as other reviews have said, it’s very sharp out of the box but the quality reflects the price, not very heavy which you would expect from a cleaver, is sharp enough to do the basic kitchen tasks, but after sustained use on bones I would imagine it will dull fairly quickly

Extremely sharp, and has enough weight for most domestic meat chopping tasks. I would only say it is quite heavy and from a health and safety point of view you need to be careful when using it not to drop on your foot as it would likely take your toes clean off. I only use this knife when I feel I need to, generally I use my santoku or chefs knife for veges as its more lightweight and less risk. If I have a lot of meat, like 1KG of chicken legs or something with bones, then I go for this heavy duty bad boy. If I was chopping thick bone, like red meat with bones in, I would probably go for a heavier knife but thats not really a domestic scenario unless you are a farmer or have 10+ people to feed.
