    Perfect Replaceme
I had an old Panasonic phone that ‘did everything’ as far as portable phones were concerned… it lasted ten years. However, finding a replacement with similar features proved difficult, until I spotted this Panasonic. Easy to set up and use with those little extras that make adding entries a breeze. A perfect replacement for my old kit.

I’ve always had Panasonic. This phone is just as good if not better. It’s great to just have to enter phone number in your phone book but automatically gets entered in other phones. Should anyone call you that is not in your phone book, a male voice tells you the phone number if the person calling you. (You can turn this off). A shame it only comes in black with a Matt silver surround. A white option would have been nice. Still a lovely phone.

Far superior to our old phones
Bought this phone set as old Panasonic had been good but nearly 15 years old. This phone set is far superior to our old phones.
Can actually recognise who is calling, very clear and easy to set up too. Very pleased with quality of phones.

I am delighted with my Panasonic phones. The battery lasts a really long time when the phone is off the base and they are really very clear. I would definitely recommend these to anyone.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersNOT BAD
I was after landine telephones with Talking Caller ID, as per my parents current Panasonic PNL C1035 Triple telephone set, which unfortunately the load speakers were starting to fail. These new phones have the required Talking Caller ID, loud speakers and also facility to increase the incoming callers voice, even when using the loud speaker. Unfortunately I’d say the sound quality isn’t as good as the former Panasonic phones these were purchased to replace, but they were definitely the best alternative I could find, and trust me over the last four months I’ve tried many numerous options and makes. Price wasn’t a factor at all and I’d have happily paid what ever it cost no limit, just to get what my parents actually needed. The incoming ring tone even at its highest setting isn’t very load and definitely not loud enough for anyone with hearing problems, but I’ve managed to solve this with a separate little ringer speaker, which has a flashing red light as well as increasing incoming call tone sound and has definitely enhanced the incoming ringer volume. Not a lot of choice in the incoming call ringer sound options, but adequate. Not as user friendly as the previous Panasonic phones as far as my parents needs are, but for me set up was exactly the same as the previous phones and is quick and easy. My parents are 93 and 88 and are trying to hold on to what independence they still have and been able to receive and make telephone calls is not only important to them, but is also equally important to myself and my siblings. So I’d recommend these phones to anyone looking for something that’s easy to set up, as reasonable sound quality and the all important Talking Caller ID. If the sound quality could have been better, then these telephones would have been perfect, but so far they are definitely the best of a bad bunch. Given nowadays the majority of the younger generation don’t bother with landlines and tend to just have mobile phones, you’d think the telephone manufacturers of landline phones, would quickly assess their client base is going to be older and in the main have failing eye sight and poor hearing. The elderly require physical helping aids bot necessary pretty looking items. It won’t be long before landlines become obsolete, so come on landline manufacturers start to produce what your main client base actually need and are more than happy to pay for! I’d recommend these phones based on my parents experience and I was more than happy with the price given I purchased them as a gift.

    Just plugged it i
When the phone arrived, we just plugged it in and it worked with ease, at least on the basic level of receiving and making telephone calls. It certainly looks good and seems solidly built.

Looking at the small print instructions, it obviously does much more than we are using it fo at present. We have yet to plumb the depths of its more sophisticated side but it does the basics very well.

    Stylish and does the job
It’s fairly easy to use and set up was very easy. I like the ‘ do not disturb’ feature to stop calls in unsociable hours and also the ability to categorise callers into groups like ‘trades, family’ etc.
I wish it had a better choice of displays like an analogue clock which the Seiman’s phone it replaced or even a more attractive font. Otherwise happy with the purchase.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMost useful feature: Announces the name of the caller!
Ancient technology now, but wireless phones that work, are loud enough, and can last long enough on battery for a decent conversation are still necessary. The best feature is that if you have the patience to enter phone numbers into the “phonebook” then the phone announces the caller while ringing. Great for deciding whether to hurry to the handset!
The biggest criticism is the power cable of the handset bases, which is stiffer than any cable I’ve ever encountered. Honestly, it’s like a coat hanger. Coupled with the fact that the handset bases are incredibly light and slidey, means the bases spring all over the place when you lift the handset! The wires are far too stiff and springy, and the bases too light.
But the phones are fine, in a Twentieth Century way!

    Good value phones
For the myriad of features within these phones they are excellent value. The instructions are super easy, the only issue I have is that their sound quality is slightly fuzzy, but that may be down to a bad signal, I’m not sure.
I do love all the features on them, especially the intercom function, which is very handy

Bought as extensions to older Panasonic main phone. Worried I would be unable to connect and get to register with older model but, after following instructions, now works a treat, one in kitchen and one in bedroom. Quality good, neat and smart in appearance and of much better quality than Virgin phones I replaced, more features. Don’t have phone points in house, main phone connected to modem but extensions have picked up the signal. Had researched and Panasonic did not let me down, was relieved to be able to put my old Pasadonic back in use.

    Good Desig
It is a good looking phone, nice clear screen and the buttons feel nice to touch. My mother who uses this phone and is hard of hearing has said that she can hear what people are saying to her even on the speakerphone.

Volume is loud and clear. In the manual it mentions that if your landline is bad (your line crackles) then it will effect the quality of sound and your ability to hear people.

Phone has a nice little gimmick as it can say the phone number calling you or a person calling you, which is good if you are hard of hearing. But you can turn this option off.

Word of caution when setting up nuisance calls please bear in mind that ‘withheld’ numbers can be your doctors surgery or the hospital and if you set it on to block they wouldn’t be able to contact you so just leave it in the default setting, as you can always block a number after the call.

The manual is easy to follow with it step-by-step guide if you familiarise yourself with the diagram on what all the buttons do, it will make life easier for you.

    Panasonic Rules
Had my last cordless Panasonic for 13 years and the buttons were starting to stick…I was a bit wary of getting a new phone hut, this one hasn’t let me down. Enjoying the different ringtones and it is cool how it announces who is calling as I don’t have to get up if it is someone calling to get my bank details. So far so good…hopefully I will get 13 years from this one.

    Slightly deficient volume control
It’s a great phone but there is a minor sound quality issue: using the handset, the sound drifts slightly in the earpiece (both handsets) as though there is signal loss and the upper end of the volume control is not loud enough. This can make for unclear conversations; speakerphone, however, works well with plenty of volume control. All other aspects of this phone are very good; setup is easy; menus are clear and user-friendly. I find the talking caller ID useful.

Impressive... Just read the manual to get the best from them.
Bought this to replace a triple pack some 18 years old so they had to perform and look as good as my older ones, and they have not disappointed..so far..In fact they were a lot easier to set up due to better modern technology… They were as simple as plug and play… The days have gone when you have too pair them as you plug them in..The main answer machine was connected first and as I connected the second and third phone they simply paired no fuss,no bother… They have the ability to be baby monitors and an intercom. The distance is impressive being around 50/70 metres before starting to faulter, but line of sight will be much further. Call quality is clear and transfering calls to one of the other phones is simple…

There was one small gripe with the phones… You WILL need to refer too the booklet for inner menus as I found when I tried to get the answer machine to work. When I tested the answer machine I thought I was leaving a message on the new phones… In fact I was leaving it with my server… You have to shorten the rings to 4 for the new phones to pick up… Any longer and they go to your server.. This was confusing at first but the booklet gives you # numbers to alter inner menus… So just be aware of this. Apart from this they are a great trip 5 phone set.. Highly recommended..cheers

These ‘phones are a joy. Well built, yet slim, lightweight, and with an excellent display. Using the setup menu was intuitive, although the manual is not. The sound quality and the usable range are good. Checking the voice messages is simple and can be done either at the base or from the handsets. It all looks good too!
I can’t give this set a 5 * rating, because of the cost and the miserly 500mAh batteries. And what appears to be an inordinately long time to fully charge them: 10 hours. It would be so much better to have at least 800mAh batteries, as this would considerably increase stand-by and call capacity. And as noted, the manual is a not easy to use, although there is a lot of detail when you can find it.

I always purchase Panasonic cordless phones and after having two different ones damaged by falling on the floor, I chose another set and I really like the features on this model as it announces the name of the person calling, provided they are on your call list. Though the name isn’t by any means pronounced perfectly, at least you have a chance of knowing if it is an important call coming through if you are in another room.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersA coloured screen phone.
Had our previous BT phones god knows how many years, and they still work perfectly, but the characters and numbers on the LCD screen have broken up, so much so that it was getting impossible to read the number or name of person calling. After a lot of research, finally settled for these. So far they have worked okay and also have several additional bells and whistles more than the old BT phones. A coloured screen, number or who is calling announced via voice from the phones, has an eco mode. The one thing I have found that is not as good (early days yet so it may just be me) is the calls list, on the BT phones there was a calls list that was easy to scroll through and then delete. On these Panasonic phones there is a calls list, but it is a bit of a faff to get down to who has called etc, and then delete them, what was just a press of a button on the BT phones, is several presses to get what you want and then delete them on these. These phones feel a bit flimsy as well, again when compared to the previous BT phones, but other than that I am fairly happy with them, especially as they were well under their usual selling price.

Golden Review Award: 44 From Our UsersExcellent!
There are a few things I read in reviews that are incorrect so I thought I would put them right.

Some settings are unique to each handset and some are shared amongst the entire system. Shared settings are updated automatically and there is no need to set them in each handset. For example, setting the time and date will update the time and date in all the handsets. Another example is if you add a contact using any handset that information will be shared with all the handsets. Some settings on the other hand are unique to each handset and have to be individually programmed in to each handset. The handset volumes, ring tones and so on. All this just works seamlessly. You can also use any handset to program the settings of the base unit, such as the answerphone. The base unit also has a ringer in it, so that can be set too.

The phones are very adaptable. Just about everything can be set or unset. It’s all laid out very logically in the menu and is mostly very intuitive. The only thing that caught me out is that sometimes the pickup and end-call buttons need to be used while navigating the menus. As soon as you realise that though everything else is easy.

Everything works as it should and the phones really are good. Incidentally there are 40 ring tones to choose from including specials for Christmas! I must confess that I thought they sounded a little dated. Also the wallpapers for the display seemed to be mostly rain a few flowers and more rain.

The sound is a little tinny but very clear. The volume could be a little higher but was enough for me.

There is a rather annoying delay of a few seconds when you access the phonebook. However the phonebook itself is extremely well laid out and informative.

The voice announcement of who is calling really is extremely useful. How many times have you run to the phone thinking it was aunt May when it turned out to be a double glazing salesman? Well now you can take a more leisurely stroll when the caller is unknown.

The nuisance call blocking is simple but highly effective. I block all calls with no number, all that start with 00 ( international calls ) , and if someone calls who I don’t know they get individually blocked, which just takes a few keypresses.

In general comparing this phone to similar level BT phones the Panasonic is more flexible and that makes it also a little more complicated to use. It has more settings albeit uses more keypresses to do the same thing. There is one important difference between the two, though, and that is the way call blocking works. With the BT phone any calling number is always displayed on the display but if it’s blocked it doesn’t ring. So if you look on the handset you can see a blocked number is calling and you can pick up if you decide to. On the Panasonic though the call is NOT displayed on the display. To my mind this is a weakness with the Panasonic because you could accidentally pickup on a blocked number because it’s not on the display.

All in all this is a really impressive set of phones. Expensive, yes, but well worth the money and these days you can usually pick up a bargain if you shop around.

I have had other Panasonic cordless home phones over the years, this is why I chose this one. It’s easy to use. The reason why I bought this one, is because I dropped my other one on the bath room floor and it broke. Other wise I would still be using it.

I tried 2 BT models before deciding on another Panasonic. I bought my previous Panasonic Quad several years ago when Call Blocking was still a new feature, I could block 30 numbers individually but not block International calls so needed to update . Apart from that I liked everything else about it. Having returned or given away the last 2 BT models I tried I have gone back to Panasonic. I’ve been using it about 6 weeks now and my phone has never been so quiet, I don’t block Withheld numbers as hospitals, doctors etc usually use withheld numbers, but I let the answer machine pick those up before deciding if I want to answer, bona fide callers will identify themselves. Although this model doesn’t block International calls automatically they can be blocked by blocking all calls beginning with the international code. I would have liked a larger font on the display caller ID but that may just be my problem as I am due to have cataracts removed., But anyway the Caller ID is also identified by a voiceover which means I don’t even have to reach for the phone to know who is calling. Lots of call tones to choose from, easy to use menu for setting up, can even change the screen saver. I have used phones with clearer sound, but also used phones with much worse so it isn’t a problem. My last Panasonic phones had the original batteries after several years, so have given 5 stars assuming these will last as long. I recommend this Panasonic Quad {and I am really a very fussy consumer).

    Useful piece of kit.
I was impressed by the features on this phone, particularly the fact that it announces the incoming number as well as showing it – no more scrabbling for my glasses before the answerphone cuts in ! My only disappointment is the range, my previous phone still worked at the bottom of the garden, about 30 metres away, this one will barely get out of the door. Fortunately not a great problem for me.

This set replaces a gigaset. Was looking for a new set and first started looking at gigaset, after a while I looked at the Panasonic and did see this one on UK. Didn’t see this features in the standards in NL. Special like the feature for blocking numbers and do like the calling(announcing) of the person who is in your phone book when he is calling. So you don’t have to stand up to look at the phone. You can then decide to take or leave the call. Because I live in the Netherlands I had to buy two adapters for the UK 220 plug . Also the cable of the telephone line you have to use your existing from the old phone. (The UK standard isn’t the same). A lot of ringtones available (not so as on your mobile)

Golden Review Award: 34 From Our UsersBetter that Gigase
Had Panasonic phones for as long as I can remember. A problem with our BT line encouraged us to try another phone system (thinking it was our phone, not the line). We tried a Gigaset SL400 twin set. Never had I used such a badly designed or difficult to use handset. Yesterday, I decided I’d had enough and went back to Panasonic. Couldn’t have made a better decision. Didn’t even have to open the manual to setup. The ringtones are better on the Panasonic and the handset is easy to use and not fumbly. Transferring a call from one set to the other is easier too, just pick the 2nd handset up and put the answering one down..none of this internal dialing and accidentally cutting callers off. 5 stars.

Got these today and once the batteries were charged I set them up,very easy to do and had no problems doing so.
They look and feel to be well made and look great in their own holders. The display is quite good and these have lots of features in the settings menu and is straight forward to navigate through.
The phone that you set up on the main stand that has the answer machine on transfers the settings and telephone contacts list automatically.Overall I am pleased with this purchase and would recommend them. They are a bit dearer than some other twin sets but you get what you pay for.

Golden Review Award: 105 From Our UsersVery good phones and usable domestic intercom. Slow phonebook.
These are excellent phones. Bought this twin-pack and a four-pack, currently using five of the handsets and keeping one as a spare (and a spare base too). Really good clear sound. Speakerphone seems to work substantially better than our old models (also Panasonic, about 8 years old). Intercom feature is now actually useful for a couple of reasons. FIrst, each phone can be given a name – Hall, Kitchen etc – and when starting an intercom call you can choose which one to call by picking the name from a menu rather than having to remember which station number is in which room. Secondly, you can set the phones to pick up intercom calls automatically after two rings – in handsfree mode – so they are ideal for calling upstairs to say dinner’s ready or whatever. Sadly the “intercom all” feature doesn’t do what I hoped – it rings all the handsets, but someone has to pick one of them up before you can talk. I had hoped it would let me make a tannoy announcement all round the house. Still, the intercom is very useful and saves yelling up the stairs – especially in a 3-storey house.

There are lots of configurable settings and it’s worth spending the time to go through them (most of them have to be done on each handset) to get the best from them. Some of them have non-obvious defaults, for example “Auto Talk” is off by default and I’d have thought most people want that on, so that it picks up a call as soon as you lift it out of the cradle.

The phonebook is shared between all the handsets which is very convenient, but it leads to my only slight negative which is that looking up a number in the phonebook is rather sluggish. This might be a concern if you keep lots of numbers in there.

Delivered well within quoted delivery time and was well packagedt. Although bought as a present, I did help set the item up for use. Easy instructions for a change and very easy to preset your regular numbers into the system. Golden Review Award: 48 From Our UsersGood all rounder and great value if you get it on a special
I managed to get these on a good deal so although I didn’t really need 4 handsets I got those just to have some spares.
These replaced a much older set of Panasonic phones that I needed to retire and so far they appear to be working well.
I had deliberated between these and the BT 8600 for the nuisance call blocking but thankfully I don’t have a severe problem like many out there and it may tip your choice if you do, however, these do the job well but don’t have the extra features of screening that the BT phones do.

I also wanted the alarm feature of the Panasonics which (on the old sets) allowed up to 3 alarms on each handset. These I believe have 5. Most other phones don’t seem to have more than 1. My preference of course and perhaps not something most might consider when looking for such phones.

I’ve noticed that although the phone quality is clear they are not as loud as my previous phones but they are just about adequate and speaker phone works well.
    Some things to note.

    PROS:

    1) Good looking design.
    2) Colour screen with changeable wallpaper
    3) Answer machine speaker and led indicator + ringer (previous one didn’t have)
    4) Can turn off display when charging – good when you’ve got one in the bedroom
    5) Phone book entries entered in one handset are automatically visible in all other handsets. (This was a tedious manual process on the last phone)
    6) Categorisation of phone numbers. Allows searching by category – useful. Customisable category names
    7) Intercom allows auto answer (set on individual handsets) and conference calls
    8) Phone entries now allow multiple numbers for each person
    9) Allows naming of each handset for easy identification.
    10) Every menu item is accessible in a direct way. Entering a number but it’s a mixed blessing – would you remember 100 different numbers?
    11) Remote control of phone allows you to phone in to get your messages
    12) Nice feature to compliment 11) is that you can give your answer machine a phone number to call when a message is left. Good feature to have for some.

    CONS:
    1) Somewhat lower sound volume
    2) Changeable wallpaper yes but not many choices and no custom option (shame)
    3) Ringtones as always are pretty disgusting. There are a lot to choose from but finding one that doesn’t make you cringe is difficult. When will they allow downloadable ringtones, this is 2017 !!
    4) Checking missed calls identified in your phone book curiously doesn’t show the other numbers you may have recorded when you request details. (strange – it just shows that person and the number that they rang from – seems pointless having ‘details’ option then.)
    5) Missed call list shows a separate entry fo same number – does not allow “Erasing All” – so would be tedious to clear call lists one by one.
    6) CPU is fairly slow when searching or scrolling down phone list. They definitely could have done better here either in choice of processor or better searching algorithms.
    7) There are a couple of menu items that are inaccessible via the normal menu tree. These are accessed by typing in a #number that you will probably never remember. Thankfully there are only about 4 and they are not things you will need on a daily basis.

    Call blocking:

I can’t comment too much on this as I haven’t used it much.
    Currently you have 3 choices

    1) Block a single number (enter it manually or select it from the missed call list)
    2) Block a range of numbers
    3) Block withheld numbers

I assume that 3) will also block international calls. Most people’s problems with this choice is that 1. it doesn’t discriminate between international and withheld and 2. when using this option you might well block valid withheld numbers eg. your doctor’s surgery – mine at least withholds the number.

In conclusion and from my lengthy research there IS no phone that is going to satisfy everyone’s requirement / wish, I don’t think it exists but if you want a phone with lots of features and blocks individual numbers when needed this is it. For nuisance calls it appears the main choices were this and the BT 8600 but frankly I find it hard to buy anything BT but that’s just me.

Golden Review Award: 23 From Our UsersWe paid £79.99 for the this Package on Amazon and think it is a great package for the price and here's why -
We have tried many Digital cordless phones over the years including Panasonic, Samsung, Binatone and BT models but have found a personal preference for the Panasonic models. Our last Panasonic Phones lasted about 4 years before we had to replace them. It may sound odd, crazy even but as there are so many home phone sets on the market we took a few months to decide what would suit our needs more before finally deciding on the Panasonic KX-TGJ323EB Trio Cordless Handset, we were not dissapointed with our choice.

With an excellent build quality, [what you would expect from Panasonic anyway] the best features on this phone are the following:

1/ Call Block Feature – Block nuisance callers and telemarketers (Although you can subscribe freely to the telephone preference service TPS to opt out of telemarketing calls) this is still useful because some telemarketers still ignore this and call anyway – hence the need for this feature.

2/ The phone reads aloud the name of your caller whilst the phone is ringing – This is a really handy feature, you can now avoid dashing to the phone only to find out it is someone that you can call back later or just avoid all together. SImply put – this feature is my favourite because you can be cooking, gardening or doing something where it is inconvenient to just get up to reach for the phone only to realise it is someone you can let go to answer machine and call back at a more convenient time. For those contacts you know may be emergencies – you know as soon as the phone rings… [Note:You need caller id for this feature to work which is usually an extra feature you have to pay for monthly with your line rental provider]

3/ The Phone book update on this model allows you to have more than one number per contact. Which cuts down on the number of contacts….(Enough Said)

4/ Easy to transfer the call to another extension – ideal for businesses or a very large household

Overview: Panasonic have kept all the best features of previous models but really thought about what added features would stand out against the competition and included them all in this simple and excellently priced package. If you are looking for a solid make and design with simple but useful features this is definately the best one we have tried so far.

As I am blind, I love the talking caller ID on this phone, and my sighted partner likes a lot of the features mentioned in other reviews. I do struggle a bit with the flat buttons and would have found it easier to input telephone numbers if they had been a little more pebble shaped. I am giving this a 4 star rating as I know that visually impaired people are interested in this model.

Both units work very good. I didn’t need to do much settings, they worked the second I plugged them. I like that I could set different ring tones for outside calls and intercom. The sound is very good, it can be easily used on speakers and it has a hook to secure it in a pocket or at a belt. The answer machine is very easy to be used and allows several settings. The phone works great up to the back of the garden. I made sure though to respect the recommendation not to put it too close to tv, router or other electronic devices that could interfere and affect the quality of sound.

Golden Review Award: 808 From Our UsersIf you are looking for the ABSOLUTE BEST landline phone then you've just found it!!!
“Edit:August 2023: It’s been 7 years since I bought these phones and wrote the original review below and I’m delighted to report that I’ve had no issues whatsoever. I hope the review is helpful.” Many thanks.

This review is not sponsored by Panasonic or anyone else. I’m just a very keen user of this product and wanted to share my experiences.
These are my personal views based on my experience of finding the ultimate landline phone to stop spam callers. I’ve tried to be as broad minded as possible. I really hope you find it useful and please remember to click on the Helpful button. Many thanks.

This is the new 2015/16 top of the range product in its class from Panasonic.

It’s a little costly but I felt it was justified as I wanted something that was absolutely state of the art that will last many years.

    – You need to have caller ID in order to make use of the call blocking facility. Speak to your telephone company to activate this service on your line – sometimes this service is free of charge.
    – You don’t need to subscribe, pay or request the call blocking facility on your line as it’s ready to use as soon as you use this set.

    – I particularly like the talking caller ID display feature that speaks the users name this is a very useful function that also provides some light amusement. The ringer will pause intermittently while the phone speaks “Call from David for example”. It repeats the sequence until you pick up the handset or the call is transferred to the answer machine. This particular feature can be turned on or off.
    – I like the colour screen it is very clear. You have the option of having no screen showing when unit is charging useful for the bedroom.
    – There are plenty of ringtones to choose from although they are a little Old-fashioned. I found the traditional ring is more than adequate. – The general phone is fairly easy to set up and user-friendly, nice light and comfortable handset.
    – Phone directory is very easy to set up and access. You input the details just once and it will automatically list the info on every handset. Handy if you have several handsets. Each individual is categorised so you can give priority to VIPS i.e. Family members who will automatically bypass the DO NOT DISTURB facility.
    – Battery audible warning is very loud and will interrupt call to let you know you need to recharge the handset! You have time to finish your call or lift another handset. Useful.
    – You do get a helpful information booklet and also a free phone number in case of difficulty.
    – My only gripe is lack of instructions for setting up the Do Not Disturb feature. The idea is that you program certain favourite numbers for example family members who may wish to bypass the do not disturb facility.

    – Make sure you set ALL the phones to the Do Not Disturb feature at the same time, with the SAME do not disturb times.
    – You can then categorise certain selected numbers who you may want to reach you in an emergency.
    – It’s great now it works perfectly!
    – Anticipating a specific call from a Witheld number (ie hospital, Doctors’ surgery etc) isn’t an issue, simply temporarily turn off DO NOT DISTURB mode from a single handset. When the call is complete, simply reactivate DO NOT DISTURB on that particular handset. I’ve found this highly useful for important calls.

    – You can also add additional IDENTICAL handsets and can have up to a total of six all working from the main base unit. Phone directories will be automatically added to your new handsets once they have been registered to your original base.
(I bought the quad set and recently added on the duo set. Must admit to phoning Panasonic UK who quickly took me through the steps of de-registering the x2 new handsets and re-registering these to the original base. 2nd base is now acting solely as a charger with the answer facility turned off. You only need to plug in the 3 pin plug to the 2nd base as you don’t require the telephone cable).
Remember to copy in the SAME do not disturb times and ringtones on your additional handsets.
Sound quality and operation of handsets are not affected at all by having add ons.
I’m thrilled to bits with the new extended set up!

    – Call Blocker – Easy to use. Tested and works by cutting off blocked number so quickly that they don’t hear a single ring the line simply goes dead. Handset lists in your blocked calls with a symbol to show number was blocked and a time and date stamp.Blocks individual numbers, withheld number and also groups of numbers. For example you can block certain area codes if you find that you get many calls from a certain town or city. Useful. I also use a CPR call blocker (Amazon) for ultimate protection – which I believe is far better than the handset capability alone on the Panasonic blocking ALL international numbers, spoof calls, robo calls etc. (Costs vary depending on CPR model but bass models typically start at 40-50 one unit needed per household which plugs into main bass unit and covers all your extension handsets, quick and easy to attach to main unit and no running costs or fees).

(The Panasonic has limited call blocker capabilities and won’t block unavailable, international, spoof, calls).

I’d give this Panasonic phone 97% + for value for money. I’m delighted!
    ***********************************************************************************

    – Recommended manufacture Improvements needed:

-Do Not Disturb set up instructions

    – Improving Call Blocking facility capability – to pre include International and unavailable, spoof, robo numbers, single digit numbers. Also improvements needed to not only block groups of numbers ie particular area code EXCEPT those who are in your directory who you want to get through who share the same area code. (Currently blocks area codes but will block friends and family who share same area code).

    – Speed dialling of frequently used stored numbers using a single button not responsive

In conclusion this is a top of the range stylish and modern phone and would certainly recommend it for anyone looking for a phone that has everything you’d need for a landline.

********IMPORTANT UPDATE: 3/9/16. ******** Just wanted to brief you with an AMAZING trick that this phone is capable of! Ok so we now all know about call blocker, block the number and the call centres won’t reach you ever again using THAT number. But time and time again they will simply call you using a different number, spoof number, made up code, copycat area code etc to fool you into thinking its local and not some call centre abroad? Are you STILL plagued with calls? Jumping each time the phone rings? Getting disturbed during that important tv programme, football match, film or during mealtimes etc? Well I have found that if you simply put your “Do not disturb mode” on 24/7 then ONLY calls from your directory will get through. Anything else will ring silently and will be put through to answer machine (you won’t hear them speak either until you playback the message at your convenience) so withheld numbers and numbers not in your phones’ directory who are genuine can still leave you a message.
    – I advise that you start do not disturb mode at 0100 and end at 0059 (or any configuration of your choosing that lasts 23 hours and 59 minutes) then you are covered 24/7. As before, you will need to set ALL handsets to DO NOT DISTURB with the same times. Tip is to do x2 handsets simultaneously if you bought the quad or duo pack.
Go to “Do Not Disturb” and “Select Catagory” choose the same catagory that you have already put your friends and family in and this will allow their calls to bypass the Do Not Disturb facility.
    – This is WONDERFUL for people like me who live alone who worry about cold callers. Do this and you will ONLY ever hear the phone ringing to genuine callers in your directory! At LONG LAST I now have total control over my phone and it is real empowerment after all, I pay the phone bill. So it’s a case of heads you win, tails you win!

Thank you for reading this review. Please rate as helpful. Thank you so much!

Golden Review Award: 109 From Our UsersPanasonic KX-TGJ324EB
Our old set of phones were Panasonic and we loved them. However, they were getting rather old and we also started receiving the dreaded nuisance phone calls and decided to choose these Panasonic phones with call blocker to solve the problem. First and foremost the call blocker works a treat. The phone has a lot of options that may overwhelm anyone who does not cope well with technology – things like “do not disturb mode” background wallpapers, screen colour options and 40 ring tones to choose from. However, when the handsets have been set-up to your requirements they work similar to most cordless landline phones. The “do not disturb” mode will allow you to programme an individual handset so it has a time when it will not ring out, for example I programmed our bedroom phone so it will not ring out loud after 11pm. You can programme the handset so it will allow certain numbers to bypass the “do not disturb” mode and allow the handset to ring out, which is handy if you know someone who may need you in an emergency. My favourite feature on these phones is the intercom feature which allows any of the handset to phone each other. The intercom mode is great for phoning from the kitchen phone to the phone in my teenage children’s rooms to tell them dinner is ready rather than me having to shout up the stairs to no avail because they are wearing headphones. To be honest, the intercom mode is most useful for finding a handset that has been misplaced simply by ringing it. Using the intercom mode does not cost you any money as you are using the handset base to transmit the signal and not the landline. You can set up to 5 alarms/reminders on each handset which is handy. You can set the handsets and the base so that it speaks out loud the number of the person that is phoning you but only if you have caller ID. If the number and name of a person that is calling you is already stored on any of the handsets then you also have the option for the phone to speak the name of the person calling. When it speaks out the name of the person calling it does sound a little robotic but it does the job. I ordered the set with 4 handsets but it is possible to add another 2 handsets. Each handset takes 2 AAA rechargeable batteries which come supplied with the handsets. One more thing, to use the call blocker you must have caller ID with your landline provider.

These are great phones and I am really glad I chose them. However, if you only need a call blocker and not a new set of phones you may wish to click on the link below. On this link you will find a call blocker that is extremely easy to use and is designed to work with your existing landline phone. One big red button to press and the call is blocked. CPR 1200 Number Capacity Nuisance Call Blocker with Caller Display – Black

Update 19/5/2016. I have had these phones for a while now and I have noticed a couple of problems that I feel I have to point out to any prospective buyers. Firstly, There is absolutely no warning when the handsets batteries are about to run out, our old Panasonic handsets would beep about 10 minutes before the batteries in the handset would finally die. This has resulted in a couple of conversations being cut short because the batteries have died without warning. Secondly, the range of the handsets is great for anywhere inside our house but if I move 10 feet into the garden (which is then 30 feet from the base) I lose the signal. I still really like these phones despite the two faults I’ve just mentioned. However, I have reduced the star rating from 5 to 4 stars.

Update 1/7/16. My brother recently purchased these phones as he too started to receive up to 6 phone calls each day from charities, sales people and P.P.i cold callers. Even after blocking countless numbers the calls kept coming. I resorted to setting his phone to permanent (almost permanent) “do not disturb mode”. First I set the “do not disturb” start time to 12:00am and the finish time at 11:59pm. Then I selected which categories of numbers I wish to get through to ring out – which is all of the categories from 1 – 9. You have to do this for each individual handset and remember to switch the ringer on the base off. This means that people who’s names and numbers are not stored in the handsets will not make the phone ring out, you will however see the phone light up and the number of the person calling you displayed.

The reason my brother was getting so many nuisance calls is because he answered the phone to a “telephone survey” person whom then took all the information he gave them and sold it on to numerous companies. These “surveys” are not gathering harmless information and although they may tell you that you will remain anonymous – you certainly won’t. If they have called you then they obviously have your phone number, once they get your post code, marital status, age range and discover if you are a homeowner or not there is and awful lot of information for companies to work with. Six days after completing a “telephone survey” my brother received countless charity phone calls, P.P.i calls and calls from “equity release” sales people.

Sorry this review has ended up so long.
