Video Capture Card, HDMI to USB Capture Card, 4k Capture

I am not actually sure of what it does except for allow you to attach it to the ear phone socket and computer USB. You can then use a third party software to record the input channel it has been allocated by the computer and record the tape into a file format. They give you an old freeware version of Audacity but that’s it.
You could just run a stereo jack from the ear phone to the sound card line in socket.
However one of the benefits of the USB is you can use your computers sound system, watch a movie, play a game, and record the tape at the same time in silence.

This is a good capture card and it worked great and is pretty good quality too. It’s usb 2 and the type c adapter is usb 3 I’m pretty sure which is nice. Overall this works well and is pretty good.

As someone who creates content such as video game capture and unboxing videos, having something like this which is small, pocket size but also recognisable by well known and used software such as OBS makes this a ridiculously handy accessory to use and have. Whilst I have true capture cards I rely on, having a spare or just something I can take with me to events to capture gameplay recordings is amazing. Picture quality was good, easily captured and was recognised at 4K and the software detected it as a capture source straight away. I may not rely on this as my main capture device, but it works and it does the job.

Nice little device that’s not too difficult to use. It’s not completely plug and play needs a software install but that doesn’t take long to install and update. Once installed it doesn’t take long to figure out how to work it all. Xbox plugged in easy enough and I was able to record from that, also tried recording from my camera and played around with an old video set which worked too. Simple, effective and good value.

I tried to use OBS for recording my game play. Yea, it works, but not happymaking on my weak machines.
The games need usually a lot of the PC power, and then adding the task for recording can be a bit too much if the PC is not an overdose of machine.
So, what I use now is the laptop for gaming, a real HDMI splitter (same image on both out), which one out goes to my larger monitor (this can be skipped if you play on the laptop screen), and the other to this capture card. The card goes then into another computer, which does nothing else then recording.
That means the laptop doesn’t even have anything else to do than gaming.
The recording computer could do also the sound and the streaming, which both needs less PC power than the game.
Is my older USB A 2.0 PC now good enough? Although the plugs are blue, see images too, the manual says USB 2.0 only. That may be just fine, the max resolution on the record side is HD, and it may be less depending on how good you want it on the stream.
