I was a little worried buying these as some people have suffered with driver problems, but they went in my 10yr-old Lenovo desktop no bother and worked “out-of-the box”. I didn’t need the driver’s supplied on CD as my PC downloaded the latest Intel drivers, but tried them anyway and they worked exactly the same as the official Intel ones – which I used in the end as they are updated automatically.

Excellent range, speed and coverage on the Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth is better for walking around the house with headphones on than my old dongle. Ideal for a two-bedroomed terraced house – including the back yard where my tablet was fine during the sunny spell we had last week. The product is a low-profile PCI-E x1 card, which meant it fitted my small form-factor computer perfectly by changing the regular plate with the low-profile one supplied.

NOTE: Check your motherboard has the spare USB header required for Bluetooth power before you order, otherwise you may be disappointed as the Bluetooth won’t work without it. Mine does, so anyone else with a Lenovo ThinkCentre M80 series PC should have no bother at all.

Bought to replace an age-ing, failing incumbent. The old card had stopped recognizing the network shortly after changing from win 10 to win 11. After a chat with my IT confidante I suggested simply changing the card as the cost was so low. He recommended this card which I promptly ordered and installed and the problem was solved. This card, he tells me, has the Intel chipset which should be a pre-requisite for everybody. It also has a raft of up to date features that my old card did not. Rather frustratingly my old card worked on his network but intermittently rejected my eeros mesh setup. Anyway, 25 quid later and my wifi is back to blistering pace and I can only rate this card as excellent. Whilst this was a renewal it also has incidental performance increases which benefit my workflow.
Hardware installation was easy (I’ve done network cards many times anyway) and this one came with an optional Bluetooth cable. Clear instructions made this simply to install too. Pre-empting a lack of connection to the internet prior to the installation of the card, a cdrom is also included, on which resides the necessary drivers for wifi and Bluetooth. With hardware and software quickly and easily I was back up and running at full tilt in 10-15 minutes.
Whilst it’s somewhat aggravating to have to buy new hardware for an apparently non-existent problem (the old one still worked, just not on my network), one has to accept that compatibility does expire from time to time, and this was a quick, cheap and effective fix that is outperforming the old card by a margin and will no doubt see me right for a number of years to come.

Having bought a similar one which was just a nightmare to use, no drivers, no instructions just wouldn’t work.

This was plug and play. I expected to be at least updating something or installing drivers but I didn’t have to do anything. WiFi and Bluetooth worked immediately:)

    Discounted price too

I found this fiddly to install, it took two attempts and currently the screws are not in the bracket, although the antenna keep it anchored in place. This is not so much an issue with the card, but rather the non-standard cube shaped case of the 8 year old, hand-me-down PC I put it in. CD was useless, not having a CD drive, I tried running it in my external DVD blueray drive, but it wouldn’t fit. Fortunately I could run a network cable to the machine temporarily in order to download the intel driver, after which the machine recognized the card and it started working as intended. Internet is stable and downloads/uploads at similar speeds to the wired cable. I should note that it is a very small flat, the router is in the next room, approximately 3 meters away, although the dividing wall is solid brick, not plasterboard.

Been using this device for a month. The WiFi is flawless, always get 260 Mbps without issues on 5 Hz network, but you may need better antennas though (with default antennas I was getting about 80 Mbps).

The Bluetooth also worked for couple of weeks, but now it’s keeping disconnecting when doing high power demanding tasks. I tried everything from reinstalling intel drivers to clean installing windows, nothing helped. Seems to be either a device malfunction, or intel/windows bad power management.

So, I’m kinda in the limbo now: can’t return the item because I need the access to the internet and this product was awesome on this part. On the other hand, can’t use the Bluetooth, which is also very important to me. The partial refund would solve my dissatisfaction (to order additional usb adaptor), but as far as I know it’s not possible on Amazon.

So would give 4/5 for WiFi (because of the small antennas) and 1/5 for Bluetooth= 2.5/5 overall.

P.S. now the Bluetooth functionality completely gone.

P.P.S it seems, that there were no issues with the card itself, but rather with the AMD 5000-G Ryzen series and PCIE bandwidth, when GPU is added. After updating to the new CPU, everything works fine. So, I’ll give 2 stars back. Soild 4/5. Would give 5/5 for the better antennas.

The WiFi strength is great, i get my full speed potential with it. I had a more expensive Asus WiFi card before and that worked perfectly but it did not have bluetooth built in. The bluetooth range on this card could be better in my opinion as i had a cheap bluetooth dongle that had much better range. Overall i’m happy with this but i had to connect my old WiFi card to download the drivers as my windows 10 PC did not automatically install the drivers needed to run the WiFi and bluetooth and i do not have a CD drive in my PC (who does in this day and age)
