as a plumber I use lots of this to add to a heating system to scale and de sludge noisy boilers, easy to add, drain it out after a few weeks then add some inhibitor and job done.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAfter trying F3 and X400 for a month each and flushing in between decided to give X800 a go at trying to warm up some large double radiators with cold bottoms. The system has 10mm microbore pipes and is pressurised at 1 bar.

I was advised by plumber to remove rads and flush them through in the garden, they said powerflush be waste of time too, not enough flow with 10mm pipes. I thought I would give two bottles a go in a 21 radiator system.

Well six hours in and the radiators are all toasty warm from tip to toe with the pump running on its fastest setting. Now for the fun of draining and flushing but feels satisfying knowing the X800 has delivered.

Brilliant product and ready for putting in X100 inhibitor once system is flushed.

Just drained the system header tank, added the cleaner, and refilled. After leaving the system on for a few hours I drained it, flushed it, and now it’s much quieter and hopefully more efficie

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersMy Combi Boiler was Kettleing/Knocking when showering or filling the kitchen sink, I mentioned it when the boiler was serviced and plumber said the plate heat exchanger to heat the water was blocked with limescale and needed replacing, obviously you don’t buy a new kettle when it gets bit of limescale on the element!
So I opted for this treatment.
Best way I could think to add the liquid was the towel heater as it has a nice big fill plug on the top of it and easy access too. I closed both the inlet valves to the towel rail and drained half of the water using the top plug as an tap to control the flow. Once 2 litres out I poured in the treatment refitted the plug and opened the valves, switched on the boiler to circulate the treatment, turned on the hot water tap on to make sure it would clean the plate heat exchanger, 24 hours on there is no knocking or ketteiling, lovely perfect shower at the perfect temperature. Now working out how to drain the treatment out. I will update ASAP. Hope this helps a compitant DIY.. “I can do this” person. Or get a plumber in.
Update… Draining the cleaning agent was easier than I thought possible as the towel rail plug is 15mm thread, all I needed to do was close the valves (both in and out) fit a 15mm thru joint with a small piece of 15mm pipe into the plug as mentioned and add a bit of garden hose to go into the loo, the tricky bit was putting the heating valves to fill and opening the towel rail valves so it would flush out the cleaning agent. I did 3 clean flushes till the CH water was clear. Don’t forget to do the same process again with the inhibitor to ensure you don’t need to do it again soon!

The effects of this cleaning product inside a heating system is largely unseen. So it’s hard to give a review that’s directly related the products performance. This review is purely based on trusting that the product has done its job effectively.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersAfter running the heating system for one week with the Sentinel added and then completely draining the whole system and doing two flushes the system now works perfectly, each radiator (11 in total) has the recommend temperature drop.
Added the inhibitor and it’s now all systems go! Great valve for the price.

used this at same time as changing pump and 3 way valve to flush out anything that may have been in the pipes after changing parts. performed 3 flushes and heating is working a treat.

Input it in my radiator system to clean the sludge on advice from a plumber friend, I flushed the system and the sludge was considerably less (probably) as the radiator s seem to heat all over. Wonderful.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersInstructions say to leave it in the system for an hour. So I do what any responsible homeowner does and I leave it in for two weeks*. When I drain the system down again, all the debris in the system has been atomised and the water is a consistent dark grey, making it easy to drain out. Additionally this was the perfect opportunity to fit a Sentinel Eliminator and bung a bottle of X100 into the loop too. System is running fine now, the cold spots on the radiators are gone, and the kettling noises from the boiler have stopped.

*Sentinel themselves say there is no upper time limit on leaving it in the system as it won’t damage any parts of the CH system.

used this before to clean system ,works really good, give it a try before buying parts for your boiler, sludge and particles can cause blockages , this stuff can break it down and clean your system. one of the best there is i think.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI am impressed with this. Following some online instructions I drained my system first, which took forever. I began to think that the whole system is badly set up and the drain tap was somehow in the wrong place, but having refilled the system with this cleaner in (added via a radiator at the top of the house) and run it for an hour a day for three days I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly the system now drained. Clearly some sludge had been moved.

On then completing the job and filling up with fresh water then running the system for the first time the radiators that were usually a bit rubbish and prompted me to clean in the first place suddenly started working much better.

I am very impressed with how well this has helped my system. It will be my product of choice for future cleans, which I might actually do a bit more often.

I was a bit apprehensive as the bottle seemed to have a small hole in the lid, however what a brilliant bit of kit, I have had problems with a blocked heating pipe, this cleared it within 6 hours, Wife is made up that the bedroom now has a working radiator.
