Very good handheld CB Radio, it has FM UK, FM Cept Europe channels and AM. It’s great to be back on the airwaves again. I used to be on the CB in the 70’s right upto the 90’s. If I was you I would buy an Telescopic Ariel you will get much further on it.
You can change the display but to be honest I like the screen that it’s set on.
You need to adjust the squelch first off. I have mine set to 11, so only the strongest signals come through.
I’m very pleased with the CB
The Handset, alike all Thunder Pole products are top quality electronic equipment.
Currently not many people using these Radios these days due to Mobile phone technology.
However if you have a specific requirement for using long range Radios IE , Site teams within a 5mile local radious , work great and cost nothing to use , use your own private code to each other for GDPR security purposes
First TX I received was permanently transmitting when I switched on. Luckily I had connected the antenna first. I returned that immediately and received my refund all in the same day so I was able to reorder. Just received my new T-X. This time on opening the box I find the handset is already switched on and obviously with no antenna attached. I’m guessing my order was checked before dispatch which is fine though I would have appreciated the handset had been switched OFF before repacking. Also it was placed back in the box with the front of the handset facing outward. Thankfully the parcel wasn’t bashed about in transit or didn’t appear so. I would suggest the handset be wrapped in at least a poly bag or bubble wrap to prevent movement in transit. Anyway I’m just waiting for the battery to charge so I can check the T-X is working fine. Personally I can’t see the PTT getting pushed while boxed but better safe than sorry.
Apart from that I really like this little walkie. A nice easy to read display and simple to use. My 3rd Thunderpole and I’d say this is much easier to navigate round the bands than the T600 or T2000 that I already have. Looking forward to getting out with this and giving it a whirl on higher ground. Just need the car adapter now.
