10 out of10 dealing with the issue on the video recording on the camera. They replyed straight away to my questions and gave me options on how to resolve, more effort here from a small company than ive had dealing with larger companies that dont care. Well done igeek.
Great PTZ camera
I’m very impressed with the WiFi range as it made it very easy to install. Picture quality is excellent and the PTZ feature is so good through the app. You also have the option for full colour vision when motion detected when dark which works really well.
Very happy with purchase.
Purchased this camera following a colleague having brought one a few weeks back and being impressed by what it offers. It doesn’t disappoint and performs exactly as intended and described. Camera is secured by 2 screws and comes with a template to accurately drill the holes. The solar panel is secured by a further 3 screws and just plugs into the camera to power it. I installed a 128gb SD card to allow more memory for saving images/videos. I did have to adjust the setting on my virgin router from 5ghz to 2.4ghz as explained in the product description to make it compatible with my wifi network. This was probably the hardest part of the whole operation as the router setting password is located on the bottom of the router and different to the network password (this has nothing to do with the IGEEK product itself).
I initially installed the camera high up on a gable end and the wifi signal was not strong enough, so i relocated closer to the router. After adjusting some of the notification settings on my phone it eventually allowed the app to ping my phone with each alarm activation. The app is quite straight forward and easy to use to setup the camera perameters. Once set up (which didnt take long) the images are clear and smooth. The LED light is bright and the alarm is loud. The tannoy feature is also very good for speaking from the camera. All in all very happy with purchase so fa
Security
The camera is good quality it has lots of functions to suit your needs . Excellent picture quality. I really like the 360 viewing it provides.
The only thing is the solar panel is a bit small .
Overall it is a great bit of kit .
Great value and great quality
Super easy to put up. Super easy to set up. We had an iGeek previously, but I dropped it, so we upgraded and this is a much better product. Previously, I had to keep taking the old camera down to charge it, but with the solar feature, this is much better.
EXCELLENT PIECE OF KIT - REALLY GOOD PRICE AND EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE
We have bought over the last 20 months 5 different IGeek products and have recommended to friends and family.
This little camera we use for my elderly relatively to monitor the hall so we can be sure she has not fallen and is up and about throughout the day. It’s unobtrusive has intercom and is very reasonably priced, and is easy to set up. In a recent incident I was able to direct paramedics over the intercom.
We had reason to contact IGeek about one of our cameras as we were having charging issues – their customer service was excellent and they actually replaced the product in a timely manner even though we had had it 11 months. Rare to have such excellent service and an excellent product – well done IGeek.
360 camera
Bought this for security for the front of my house & it was so easy to set up. Plus fitting to the position I wanted on the side of the house was really easy easy plus it’s solar panelled for keeping the battery charged up. I charge the battery via usb first so it has a full battery & a head start on the solar panel just incase we don’t have very good weather. The picture is clear and everything works very well. For the price I’m very impressed & happy.
Great reasonably priced camera and excellent customer service
I purchased an ieGeek floodlight camera for my backyard but there was a problem with the charging connector and I couldn’t charge it after 6 months of use. I have written to ieGeek customer support and they were able to assist me with troubleshooting, eventually, they have arranged a new camera replacement of an alternative camera because this one was out of stock with a speedy delivery before Christmas which was quite impressive.
I already have 4 ieGeek cameras at home and would gladly continue to use them in the future.
Great Value
Easy to install. Very easy to operate. The choice of settings is fantastic and perfect for my needs. The spread of light is amply sufficient for my garden – about 12m x 7m.
Very impressed, especially for the price!
The camera is well made and is easy to hook up to home WiFi. Installation is straight forward. However, the solar panel is pretty much useless in autumn/winter. Had to buy a 5 metre USB to type C cable to keep the camera working during the short, cloudy days of autumn and winter.
Great camera at an affordable price
Did not know what to expect for the price, but this is a great camera. Extremely easy to set up on the app as it guides you through the steps needed to install and get working. Simple to customise to my needs, picture is clear and crisp and has fantastic motion detection. Solar panel works well keeping the power supply constant even in cloudy weather. So happy with my purchase that I bought another one for the back garden. I am confident that my home is now well protected.
Fantastic produc
I love this product, and was offered by GBP 1,500 from the CCTV dealer, but I changed to this device.
Installation and set up – very easy and quick.
Operation wise :
It gives an alert with its image which has made me check the situation, and keeps being charged by solar.
You could change the camera view by mobile phone and watch anytime, and much more.
So I installed the 2nd unit in the office, too, which made me save about GBP 2,880 for two units.
To whom are going to look for CCTV – do not waste your money on very expensive CCTV system,
instead, try this device. Will not regret at all.
I bought this for the front of my house after we had an attempted break in and I have to say I am really impressed, really easy to set up and the app is user friendly with some great features, the quality of black and white night vision is amazing and the quality of the full clout might vision is outstanding it’s just like viewing in day light, I have not experienced any false alarms, battery level holds at around 80 to 90% using the solar panel. Instant alerts to your phone gives peace of mind while out of the house and the loud siren alert at night if anyone come near my house is loud enough to scare anyone away and wake me up. I have bought one with motion tracking for my back yard. No this review is no sponsored it’s just my honest opinion.
I purchased this camera as a back up to my doorbell camera after it picked up a intruder trying the front door at 3.20 am on a Sunday morning. It only caught him as he tried the door handle and then walking down the driveway.
Whereas with this wireless camera it captures anyone walking past and also anyone coming up the driveway. It was easy to set up and the added bonus was the solar panel which takes away the need of taking the camera down to charge.
It also as a audible alarm and flashing light if it detects an intruder. I don’t think that would go down well with the neighbours.
It can record in both colour and black and white. You can chose what you want.
Overall an excellent camera and iam in the process another for the side and back of the house.
Purchased 3 of these cameras and am really happy with them. Very easy to install and set up. Had to make some slight tweaks to one of them and their customer service has been very helpful and prompt to reply.
Would recommend getting the solar panels as then there is no need to charge them – while I was playing around with the settings on one of them I hadn’t realised I’d set it so was picking up loads of unwanted stuff which greatly reduced the battery – typically it was the one that was mounted most difficult to reach so was very thankful I didn’t have to mess around charging it up again! It charged up again very quickly once I’d realised and changed the parameters.
Also have used one of these cameras as an alternative to a doorbell camera as I couldn’t see a solar version of these available and again didn’t want to charge or have wired in. Great sound and picture quality and you can use a 2 way intercom – so no need for the doorbell product as I was happy with the one I already have.
After doing much research and debating I’m very pleased I choose these cameras. Btw you don’t need to purchase the cloud subscription, they will work without it and without the SD card, however I recommend doing it as the recording time is longer with it and you’ve got longer to view and save your recordings. Again, went with the subscription rather than SD cards for ease of use as didn’t want to have to be removing and formatting the cards when they got full – but if you’re cameras are in easily accessible positions then this would be the cheaper option – although requires more time and effort on your part.
There are so many security cameras around, it’s impossible for the average person to know which is best. I looked at reviews on many sites, which only seemed to make it a more complicated choice. However, this ieGeek 2K cam, although never in the top 3 of any reviews, kept being mentioned, so when it appeared on Amazon at a very reasonable price, I decided to go for it. I have to say, it has not disappointed me in any way. From initial setup to sorting out the app, connecting to wifi, etc – really easy. As for the picture quality – it’s just exceptional. But best of all, it does exactly what it should do. It records human movement, lights up movement at night, and sends out a deterrent alarm in the dark if it detects someone in its path. What more could you want? All this for such an amazingly low price. If, like me, you’re not over-technically mined and simply want an affordable alarm/camera/security system, I would highly recommend you give this a go.
It’s easy peasy to set this up – you just follow simple instructions and find somewhere appropriate to attach it. I screwed it to the underside of a bedroom window sill at the front of my property.
It monitors the whole driveway and front garden, sending alerts to my phone whenever someone comes onto our premises.
Checking the video footage is simple and you can choose to store it or delete. I have huge storage capacity as I loaded a scan disk memory card directly into the camera.
Tho solar panel seems to keep the camera battery virtually fully charged, so no messy wiring job. It easily picked up the wifi signal from my router even though its downstairs at the rear of the property.
What’s not to like !!!
Excellent floodlight camera - doesn't require any plugs.
This is my first iegeek camera. I have had many wifi cameras over the years and this beats them all my a long way.
Very easy and simple to setup using the app. Video quality is excellent and is wide angle so captures the driveway and garden which is a bonus. The floodlight comes on when a person is detected, great brightness. Alerts are very accurate and records to the SD card when motion is detected. All the recordings can be played back in the app.
I installed the camera with 86% battery and connected up the solar panel. It has been up for less than 24 hours and has had no sun exposure. In fact, the next several days are forecast to be cloudy. So far the battery has used 1% in 20 hours without any sunshine and has had a lot of ‘wake up time’. So I imagine the solar panel will be sufficient to keep the camera running all year round without the need to charge it. I love that you can view electricity usage statistics, useful insights for nerds.
I will update this review if the camera ever runs out of power, if not, you can assume it is still going strong.
So, I returned home from holiday and noticed a few things had disappeared from my garden. This spurred me to purchase a video camera to monitor the property.
I did a fair amount of research and was looking for a wire free option as the house I live in rented…I didn’t want to start drilling holes everywhere and running wires through walls and window frames!
At last found a few options that suited my needs. This one however stood out; it comes with a solar panel so I don’t need to plug any other power supply in…its totally self contained.
The solar panel is quite small so was un sure how well it would charge the battery. I needn’t have worried….it charges the camera perfectly well….its not been particularly sunny of late and the battery level is maintained around 60 to 67% by the solar panel.
Set up is extremely easy…plug it in, scan the QR code and follow the instructions…couldn’t be more straightforward; it was literally 3 minutes and it was done.
Three screws each for the camera and the solar panel and its now mounted above the front door..another 5 minutes. So maximum 10 minutes and it’s installed and running.
The app works great too…can monitor the camera from work or anywhere else via my smartphone.
I put in a 128gb sdhc micro card for hard copy recordings as well as signing up for the free week of cloud storage…..I’ll certainly sign up for a storage plan, just unsure of which one will suit me.
The camera itself is very well made of decent quality materials and the LED is plenty bright enough to cover the front of my property at night.
Picture quality is great with a 2K sensor but you can also use an SD stream for lower data usage if needed. Either way the picture quality is good enough for car reg identification or recognising faces …no blurry images here!
There is also a siren but haven’t had cause to use it ….its reasonably loud, certainly loud enough to act as a deterrent.
To summarise this is a great camera that ticks all the boxes and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to anyone in the market for a security camera and floodlight.
The ieGeek camera comes in a good retail box with all the contents nicely organised and protected with foam. The camera and accessories look to be of good quality. Setup is straightforward with clear paper instructions as well as the app. Easy to fit outside, with 3 screws for the camera and 3 for the solar panel
Picture quality is very good, both during the day and at night (colour if used with the floodlight, which is bright for a battery operated light). Notifications to a mobile phone are quick and they are captured most of the time; the camera has missed some, which may be when the app is not running on the phone.
Video clips are saved to a micro SD card (not included with the camera, but a 128GB one can be purchased for around 12 at the time of writing) so there is no monthly cost. Clips are organised by day and time so it’s easy to find the one you want on the app. You can also take snapshot pictures of the video or separately.
Live view takes a few seconds to appear and you can record the video and take screenshots in the app, as well as turn on the floodlight and siren. It does fail to connect on the odd occasion, but it does work if you retry. If you have an Amazon Echo Show, you can view the camera live on it (live only, with no access to history). However, I found it only works on the CloudEdge app and not the ieGeek one (app looks the same and has the same functionality).
The solar panel requires full sun in order to charge the camera. In February it has managed to keep the battery topped up to full. The battery drains slowly (depending on use) so even if there are a number of cloudy days it should still keep working.
Overall, I am happy with the camera. One thing which is missing and would be useful is the ability to access the camera on a web browser.
Fantastic floodlight security camera!
The build quality of this camera is excellent, I t feels solid and sturdy. The addition of the flood lights is an excellent upgrade on the usual security cameras I have had in the past. The lights are surprisingly bright and there is an option to turn them down in the app which is useful if they are likely to cause a disturbance to your neighbors.
I haven’t had any false alerts which I was with the camera this one replaces, and every time I have passed within its range, I have received an alert. The monitoring range is very good and the 2K picture quality is good and clear even at night.
Set up was easy even though I am not very technically minded, I just followed the instructions on the App which I found very clear.
It is great to be able to site it anywhere as it is wireless and battery/solar panel operated. It is the best camera I have used, I’m pleased I decided to upgrade to this camera and would recommend it.
I am usually more skeptical about new designs cameras but I was surprised how I started to love this little compact camera.
The fact it has a huge battery and it runs without being plugged into the main source is already a selling point. Yes, I know it can be lots of the same or similar cameras in the market but not his quilty.
After the design, the night mode was a must I needed to be good. I tested several ways and I am convinced the Full HD comes in night mode too. There are lots of functions which is available like motion sensors, full HD/sd, time settings, battery management, showing the percentage of the battery life, and alarm management. All good.
The 4 more things I like and it was important to me:
– Small, compact design
– Powerful lights
– Nightmode
– Runs on Sunpower with a good powerful recharge
For me the other options are bonuses.
The battery life is amazing, the motion sensors alarms are working without any confusing settings, easy to set up took me about 3 minutes, just because I had to go downstairs to have the wifi code. I using this camera for front garden and front carpark check.
Update to my review below. The camera is still fantastic but the customer service is even better! I’d misplaced the original mounting bracket for the camera so contacted ieGeek’s customer service. Without any quibble at all, they agreed to ship a replacement which I received last week. Summary – a great camera and even better support and they keep coming out with even better models. Don’t look past them.
To start with, I’ve had many security cameras from various manufactures over the years. Some from ieGeek (strange name btw a bit like the Kia Pro C’eed a few years back!), and others from competitors. I’ve also got several motion sensitive floodlights around my property. To start with the pain has always been when the batteries get low and you have to get up ladders to change the batteries. Or for some with inbuilt lithium ion rechargeable batteries you need to do the same thing. Get the ladder up, take the camera down and then charge the thing. Then back up the ladder to reinstall it. The solar panel negates this problem with a trickle charge constantly keeping the battery charged. I bought this recently when we had entered autumn months so time will tell how it fares in the shorter days in the winter.
That’s the first thing. The second is, if you have anything worth stealing any burglar worth his salt in the advent of commonplace CCTV will still knick your property regardless of CCTV images. They simply put their hoodie up and carry on regardless. So resolution of images is paramount. Gone are the days of grainy night-vision recordings from my previous cams. The image from these at night is awesome. Colour images at night with no distortion. So you can tell if the arse scoping your property is wearing a blue, black or even pink hoodie.
And I think this is down to the included floodlights. Without these it would just be another cam with night vision. I assume this is where they get the colour night-time images from. So the floodlights serve a dual purpose. They alert the potential burglar that they’ve been detected and also allow 2K footage to be caught in colour. So much better in evidence to use with the police or the courts. But the latter shouldn’t be a concern. With security, be that burglar alarms, motion detectors or cameras, the main purpose is to get any potential burglar to move on to another house because yours in too high risk.
The cam records to both the Cloud and an internal micro-SD card (should you install one). So should power drop, the recordings will still be available on the SD card.
The only potential gripe I have is, one of the manufacturers of another brand of camera have now stopped the free cloud storage of recent activity. Sure, they’ve had an option for years for users to upgrade to 30 days paid-for subscription to their cloud-based service. But that is ceasing. So the only peace of mind now with their cams is that should an incident occur where you need footage, you’ll need to get up that ladder again to extract it from the micro SD card. Not a deal breaker but as Ronnie Barker would have said in Episode 1 of Porridge, “What with these feet?”.
All in all this camera has it all. Fab resolution, motion detection for both the floodlights and the cam itself, high resolution night and day colour recordings, solar charging, app integration and sensible alerts. I’ll keep an eye on the latter and if it is just marketing B***hit will update this review.
This camera truly exceeded my expectations. To be honest I didn’t know what to expect from a camera like this. Battery operated stuff are not always the best. Here it comes with the solar panel which changes everything. The first week of my test was purely on the battery though to see how it goes. And it went pretty well! I was testing the SD/HD quality, the motion alarm, storage and the floodlight itself. But first things first.
Motion detection. One of the best so far! There is nothing worse than false alarms! Here no false alarms so far! Not a single one. Also it reacts only on a humanoid shape (you can change it in the settings) so even more reliable alarms. Additionally you can select the area the camera should monitor and ignore the rest. Pretty useful if your area partly covers the public footpath for example.
Floodlight light. Bright enough even when mounted on the first floor position. It’s great that you can disable/enable the light on movement detection.
Mounting. Very easy to mount, you can point the camera to almost any direction you want. You may thing that’s obvious. But believe me, I owned a few cameras where you could move it only vertically or horizontally, but not both orientation at the same time!! Here it’s how it suppose to be.
App. You can use the IeGeek Cam app or CloudEdge. Both are almost identical and they work the same way. I haven’t discovered any problems with those apps, they are intuitive and really straight forward to use.
Battery. After a week of testing, playing with it, enabling/disabling some of the options, etc the battery was almost at 80%. This is a great result as in normal circumstances you’ll get more than that. If you then connect the solar panel, you’ll never need to charge it again (unless you live in a very dark place on earth, like Mordor 😉 ).
Conclusion: A very reliable camera with the floodlight and the solar panel. I can recommend it to anyone who is looking for a stable cctv with the intuitive and simple app.
