I’m really pleased with these, I thought I’d try them out but was a bit hesitant as they are expensive. But the shop bought cheap ones don’t last and it was frustrating how wasteful they are. So I’m really pleased as my first seep is doing the job, is nice and soft with use but not showing much wear at all. So I believe it will last ages, more eco, and worth the investment! Yay!

I have bought a number of Eco scourers so I wasn’t expecting much but these actually scour things as well as a plastic one. They are hard wearing. I dropped a star as it does get less scratchy as you use it. But then so do plastic ones. I will buy them agai

Last bought six months ago and am now on the last one so have just re-ordered. I wash our dishes every night so these are pretty durable! I think they’re great – way better than I ever expected and way better than cheap unnatural ones in supermarkets. I’m a convert and will stick to seep as I’m 100% happy with them!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersEverything about these sponges are good – they really clean dishes and pots well. The rounded corners clean those baking tin corners.
They wash beautifully in the dishwasher. These were bought quite a few weeks ago – only needed to use the one – still using it – they last ages and are a cost effective investment in the longer run. And much kinder to our planet.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI love the these can be popped in the dishwasher, keeping the germs at bay, they are made of a sustainable material and work just the same as the other sponges but are environmentally friendly

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe have used a pack of these for 18 months. They have been through the washing machine lots of times and are now very worn out. Much longer lasting than expected and we are totally converted. Highly recommended.

Only been using a couple of weeks but think they are better quality than the standard plastic washing sponges I have used in the past and feel they will be longer lasting. They are considerably more expensive but do prefer them and they are much better for the environment so think I will continue to use them.

Great alternative to cheap landfill plastic sponges. They wash repeatedly and when you consider their cost vs the competition they hold up pretty well. I wish I’d come across them sooner.

I don’t have a dishwasher, so I’m always doing dishes by hand. I’ve been using these for just over a month—the first one is still going strong and hasn’t deteriorated at all.
The loofah is slightly less effective at scrubbing really stuck on food, but I just soaked a little longer. Very happy and will purchase again.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersHaving used traditional sponges for many years I thought I’d give these a try in order to be a bit more ‘eco-friendly’.

They are a lot more expensive than normal sponges but given they can be composted, I think I might be sold.

Initially the sponges are quite stiff and it takes a few days to loosen up to get a good clean on dishes. I find they last up to around 6 weeks however after this they do start to come apart – similarly washing sharp knives can lead to multiple cuts in the sponge, meaning they don’t last as long, so care if needed.

Overall they’re a reasonable swap if you want to avoid single use plastics but they aren’t as robust as normal sponges and don’t last as long.

Love these sponges, knowing there is no plastic involved.
The rougher bit is strong enough to clean, but not so that it would scratch, which is brilliant.
The sponge is not too thick and remains flexible for those hard to reach spaces.
And it is compostable, so very happy with this product!

I wanted to reduce my plastic consumption that contributes to plastic landfill and found these sponges through the Modern Milkman. Great value when bought in a pack through Amazon. I like the durability of the sponge/loofah sides. I love that all the material can be popped into the compost bin when finished with. Just cut into 1cm cubes and compost.

    I really like these sponges.

The best thing about them is that they fall apart when they’ve been well used. In my home that’s at least three months.

These are not designed to last forever – that is the point. I would definitely use these and buy a few more of them than return to plastic sponges.

These are great for gentle cleaning and work well on most food build up and stains.

My only negative is that the size and shape is a little unwieldy so I ended up cutting the first one I used in half. There again I now have double the amount so it’s better value.

I could never go back to a plastic sponge knowing that it is gradually disintegrating into our waterways. This is a lovely thing to hold and behold, does the job beautifully. Does break up eventually but certainly no quicker than a plastic sponge, and then it can go into the compost. Win win.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from these but I’ve been very happy so far. They are expensive but I thought I’d try them in an effort to cut down on plastics. The scrubber side hold up well to pan scrubbing but there’s nothing on the packaging to say if they’re machine washable which is a shame. If you’re willing to pay to be more eco friendly then I’d say these are worth a try.

A great replacement for cheap plastic sponges; they last for months. Annoyed at getting through those packs of sponge scourers at the rate of one or two a week & all the plastic waste that entails. I thought I’d splash some cash on an eco-alternative. They work really well, and last for a couple of months if looked after.

I’ve only been using it for a week but I’m impressed so far. The scourer side is tough enough to remove stubborn bits but doesn’t scratch and the softer side is perfect for washing up. It’s a bit small to grip but that actually helps when washing smaller items.

I haven’t put it in the washing machine yet so I can’t comment on that. I have tried a few other eco friendly alternatives to the traditional yellow and green plastic sponge and, so far, this is the best.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI was pleasantly surprised by Seep sponges as they are better and longer lasting than I expected. The cellulose sponge side is as good as ‘normal’ washing up sponges and the loofah side does a fair job of scrubbing. I admit the loofah is not quite as good as the ‘normal’ version but is good enough.

The Seep sponges are more robust and actually last longer than the usual type and don’t degrade and go soft.

They are supposed to be compostible so I’ll cut them up after they are finished and put them in my compost bin to see.

Overall I’m.impressed with these sponges and will definitely be switching to the more sustainable option.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWho would have thought a sponge could be so exciting? I’ve been using the normal non stick sponge/scourers for years. Even the better quality ones, used for cups and glasses only, start looking manky within a matter of days and have to be demoted for use for saucepans/ outside.
I bought a pack of theses SEEP sponges back in July and weeks – yes weeks – later, I’m still using the first one. No dishwasher so everything done by hand. I’ve chucked it in the washing machine a couple of times and it’s still going strong.
Took a few days to become flexible and is starting to fall apart now, but is still brilliant white after all this time and there is no bad odour at all.
So lasting several times longer than the standard ones and won’t cause any pollution when it’s done. Fantastic.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI was slightly apprehensive to spend so much on sponges after reading reviews some saying they split. I’ve used one for two weeks and have no sign of deterioration whatsoever. I have a dishwasher so mainly use these for pots and pans. I always soak my pots well before washing and these clean them well. They are a bit stiffer but it doesn’t bother me. I’ve washed some cups etc also and they work well. They might not be suitable for your finest wineglasses but maybe for those, just use a sponge. For really tough burnt food I just got coconut scourer which works wonders.
So in a nutshell. These a good. They have enough scraping power for pots, just have a coconut scourer for really tough stains and a cloth or sponge only for fine glasses.
Some people complained about food getting caught in them. Any bits are easily rinsed off if you turn the sponge rough side down and rinse under running water. No problem.
They look nice. My boyfriend immediately said he loves the look of it and so I gave him one to take home. The obvious reason for buying is they contain no plastic. These type of products are ridiculously expensive though and that’s why they’ll never become mainstream until something drastic happens with the prices. I hope that drastic happens.
I will update this review if I find they don’t live up to expectation. If there’s no update, it means I’m happy with them.
UPDATE: The sponges are still fine, but I actually bough some plain loofah and cut it up in flat rectangles. It makes a fantastic sponge for much cheaper. I actually prefer plain loofah to the sponge fused ones as it’s soft and moulds to the hand like ordinary sponge. Natural loofah cut up also has a soft side and rough side. And can be washed in dishwasher. They’ll last forever. I’m a natural plain loofah convert. Sorry Seep.

This sponge is great. It takes a couple of uses to get bendy but after that its lovely to wash up with. I even put mine in the dishwasher and it came out clean and ready to go again. The sponge on it is great and leaves no excess water on the sideboard when wiping them down. So much better than disposable sponges. We’ve been using it for 2 weeks and it’s holding up well as we do a fair bit of washing up with having kids lol. I believe that this will last for the time that is advertised. I think this is one of the best out there to buy for longevity and we’ve tried few different ones and this is far superior to the ones we have tried. Thankyou seep for this product .

Have tried a number of eco friendly sponges to replace the disposable ones with all the plastic and these are the best by far. Scub side stays attached for ages. We got about 3 months use out of one (only 2 of us in the household, so not loads of dishes). Got the bulk of food off using a scrubber as found some bits can get stuck under the loofer, but with a bit of a soak first everything cleans off brilliantly. Can be washed or boiled to sanitise. Will definitely be buying again.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersLike a normal washing-up sponge though the scour bit is a little soft. Washes well in washing machine and still on first one from the pack. More hygienic than the traditional sponges and lasts longer. So even if they weren’t greener than the non-green, green scourers I normally buy, they’d be a win.
