Amazing!
I bought two of these to replace traditional laptops which I had bought thinking they would be superior. They were not, the Lenovo brand is what we use at work so I knew it was quality, but I was gobsmacked at how amazing these are. They look and feel like they belong in the 500 price bracket.
For my kids homework, these make logging on and getting on with it an absolute breeze. Intuitive and with a touch screen to boot. They are weighty but not heavy – I mean they are solid built, but still small enough and light enough for a school bag. They are literally the perfect size. They keyboard is perfect and the tablet is supported by a pull out stand which works really well. It all comes apart to use it as a tablet.
Honestly, I cannot fault it in any way.
Good table
Well it is a good tablet, i have decided not to use the attached keyboard, i am not keen on the design and ease of use, a chromebook would have been better, but overall it works well
Excellent for simplicity and portability
This Chromebook was purchased for my teenage son to take to school. It light and portable with a very good battery life. The display is clear and bright enough for everyday use while the size of the display and keyboard are such that it can sit alongside school books & equipment on my son’s desk without risk of being knocked off. The light weight of this item makes it easy to carry between different classes throughout the day.
I had never considered a Chromebook before, considering them low end, low powered internet only devices. Happy to be proven wrong. This Lenovo Duet 3 device can do a lot of what a lower end Windows laptop can do with more style. It is also a viable alternative to an iPad.
It can be used in pure tablet mode, acting like a height end Android tablet. Or it can become a neat laptop. I would not want to type a 20,000-word dissertation on the supplied keyboard, though! Perhaps a cheap full sized Bluetooth model would be better.
The screen is pretty much first class and is great for browsing, gaming, watching TV and movies. I would spend the extra and go for the 8GB RAM model. I have had no slowdowns or jitters yet.
Any downsides? Well, the battery life is fine but could be better. The saving grace is that it charges up fast with the supplied charger. Not all Android apps will run on Chrome OS from the Google Play Store. And also the storage is fixed. There is no SD card slot, sadly. So again, get the 128GB model.
In short, a good purchase for the price.
Good enough for what I was using it fo
It’s grand, it’s a bit slow and finicky at times. I use it to run TTRPG with an extra screen attachment, which it sometimes complains about but looks, it’s grand
The Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 3 is an impressive 2-in-1 device that seamlessly blends portability with functionality. Its sleek design, lightweight chassis, and detachable keyboard make it perfect for on-the-go users. The vibrant 11-inch touchscreen display offers crisp visuals, ideal for streaming content or productivity tasks. Performance-wise, the Duet 3 is equipped with adequate processing power for everyday tasks, though it may struggle with heavy multitasking. Battery life is commendable, lasting through a full day of use. While the trackpad can be a bit cramped, the overall typing experience is satisfactory. This device is exceptionally priced for students or professionals seeking versatility without breaking the bank.
Quick and very portable.
Really impressed with this device. As a Chromebook user this device is as quick as my other devices and extremely portable.
The build quality seems superb and the keyboard is really good to use. Cannot fault it !
Absolutely amazing for this price
A two in one is exactly what I need. I use it for study, is the perfect size for e-books in tablet mode and also convenient for school works in computer mode. Can’t really complain anything when it’s this price, just good.
Great affordable Chromebook for school / home use
Excellent value, affordable Chromebook which I bought for my daughter to use at school. It’s very portable, and the 4GB of RAM is adequate for web browsing / basic apps. If you want a more powerful machine you could upgrade to 8GB RAM but at that cost it may just be worth it to buy a higher spec Chromebook. It’s very portable and comfortable to use in tablet or laptop mode. The only criticism I would have is that the fabric back cover / kickstand can be detached quite easily but it’s a minor issue, for the price 200 it’s amazing value!
This Chromebook is brilliant. I’ve used it more as a tablet so far to play games on, the play store is available on here and easy to use. Everything on the tablet is very easy to manoeuvre, especially if you’re already accustomed to using android systems, though even if not it shouldn’t take too long to get used to. The first start up you need to download a few updates and have a few restarts before you can get going, but they don’t take too long to do.
So far I’ve only used the tablet for some internet browsing and downloading and playing games. Everything has worked quickly, even turning on the tablet is very quick.
The pen comes with the 8gb RAM option, it is the first time I’ve used one of these so I can’t compare to others, but it does the job it’s supposed to do, it’s much more accurate than a simple stylus and I had fun using the handwriting app to have a play, watching it turn my writing into typed text. I use it a bit while playing some games, but can see it would be great for someone that creates art on their tablets.
The keyboard is very easy to attach, it has a strong magnet that snaps it into place and it works straight away, there’s no loading time or anything, just snap it on and off as and when needed. It works well and feels just like a normal small laptop.
The case is very sturdy, it too as magnetic so it snaps into place. I was concerned when reading at the time of purchase that the stand would wear out quite quickly with it being in use a lot but it’s definitely strong. It has hinges on it so it’s not just some bendy material that will wear out, so it’s made very well and I can see it lasting a long time. The case itself is also very smart looking. The only issue I could find is that you have to have the keyboard attached so that the screen has some protection. So if you are taking it out and only need the tablet, you will still need to take the keyboard with you. It’s only a small issue really as the keyboard isn’t adding a drastic amount of weight or anything, it’s more about having the option of taking it with you or not.
Overall I absolutely love this tablet, it’s built well, very sturdy accessories and definitely worth the money spent on it, great value product.
Convenient and nea
A nice piece of kit at a reasonable price to use up to date apps and face to face chats.
Only drawback is there is no port for downloading photos from a card or other device.
A very versatile Chromebook. I use it for entertainment and work. The screen is really good, great brightness and resolution.
Being able to install any Linux app that has an ARM64 version is a big plus, enabling me to use it for work with little issues. Zoom is the only problematic app, having to use it via the browser, and the experience could be better, but that’s no fault of Lenovo.
The keyboard is really good, with short key travel and good feedback. Was able to use it for software development with no issues.
Performance is generally good. I was surprised that 4GB was enough for most use cases. There are occasional slowdowns, but it never felt laggy or outright slow.
I gave it 4 stars because, as others mentioned, the 4/64 does not come with a pen, which is a real shame, but doesn’t detract much from its functionality.
It's a great laptop/tablet for art.
My daughter loves using this for all her artwork. I do feel a little cheated as I never received my original order, and when I reordered it had gone up by 40. It’s a shame it doesn’t come with a pen, although it does state this in the description. The individual cost of the compatible pens are really overpriced.
love this chromebook - really well designed
i love this chromebook – wasn’t sure what to expect but it operates really well, looks good, is transportable and works well with and without the keyboard. big fan. highly recommend. i bought a used one and it was perfect – think I saved 100
Great device.
The hardware is great on this – the screen and built quality is hard to criticize and the keyboard cover that is included is high quality and comfortable to use.
Battery life is great. Performance is good. No complaints other than the sound quality could be better and no headphone jack highly recommend though.
Wow
Great product. For the price on prime day you can’t beat it. Tablet screen is clear and great sound. No issues with connectivity. Attachable keyboard is fantastic. Reading kindle books on here is preferable to reading on my phone.
Also will be used for travel.lightweight and compact.
Cheers Lenovo.
Keep in mind that I bought the 8GB RAM 128GB and that considering other reviews, other versions (4GB RAM 64/128GB) could come with different accessories or performance.
Since the description is not clear on what the package comes with, here are the contents they sent to me:
a keyboard, a case, an adapter for Jack to USB-C, the penholder, and the Lenovo pen USI 2.0 pen itself. See attached images.
UPDATE: 12OCT2023
So far, so good. The first thing after setting everything up was to make sure I was using the latest version of the ChromeOS. Initially, it was in version 103 and I had to, manually, “Check for Updates” multiple times to get to the latest version, which is 117 as of the time of this review.
Before buying, I checked some people saying that there were battery drain issues and that they resolved this a few months ago. To confirm this, I have been shutting down the tablet and leaving it alone overnight, plus a few more hours. I was pleased to see that it did not spend any percentage of battery. I went to sleep with 91% battery and after hours it was still with 91%.
Another thing I stumbled upon is that there is a known bug for ChromeOS regarding using the on-screen keyboard while using Linux apps inside the Linux container. This means that for any Linux apps you want to use, you need to use them with the keyboard attached. As of right now, this is not fixed and there are no previsions as to when that will happen. Keep this in mind if you want to use Linux apps in tablet mode. I will try to update this review when this is fixed.
One minor discovery I did not find in reviews was that the pen has a magnet, so it’s possible to put the pen on one side of the tablet, magnetically. The pen holder is not the only place you can attach it to (it should be more secure, though).
The pen comes with an AAAA battery (just one inside) instead of being rechargeable.
Before the first use, you are supposed to open the pen. When opening it, make sure to only remove the small black insulation pad and not the attached paper inside, as removing it will cause the pen to stop working.

UPDATE: 10OCT2023
I did not use it yet because I wanted to add a review including what accessories the package comes with first. I will update my review after using the Chromebook.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great 2 in 1 laptop
I bought this for uni and it does everything I need it to and a good size. The screen is bigger than a regular tablet which makes it great for streaming. It looks amazing too. The price is fantastic especially when it is on most other sites for a much higher price 🙂
5.0 out of 5 stars Excelle
Love this little tablet, great screen, great battery life, keyboard is specifically comfortable to use.
The only negative so far is that it’s harder than we expected to use office 365 (specifically creating and editing a PowerPoint) . We’ll look for a you tube tutorial….
Value for Money
Good performance, speed of loading apps very good. Good clear image from camera’s. Value for money as you get the keyboard as well. Battery life is good, not really used all day, but lcharge lasts a few days. So not sure how long it will like if used for the whole day. Nice magnetically attached keyboard/cover, nice feel to the keys and sturdy.
Only complaint is that the Outlook app isn’t available to download for Chrome OS devices. Though having said that, I have the app installed on all my Android phones – I have three at the moment, Samsung, Honor and Oppo and also on my iPhone. Have to use the web version on the tablet.
I have been in IT for 30 years, and have bought dozens of laptops and servers in that time. I currently run 3 windows laptops, 2 windows servers and multiple Linux servers in my home. (just to indicate that I am not a novice user). This is genuinely the greatest single laptop computing device I have ever bought. I had the previous duet 3, I also own the duet 5 and several other Chromebooks. The brilliant thing about the duet 3 is that it provides the full chrome browser experience in a tablet format which can be converted into a laptop format. So all the extensions work, all the history tabs and bookmarks sync between all the devices. This is in marked contrast to all non-chromebook tablets including iPads and Android tablets. The browsing experience on these devices is absolutely miserable. The user is forced into the dreadful webkit browsing engine on iPads in particular. This single restriction makes the iPad essentially useless if you do intensive browser-based or PWA-based computing. Unfortunately the same is true on Android tablets also. Chromebooks spectacular benefit is they provide ability to do the full PC browser environment , exactly bitful bet . To have this on a touch tablet is just marvelous. The form factor means you can carry the device around, and it’s function can range from being a simple Kindle reader to being a full-fledged laptop on which you can run office or Google workspace apps and a great deal more. The included USI 2. Pen and holder is a major bonus. I use the bigger duet 5 Around the house and the duet 3 when I leave the house or travel abroad. I only use the windows laptops for photo processing or for spreadsheet work where I need a larger screen. Just an amazing device and genuinely the best bit of electronics hardware I have ever purchased in my long history of purchasing electronic hardware.
I went for the 8Gb memory plus 128Gb storage which comes with a pen included. At the time of writing it was 100 difference vs the 4Gb/64Gb version and the pen alone was 40 value so the actual difference was really 60 for double the memory and storage. A no brainer if money is not too tight.
It’s a truly phenomenal device. It’s well built, looks great, isn’t heavy and is fast enough although not what I’d call lightning quick. Essentially it’s perfectly adequate for day to day web browsing, office web apps, YouTube and consuming other content. The real magic is clipping on the magnetic keyboard which turns it into a proper little laptop. I was quickly and easily able to create documents and spreadsheets, as well as do some time tracking etc. I thought the keyboard/trackpad would be too small but they are perfectly functional.
I particularly like the fact it supports more than just online content so not only do I get web apps, I also get Android app compatibility and it even supports the Linux development environment so I was able to install VSCode and various Python libraries with next to no fuss.
All in all this is the perfect device to take away with you on holiday, for school or just as a second device to keep you in touch.
Absolutely outstanding!
This laptop is very good for your general use, things like watching YouTube, browsing google and more.
The screen quality is very good so you will be more than satisfied when doing any amount of media consumption, or like me, doing photo editing in Lightroom or photoshop.
I would not recommend this for playing games seen as it just isn’t powerful enough to run graphic intense games, although you can play mobile games pretty well, you will not be playing steam games any time soon.
(Drawing is good on this but you will need to buy a USI 2.0 Stylus if you want the best experience)
The Chromebook system is wonderful – log in and all your settings and apps appear within just a few minutes. The Duet models add several layers of sophistication to that genre.
The screen quality and speed of processing are excellent and rival any top end laptop.
This is a highly competent tablet using Android apps but of course the key USP is that it is a Chromebook tablet – and perform amazingly well in that mode.
The keyboard is easy to use with good feedback and travel and detaches and reattaches very positively thanks to powerful magnets.
The only downside is the absence of any memory card slot. Of course the whole idea of a Chromebook is that it is web-based but I like to have local storage and I’m sure I’m not alone.
As a user of Chromebooks since their inception, I can say this is easily the best I have ever used, and right now they are for sale with huge discounts – grab one. 🙂
Perfect for everything where your phone screen is too small, but laptop too much hassle. Netflix in the bathtub? Done! (Make sure not to use the app, use the browser though)
Quick sketches and drawings in the garden? Done!
And the battery lasts for ages, too, so that cool
If you go to the Lenovo store this specific product (8GB RAM, with stylus) is not there for sale and indeed at time of writing a lower spec (4GB RAM, no stylus) is listed at a higher price.
Chromebooks benefit from 8GB of RAM and will last you longer as apps get more memory-hungry.
As other reviews you’ll find, the stylus is very difficult to remove from the case, but the stylus itself works extremely well.
I am transitioning from a large Android tablet of near-identical size with near-identical keyboard+trackpad but ChromeOS handles multitasking better than Android.
I also have a Core i3 Chromebook, this Lenovo Duet 3 is noticeably laggy in comparison so don’t think it’s a workhorse and you can connect a large screen. Consider it an entry-level convertible.
on opening and checking contents found a pen holder but no pen in the box. given 4 stars because so far it has started OK and set up is straight forward. contacted Lenovo to report the pen missing waiting reply.
