I use this a lot and have found the build quality excellent and typical of OXO good grips products. I have arthritis so the chunky handles are really helpful. Fairly easy to clean, a small brush helps.

I’ve used the same garlic press regularly for over 10 years but it inevitably wore out. My new Oxo product is very sturdy, functions well & relatively easy to clean. Not a surprise as my other Oxo kitchen aids are all well engineered & function admirably.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersHad put off getting one of these for years because how many garlic presses does one house need? And we had one.

But it was aluminium so couldn’t go in dishwasher & a pain to clean.

This Oxo version fixes both of those problems – just use it every time now, even if only for one or two cloves, instead of faffing about chopping small amounts because it was less hassle than cleaning the old press.

Quick, degunks easily, survives the dishwasher…you can even put garlic in without bothering to peel the clove first it you’re in a real rush.

    Excellent product.

Great garlic press, need to use much less power to press thank my previous one. Very easy to clean. The only minus, that leaves a bit of garlic on a sides inside that needs to be pushed in for second time press, but over all very good product.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat quality and very well made, bought this after reading other reviews and it does what it says but as other reviewers have said it is a heavy item for the older person. I have to use both hands due to arthritis but I can get over that as it works a dream and you can put more than one garlic in at a time. The grip handles really help and are good quality and non slip. Easy to get out all the pressed garlic and easy to clean.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersAfter looking at equivalent offers from different maker’s and buying one, which didn’t last long, I decided to buy this.
It is very well made, being of solid construction. Easy to use, you can put 2 or 3 garlic segments in at a time with instant results, leaving only skin. Cleaning takes no time at all. You rinse under running water and use the rubber pad to push out any residual from the presser grid.
I’ve had this for a few months now, used it frequently and it’s still as good as new.
To sum up, I would certainly recommend this to anyone looking for a reliable, efficient garlic press.

I’ve been looking for good one of these for ages. Had a couple in the past but haven’t lasted.

This one from OXO good grips however, is really, really solid!
It has a good weight to it and crushes that garlic clove, until there’s nothing left to come out.

It leaves a completely squeezed, garlic type skin in the holder, then you flip the handle back around the other way, press down slightly and it releases the skin from the holder, so you can tip it straight into the bin.

Fantastic design, meaning you don’t have to get garlic on your hands at any point.
I think you could do 2 good sized cloves in this at once.

It’s a really well built kitchen utensil, with quality heavy duty plastic for the handle and a decent amount of solid metal for the crusher.

What you expect from a quality utensil brand.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersMy old flimsy garlic press couldn’t cope with my Schwarzenegger strength wrists. Most things I can crush with my bare hands, but I find garlic flies out the side and is hitting my wife on the head. And with the old press snapping like waterlogged pencil, I needed a solution.

Enter the brilliantly named “OXO 11107400”. Ordered Wednesday… Arrived Thursday.

I kept it simple to start with. Just a small clove. A quick and easy squeeze, and the OXO treated the clove with less respect than Will Smith had for Chris Rock, easily pushing through the crushed stinky goo into my frying pan. Sure, there was some residual garlic still in the press. But with a quick flip, I was able to pop that out using the red prongs.

So I’ve gone from looking with trepidation at the bulbous herb, to almost pitying its last moments as a respected vegetable (or is it a flower?).

    Yeah… I’d reccomend it.

Bought this six months ago as a replacement for a standard garlic press which could keep up with all our home cooking. I like most of the oxo range and was willing to test the garlic press. This is a substantial press (heavier than the old one, but ok). I can fit at least three cloves in at a time and add more without emptying the press (we use a fair bit of garlic in our recipes). Because it is a bit bigger the surface area is larger which means the pressing action is easier. I can tend to half press and then run a knife across the grate to make the garlic pieces even smaller. Cleaning is easy two. a splash of water and the residue drops out. if anything is stuck you flip the press backways and the red part pushes through anything stuck in the grate. It is a significant upgrade on the last press we had (which I thought was good too).

Golden Review Award: 23 From Our UsersThere is an older model of this garlic crusher with quite a number of negative reviews, particularly in reference to the handle snapping. This (version of the?) garlic crusher has no such issue.
You wouldn’t think that selecting something as simple as a garlic crusher would have so many variables but, crumbs, there really is.

One of the major disadvantages with some garlic crushers is that the “head” part where the crushed garlic comes out is not a flat surface. That’s a big negative as you can’t run a knife over it effectively and get all of the garlic that you can.
One of the major advantages with a crusher like this one is that it has the teeth on the other side so that you can push the remains of the garlic that is caught in the holes back out and re-crush it (or just put it in with the crushed). Cleaning the holes in a garlic crusher that doesn’t have these is a real chore.
One thing to watch out for though with the cleaning head is that water might get trapped behind the plastic part. I haven’t personally found that with this garlic crusher (yet?) but there is a possibility. I might be completely wrong about that, however and find that the plastic part has nowhere behind it for the water to get trapped. I haven’t tried breaking off the plastic to look.
Leverage is a thing with garlic crushers, as is the ability to get a firm grip. I would say that it’s a big thing but, realistically, it’s down to the individual; some people would be able to hold on to a stainless steel grip just fine and if your hand has sufficient crushing power then pretty much any garlic crusher would work for you. Anyway, this has enough leverage to easily crush multiple cloves of garlic with reasonable ease.

There’s little else I can say. It’s worked really well, cleans fine in the dishwasher and, with the above benefits, works really well for me.
