My son is a great swimmer. We had a pair of goggles from Aldi which were amazing (I’d recommend you keep an eye out for them) but they snapped on holiday. So I got him these and they are by far the best he has ever had

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGood quality product as usual, have been using these goggles for several years and they never let you down. They last about 2-3 years on average, and that’s swimming 3-4 times every week.

I swim once a week for an hour. It doesn’t get foggy and doesn’t hurt around my eyes. I am very happy. It looks like a little bit an old fashion product like from 80s-90s but does the job beautifully.

I have had these goggles for several months now. I wanted a goggle that did not sit on the eye socket as I started to get unsightly black eyes all day after swimming and also headaches from wearing them. I swim three times a week for 45 mins to an hour, without stopping unless my goggles are faulty. I previously had a pair of aquaseal goggles in a similar design, which were good – but the seal failed entirely after three months. These have been great for about eight months, they often go for an entire swim without significant leaking (whereby you have to stop and adjust). They do fog after a while, but if I have a bit of water inside I use it to wash the fog away, or it will sometimes clear on it’s own. I have found after time the anti-fig works less and less. I also have to take care with my swim cap that it doesn’t overlap the seal or the goggles will leak. So it is a bit of a faff to put the goggles on, and get the seal just right. If it’s too far up the nose, the seal does break quickly. I think they are now at the end of their natural life. My last couple of swims they have flooded several times (with no change to anything else). For the price, I wish they had lasted longer, but they outlasted my previous pair by over double the amount of time. The other downside is they are very large profile and aesthetically ugly. The profile on your face is big, and they can occasionally bring a big amount of water up with them (especially breast stroke) that then floods your face as you’re taking your in breath. I find this particularly annoying. In summary: they have been good goggles, their effectiveness out weighing how ugly and large I find them. They do leave ‘sock marks’ on your forehead that take a while to disappear. No amount of adjustments have worked for me to stop that, but for me it is better than black eyes all day. They are also very comfortable. I will probably replace these like-for-like, but this due to lack of options in this style. The only other model I have seen that looks decent has reviews that suggest they do not work so great for those with a narrower face. Four stars only as I wish they were lower profile.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI have used these googles for years now as the smaller ones left a distinct pressure mark all around my eyes after use, these are great for older people where the skin around your eyes are delegate

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI have had several pairs of these. I swim 3/5 times a week and use these all the time. I wear a swimming hat and you have to make sure that the hat isn’t on the seal otherwise they will leak. They do get steamed up after several hard lengths but i haven’t found a pair that doesn’t. I will carry on buying these as they fit well and are comfortable and don’t leave rings around your eyes.

    Speedo Biofuse Rift Mask Goggles

I swim outdoors all year round – just back from a bracing swim on the south Devon coast at Lyme Regis followed by a hearty breakfast at Swim. Face masks like this give much better visibility than traditional goggles. However, fit is key. The mask won’t stick if you’ve got moisturiser on your face and, when it’s cold, as it can be in the winter months, you’ll need to put on your goggles then put your silicone swim cap and neoprene cap over the seal, to ensure there’s a seal and make sure you avoid ice-cream head! I’ve found I just couldn’t get a seal with this mask when in the water, even though it makes a seal in the dry. Perhaps it’s a mask designed for men, or women with larger heads.

These days, I tend to take goggles with me around my neck in case the sea gets particularly choppy, but you only really need eye protection from chlorine in pools.
