My hub works fine with the exception that the hub struggles to reconnect to the MacBook when it has a USB-C cable plugged in providing power, if I remove the connection the MacBook can reconnect to the device with no problems.
I would recommend it, however, keep in mind you might have issues like I do.
It is a very high quality hub and has been perfect for me. Ive been through around 5 different USB hubs and this has been one of the best I’ve had so far. I use this with an External SSD, Focusrite and Elgato game capture. The transfer speeds with the SSD is very fast.
I haven’t had any problems with this hub since I have unboxed it, there is no set up needed and is ready to plug in and use. Having a HDMI input is extremely useful to connect my MacBook Pro to an external monitor, without taking up space on a USB slot.
I bought this product as I only have 2 x USB sockets in my Laptop and I have to connect mouse, keyboard, and other USB Keys; this multiport works great and it doesn’t need setting up needed just plug and play.
The usbC port seems not to be compatible with my Ipad pro 5th generation that it does not recharge.
Got this mainly for the ethenet port. I already had a hub but without the ethernet.
This has worked great so far, I have a very good and stable wired connection to my laptop now and run 2 additional monitors and a wireless keyboard and mouse.
It’s very easy to use and I was especially surprised that I didn’t need to have it plugged to a power source for it to work.
The only problem is, because it’s not really recognised by windows my touch screen monitor isn’t working through it.
I’m sure there is a work around to get it working again, I’ve just not looked into it.
At the moment it works great, and keeps my desk tidy and convenient to swap from my personal laptop to my work laptop without needing to spend 10 minutes sorting out the cables. For the price, I’d say it’s worth it. But of there is a genuine one for your computer like HP or Dell, then go for that.
Issue with this is purely my own, not necessarily the device, but to make you aware, ensure your laptop is compatible.
That sounds like a very obvious thing to do but I have a very modern Huawei laptop and this did not work as a charging hub via the USB C input.
I could use it as a standalone media dock but at the expense of my only USB C port meaning I could not charge simultaneously.
More a word of caution than a review, hope it helps someone.
Simply got this for charging my ipad pro so i can use it at the same time with my zen audio dac. Works perfectly and doesn’t distort the audio. Thumbs up for my particular use case.
Ordered this for work as I wasn’t given the correct peripheral to link my laptop to the screen. Super simple to use and the additional USB ports are great for connecting my keyboard and mouse. Small and transportable means I can take this to the office when I need to as well.
