Great camera at low price point!
Easy to set up and quality images straight to your phone, had other cctv systems in the past that don’t come any where near the ease of use and quality of this particular camera. Very impressed and will purchase again!!
Igeek battery camera
Bought this handy wee bit of kit and I’m definitely going to purchase another for bk of my house night vision is great camera lights up in colour if activated at night very easy to install im am delighted
would buy agai
After reading the reviews on security cameras , i came across i geek, so i decided to try it out , i was pleasantly surprised , the quality of the picture was really good , and also you can just use an sd card to record. I would recommend this camera
Best camera I have had ye
OK was sceptical about this budget price item however I was surprised and delighted at the quality battery life and 5 minute set up straight out of the box far better than ones a have tried at three times the price app based storage very reasonable if you want to go that route top marks
IeGeek 2k 360° wireless security camera.
Easy to install.Good quality camera vision day and night, with good field of vision. Good value for money. It was the excellent reviews that promted us to purchase this product. We haven’t been disappointed.
Excellent Camera
Hard wired, excellent camera, brilliant service team they were very helpful. I have the camera on my Android phone app and on Win11. Nice to be able to check camera remotely with mobile phone. Highly recommend
Excelle
Purchased this for the outside of our lodge in Wales and to be honest it’s exceeded everything I expected of it. It was pretty painless to fit and set up and with the solar panel we have had ZERO problems with it being charged day and night. I wish I could say the same with our Google solar nest cam.
ieGeek cameras are always superb value for money
I have had an IE20 model for a number of years and found it to be very good, and have persuaded a few friends and neighbours to follow my lead, as it is a far cheaper solution than a popular doorbell brand currently offer. However, I think the recent bad weather finally got the better of the IE20 camera, so I opted to replace it and upgrade to the IE66 with 6Mb resolution. This was a significant improvement on the IE20, but I found I could not use the IE66 model with the CamHipro application on a phone or PC. You have to use an ieGeek app that has less functionality. I have another older ieGeek camera in use, and want to use both cameras on the same app. If an IE66 is your first and only ieGeek camera then you may be OK. I’ve returned the IE66 as incompatible, and purchased another IE20 that I’ve since installed and that works fine.
Dont be fooled thinking it looks mickey mouse its grea
we bought this as a lambing can aid, i can use it at night in b&w or turn on spot light and use in colour, its really a great little cam, zooms quite far, talk back works good, i cant comment on the motion detection as i dont have it turned o
It works well!
I bought this to keep an eye on my property when I’m away. It works well. I will say the product is larger than I thought it would be (I’m sure it specifies size in the description, so clearly I didn’t pay enough attention, but bear in mind it is quite big). It was easy to install and sync with the app. I am happy and would recommend this security camera for domestic use.
Brilliant aftersales
This was bought to replace a Blink camera as it has superior night time quality. It iseasy to set up and because of its movable body it can be set to view exactly where you need to. Unfortunately the solar panel was not charging correctly but after answering a few questions by the seller the defective part was, replaced without a quibble. The support team were very quick and polite.
Top camera!!!
The camera was easy to set up and install with the step by step guide. App is simple to use and offers a range of things to tinker with like volume, alarm area, lighting etc. Camera allows me to keep a view on my dog kennel, night and day vision is great, can zoom in via pinching screen which greatly assists. Am so impressed with it I’ve ordered a second one to go by the back door, which will allow full garden coverage and peace of mind, a top product for the money !!!
Good camera never had to charge i
I have paid 3 times for the years subscription and it forgets i paid the subscription overall i wouldnt go with igeek again the company has way to many bugs in their system they still need to fix but over all camera its self is good had it months now and is still fully charged with the panel
Does exactly as descriptio
Hi all, I have had this camera up and running for a week now the picure quality is good, infrared night vision is great and full colour mode works well too. The camera also moves well from app instructions. The camera has also been out in heavy rain and temperatures as low as -2 degrees Celsius and has had no problems. I positioned the camera around 25 meters from router and always has a 90%-100% signal, can’t really ask for better than that I think. The camera is a 12 volt mains powered unit but I have it working off of a 12 volt car battery with an in line 12 volt regulator that obviously voids warranty but good to know its possible. Only thing that let’s it down a little is its quite a big unit, would have been better half the size.
Great camera with exceptional features
This camera is well rounded with features that enable clear and precise monitoring. It definitely performs as described and all the features work seamlessly. Would highly recommend this camera to anyone looking for a truly quality wireless camera system.
Great picture quality and very well made.
Good picture quality, and a very well put together piece of equipment.
Many good features available on cloud, but can operate easily through sd card. Very happy with the purchase and would recommend.
Wifi solar Iegeek camera
At first I was undecided between reolink and iegeek camera. Im more than happy with choosing iegeek. The app is so easy to use, and took very little time to install and get up and running.
Very impressed!!
Beyond pleased with this!
The app is straight forward (though needs a native English speaker to re-write parts, as a lot of it seems like literal translations were used).
The camera quality is fantastic on this – dont expect 4k resolution, but I’ve seen a lot of CCTV footage, and this is better by far than the standard the police are used to!! You can certainly see what’s happening very well, even making out facial features clearly which is essential for evidence if needed.
I would definitely recommend this one, 5*. Be sure to get an SD card, though!
It's good.
Well this is a good bit of kit. Being a sixty odd year old bloke I struggled to set it up. Luckily I’ve got a wizard IT neighbour who sussed it in no time. I’m loving it. So far.
Excellent Product When Properly Installed
I don’t often write product reviews but thought this one was worth sharing my experience.
The secret to this impressive security camera is firstly to thoroughly read the installation instructions. Initially it all seems a bit confusing and I did have a few problems to start with. The proximity to your router is vital, as if installed too far from the router, the WiFi signal becomes unstable. I moved my camera closer and the camera performed better but still lost the WiFi signal occasionally. I then adjusted the position of the aerials and finally found a hot-spot which resolved the problem. It took me about a week to get the ideal position and since then the camera has performed faultlessly. Would I recommend this product, definitely, but be prepared for a period of getting to know how to get the best out of this product. Unbelievable technology at such a low price.
Reliable and excellent value.
This is the 5th iGeek camera that I’m using, 4th PTZ.
The first camera was a little tricky to set up, but after getting familiar with the software the rest were easy. The customer services are fast and efficient. I had a little trouble with my solar PTZ Camera, reference the siting of the panel. But it was an easy alteration to the system to enable the panel to work at 100% efficiency.
Brillia
Bought 2 of these. They were easy to install. The instructions are very easy and straightforward to follow. Love the fact they have intelligent tracking as I can cover where I need to withouth the need of 4 cameras. The picture is clear and so is the Audio. Absolutely no complaints about these at all I have paid dearer in the past and these were to replace them as I didn’t want all the wires anymore and I have to say they are so much better. I am really pleased with my purchase
Works really well
We have this camera and solar panel at our front door. It has a bright white light at night, voice option to speak to someone and an easy to use app. Make sure your wifi signal where you place it is strong as it won’t work. We have installed the app on our apple iPhone, it took 5 minutes to set up once we had attached it to our wall, which took 15 minutes. We keep the notifications on and have angled the camera to look at our front door and gate. It’s great to be able to watch who is coming to our door when we are away. Highly recommended!
Easy to install and set up
I have bought this camera just before going in holiday for my peace of mind. The picture quality is brilliant and even zooming in a decent distance keeps a good useable picture. The app was easy to set up on my phone and the installation of the camera was simple,no cables or wires needed. So far the battery life has been good.Voice communication enabled, bright LED light and audible alarm all available to use or disable if so wished. Brilliant product and well worth the money paid for it.
Worth a look a
Brought this camera to cover my shead and garden. arrived in good time easy to setup. comes with everything you heed to put in place. The pictures quality is reay good.and you can rotate the camera round from your phone.it can record or take photos at the click of a button.try it you have nothing to lose only gain a good camera..
Excellent security feature at very good price
On delivery The security camera was very well packaged and contained clear instructions for use. It was easy to install an set up. Whilst you can charge it in-situ, it’s easier to remove it from the mount, charge it and then refit.
Using the camera app it’s very easy to use the security features such as view field, angle, zoom, sound and motion detection. The alarm and recording feature are very good. I would recommend fine tuning the motion sensitivity (a trial and error process ,because at first, with a cold outside air temperature, it would alarm on detection of the exhaust plume from the gas boiler outlet) .
Great quality pictures in daylight and very reasonable pictures with night vision.
Overall a really good product.
Good Camera for cost but lacks Zoom
Bought this camera as a cheap replacement for a 3 year old failed Jennov P22HT55. It lacks a bit of picture quality and zoom, but all good and very happy for the cost. Very pleased that it connects to my existing CCTV software which monitors my other cameras, and the tracking is more responsive.
Like many I’m sure, I was very hesitant about WiFi cameras, having only had hard wired systems with a DVR before.
I bought two of these solar PTZ cameras, along with two 128gb SD cards for storage. Each camera was fitted in less then 10-15 mins, the software was a doddle to download & setup on my WiFi & touch wood….I’ve been played around with the cameras via the app to familiarise myself with them & set them up just how I want them & they’re pretty amazing so far. Picture quality is more than adequate on SD (standard definition), but change it to the QHD & the images just pop! Superb quality, both day & night. If I don’t catch the person who’s dumping stuff in my skip now, there’s no hope! . Obviously the long term test will really determine how good these cameras are, but to date – couldn’t be happier with my purchase! Might even think about getting a third. The fact they Pan/Tilt/Zoom via the app is amazing. Even away from home, the app connects to my cameras immediately. Alot better than some of the bigger name brands with a DVR I’ve used previously.
Easy to install, setup & operate – what more could you want?
23sep23 follow up feedback – Cameras still going strong, even bought a third one now. Really can’t fault them
Two years ago, I bought and fitted a very similar camera that uses all the same fittings but from another company – COOAU. That camera was mostly okay until the last few months, when it would drop the router wifi connection and I would have to resync the camera, meaning getting the ladders out. And this happened while I was away from the home on holiday, which was not good at all. I had bought the solar charging version, so wanted to be able to reuse the panel. This new unit uses the very same wall fittings and solar panel (which surely means there is some connection between the companies????), so I decided to buy it and give it a try. It is far superior to the previous unit, in terms of picture quality and stability of connection to the router. I upgraded to both AI shape recognition (7.99/annum) and 30-day, high quality video cloud storage (25/annum). The former I am not convinced is overly beneficial for me, but the latter is. It is usually faster, via the phone app, to review cloud-hosted video than it is camera SD card-hosted recordings (although the latter obviously do not expire after 30 days). In common with the previous camera, the unit sometimes misses action because after it has been triggered, it won’t trigger again for a few seconds, even if you have set it to no delay between triggers in the settings. I set mine to a 10-second/video recording session, so it would be possible to set the video capture time for a longer, which may alleviate that issue. It also sometimes triggers late, especially for moving vehicles, although I am still testing sensitivity levels, so there is scope to alter this. Colour night vision is fantastic, with much more detail captured than with the previous camera. This colour night vision feature is supported by the unit’s inbuilt lights that come on when the unit triggers in hours of darkness (you don’t have to use them, but then only get black and white images with less detail). The lights themselves are usefull in making the target-hardening of the property clear to any would-be n’er-do-wells. When set to highest, QHD video quality, which mine is, the captured detail is very good. Having had this unit for about a month now, I am very pleased with it. And it comes with a two-year warranty, so I am hoping for a more long-term and reliable set-up versus the previous unit. I would recommend this product.
Generally a good camera;
It is quiet big but the functions make it worthwhile.
Mine has lost the memory settings 2 or 3 times which is irritating but easily replaced using my phone. The “follow a person” feature is good, but not perfect, it has got stuck on full rotation once or twice instead of returning to position 1.
I have this camera to enhance an existing cctv setup, I couldn’t get the camera to show up with the others on a monitoring screen however for more than a second unfortunately, I tried several times and gave up. The camera is still worth having though and I would recommend it despite the above.
I wanted an outdoor camera to cover the rear of my property and I wanted a camera that I could access remotely for when I am on holiday. I also wanted to avoid battery powered so I can fix and forget.
This camera gives WIFI access is wired with a 12 volt adapted supply and is pannable remotely.
The instructions say you need an 80% WIFI signal at the camera. (Camera eqipped with twin antennas)
My camera is around 10 meters from the router and an external wall in between – I still have an 82% signal at the camera and it never drops out or looses access.
I couldnt initially work out how to switch on “intelligent tracking” (the camera is capable of locking onto a movement and panning automaticilly to follow it).
The iegeek customer service responded quickly and sent instructions (and a video!) to show how to switch on – now activated – although at the time of writing I have not yet viewed a recording of a tracked target.
The camera records to an SD card allowing triggered alarms or normal footage to be reviewed without the cost of cloud storage.
Only cons I can mention are:-
-There are 3 wire tails on the camera – ( a reset button, ethernet socket and the 12v power socket)
I didnt want these dangling in the wind so bought a waterproof junction box (75mm x 75mmx50mm was sufficient) installed it alongside the camera, took the power supply out the rear and through the wall, and tucked all the tails neatly inside.
Like some products the installation manual could be clearer but with my experience with the igeek customer service – help is readilly available
I would definately recommend this as good value for money and very functional, and DIY installation capable.
Edit of the review below:
The seller contacted me to help me with my issue. Definitely their customer service is amazing and the want their clients to be satisfied. They’ve have offered a replacement and few clues to make sure the camera will meet my expectations. I will test it further taking into consideration seller’s advice.
I’ve bought this camera with a huge dose of doubt. Battery powered camera with so many functions? It sounded impossible. I’ve tested this camera for almost a month and now can share my honest opinion.
Positives: definitely very good picture, clear night vision in infra red and colourful with built in LED spotlight. Really good resolution of recorded videos. Multiple settings and useful options. It really does provide 360 degrees of view. Battery is so efficient that after a month of constant monitoring and recording it still has over 50%. Very easy installation and set up.
Negatives: response time and connection strength. My 3 band mesh router is right behind the wall, where the camera is installed. Despite small distance, the camera shows 60% of WiFi signal. Being next to the camera I achieved around 300Mb/s download and over 30 upload. This shouldn’t cause any delays in camera response yet the movement and control of the camera is veeeerrrryyy lagging. I recorded video while using the camera so everyone can see how it works. Maybe my unit is faulty but this makes it useless for me. I need it to move quickly and efficiently without delays because this spoils the whole idea of wireless outdoor camera.
This unit is quite remarkable considering the price. It includes infra red night vision, LED motion activated light’. 360 degree viewing, recording to an SD and wireless connection to WiFi. PLUS – a ‘follow-me’ function that work amazingly and is quite eerie having it track you around the garden. A great deterrent.
However, it does have a few annoying flaws:
– As with most of the cheap network devices, the software is disappointing. Counter-intuitive and a little buggy.
– The motion detection is way too sensitive. Even in it’s lowest settings it’s picking up moths/midges, plants gently swaying, etc. You definitely don’t want to activate notifications on your phone!
– The follow-me function is great and it does return back to a setting of your choice. However, it does get confused and not always return back. As a result, you end up with endless notifications as it’s pointing at something moving or at the wall behind it (which it doesn’t like).
That all said, I would strongly recommend it. It does seem to have settled down recently (maybe a software update) and I may turn the ‘follow-me’ function back on.
My need for surveillance is not typical and my review reflects this.
I live in a converted Bank (was Natwest) with mirror glass windows to the highstreet. As such, we see everything that goes on out there, except at night.
As a move to brighten the view of the Island when Royalty visits, troughs of flowers have been installed.
Apart from an egg thrown at Father Christmas a few years ago, crime is rare. However, we have lots of visitors because we are Covid free and they bring crime and bad behaviour with them.
As a deterrent, I fitted this camera so it is conspicuous. No one has noticed it…
The detection is remarkably efficient. It does record all humans and excludes passing vehicles, dogs and the occasional tumbleweed sized piece of litter. I was impressed.
The sound quality during a two way conversation is clear enough to be practical, even though the camera is 10 metres from the door. The sound feature is of no interest to me other than scaring the bejeebers out of children messing about with the flowers. They hear this very loud, God-like voice and that cures them of all mischief.
As you will notice from my screen shot, I have angled the camera in an unusual way. I wanted the whole overhanging frontage captured. A normal angle doesn’t work. This is not a fault with this camera.
Setting up was very simple. The only anxiety I had was, I don’t have a WiFi password, it is an open system. The field accepted gobbledegook so problem solved.
There were some issues with camera positioning and image delay. I contacted the manufacturer and after providing some info, a firmware fix over the air put matters right.
Their response was very prompt and thorough. They sent the firmware fix, it wasn’t directly available because it was about to be released, all I had to do was agree to accept it.
All issues solved within two days. Great service.
The camera was well presented and it had a manual. The instructions might be sufficient but I thought more detail and clarity would be helpful.
The app gives me the impression it has been added to and adapted rather than designed. It takes some getting use to and is far from instinctive. None- the- less, it does work well.
For the typical user, looking to secure their front door, this will be ideal.
In my case, because of the huge number of detections, the battery will last only 10 days before recharging. I have to provide external power to solve this. Not a fault, just a consideration.
The app will drain your phone battery. With normal use, my phone lasts 12 hours before a recharge. With the app running in the background, it needs power all day and night so it has power when I am out with it. This will happen with any app that runs continuously, so in a sense, this isn’t a fault.
I have set up the app on a second old phone and rely on the SD recording to deal with culprits if they cause damage. Also in my case, the constant beep warnings of detection is annoying. This is a quiet street but not as quiet as your front door. I accept the issue as being unavoidable.
Image clarity over the frontage means HD has to be used. Typical front door installations will only need SD.
Night vision is quite adequate and provides identifiable images.
I am pleased with this camera and service.
This is my second iGeek security camera, and it is as good, if not better than the first!
OVERALL – This is an excellent camera for the money, with great picture quality, night vision, good motion detection, and SD card and cloud storage options. Both my cameras are solar-powered, and this makes installing the physical camera very easy. They haven’t missed an event yet, and I would buy again if I ever needed more coverage!
Photos – 1) close up of installed camera, 2) Camera in position, 3) Set up of the camera and the solar panel, 4) screenshot of the app showing both cameras.
Bought it for peace of mind as one of my neighbours keeps scaring me about local crime stats! I’ve installed it about eight feet high, looking out on the back garden and outbuildings, the first one looks over the cars at the front.
Camera functions – 10/10 – the PTZ function allows you to move the camera around from the app. Night vision and overall image quality – 10/10 – really crisp images, easy to identify people at night, and triggered only by foxes and people, when the camera is set correctly. Motion detection – 9/10 – I have yet to see any problems on this model, but the one at the front is set off by spiders moving in front of it, or their webs blowing in the wind. Lowering the sensitivity seems to stop it. App functionality – 9/10 – does what you need it to do, but is a little clunky. The setting of time intervals for motion detection is easy to use, but reviewing videos from the app notification isn’t possible (it seems), it shows me the photo of the event, but I have to go into the ‘History’ section of the app to view the video clip. Set-up – 5/10 – It’s a bit fiddly. The app gives you step by step instructions, but these are my tips for an easy install:
1) Even though you may be planning to use their cloud recording service (very cheap btw – 30/year – 10/10), it seems easier to set up with a microSD card in it, I think it says this in the instructions, but I am a man and don’t always read these thoroughly! 😉
2) The WiFi set up on the app connects it to whatever network your phone is on, or you can choose another. What you can’t do is switch to the 2.4GHz network if your phone is on 5GHz. The workaround is to temporarily turn off the 5GHz network in your router’s settings, then (on about the 5th attempt overall, everything worked fine)
A really good PTZ camera with a nice price tag
The camera is easy to set up and fix to the wall. The power cable can be easily extended if required, either with extension lead or by cutting it and adding extra cable in between the 2 cut parts if required and soldered back together again. Also if the cable is cut, it makes it easier to pass through the wall and only a small hole needs to be drilled in the wall, then solder the wires back together. The other two cables, reset and ethernet can be tucked inside the unit to get them out the way, if you don’t want to use those. You can do a basic reset by unplugging the power to the unit from inside the house.
The video quality is really good, even at night in black and white nighttime IR setting. I have mine set to the automatic setting. Its very quick to respond to pan and tilt changes from the phone. The “tracking mode” seems to work well, I’m not sure if I will leave that on all the time though.
This is my second camera from ieGeek. I used the app I already had on my Samsung phone, CamHipro, which is free from the play store.
It was easy to setup. I just clicked the + symbol, top right of screen, choose IP camera, selected New Device, powered on and reset (using small push button on end of white wiring loom) and chose the “not connected to the network cable” option. Then on the next screen I chose “AP distribution network equipment” option. This then asked for the wifi password from my router and that’s about it. Camera connected. I haven’t installed a memory card inside the camera as I wanted to connect it to my Synology Disk Station (NAS). This is running a free program called Surveillance Station. This then records movements and stores them on my hard drive in the NAS. I have been doing this for over a year with my other ieGeek bullet camera, a non PTZ version and that has been brilliant, hence getting a second camera for my home system.
I like ieGeek products and the customer service people were helpful last year when I needed some info on fixing brackets for my other camera. They are not just a sales team, they are helpful also.
I think for the price the camara is great value for money and will recommend it to my friends as I know its easy to set up and from a reliable supplier.
Great security addition - good app
This is my third ieGeek camera. This one is far superior actually.
The app is the same as one of the other 2, which is convenient. It has the same swivel ability, so they group them by “ability” apparently – I asked their support people why my last 2 where different – is the swivel.
So this one has a great battery. After 1 week of usage, barely 1 bar is used.
Install
Super easy to install
1. Drill 4 holes and fit bracket to a wall/ surface
2. Fix bracket with 4 provided screws
3. Slip camera body over bracket, and screw in with 4 provided bolts
My only issue is that if someone had a ladder, they could easily remove these bolts, as they just twist by hand, no special tool, which would add to the security of the camera itself. Just put it in a very hard to reach location, and it will work.
Storage
I use an Micro SD card, that I supplied. Works well, and at 64GB, holds plenty.
It has a cloud option, which I find expensive, is just storage, for $5pcm, is a bit steep.
A big improvement would be tapping into APIs like Google Drive, Dropbox or AWS, to use their bandwidth and storage. Asking a bit much, but would be a HUGE improvement.
Picture quality
Excellent
App
The app is excellent. Easy to use, add camera and operate the camera, history etc.
All from the phone.
I haven’t tried via desktop, assume you can but no easy way to do it that I can see.
