Brass is Bette
There are much cheaper adapter rings. But with those cheaper aluminum rings, there comes a time when one binds up and becomes permanently affixed to your favorite filter (probably your CPL, because as you turn the filter it will tighten onto the adapter ring). I have a wrench made to separate those rings, but it’s not always enough. I have put them in the freezer to shrink the metal. All the tricks. So far I haven’t had to destroy an adapter, but I’ve come close.
So now, any time I get a specific adapter ring, I pay for the good stuff. Not because it does a better job holding my filter in place, but because it does a better job letting go. This adapter is very well-machined and screws onto my lenses almost silently. Nice!
This ring came in a nice clamshell case with a foam insert, and while it’s nice, it’s also pretty bulky. It’s good to take care of your nice things, though.
Feel good quality and work reasonably well
Pros
– feel substantial and better than cheap rings
– some extra microfiber clothes
– good thread
– good metal
Cons
– it’s not the best overall but it’s better than the cheap rings and not as expensive as other brands
Good quality, you can feel it as soon as you pick it up. Much better than the cheap rings I typically use. Thread is good and threads on nicely.
Microfiber clothes are reasonable. I do find K&F clothes to be better than some other brands. I use them for my glasses, lenses, screens. Everything. They’re good for the price.
Nice to have some compact cloths I know are super clean should I need them while out.
The step-up ring could do with being a little bit better but it’s definitely a step-up from the cheap ones..
High Quality Knurled Rings for Easy Screw On/Off and Brass Construction for Sturdy Yet Light Fi
There comes a time when you just don’t have a lot of room for multiple sizes of the same filters. What do you do? That’s an easy question to answer – you use a step up (or step down) ring. This K&F Concept 52mm to 77mm Step-Up Lens Filter Adapter Ring is a sturdy, yet affordable, step up ring to answer just that problem.
One of most used telephoto lenses is a 24 – 120 mm lens with a 77mm diameter lens. Having bought several filters specifically fitting that lens for a project I decided I wanted duplicate the effect with my basic 50 mm lens. Rather than buying additional filters for the 50 mm lens I got this 52mm to 77mm step up ring. The ring screwed onto the 52mm diameter lens easily (though care should be taken not to overtighten the adapter, especially if you don’t have a lens wrench) and the 77mm diameter filters screwed easily into the step up adapter. Thus, by use of the step up filter adapter ring I doubled the number of the speialized filters.
The picture attached to this review shows a 77mm Neutral Night Pollution lens fitting onto a Nikon 50 mm lens (52mm diam.). Although thiis is not one of those specialized filters it does show the fitment possible with this step up adapter.
If you are in the market for a step-up adapter that is sturdy yet light I strongly recommend that this K&F Concept 52mm to 77mm Step-Up Lens Filter Adapter Ring should be at or near the top of your consideration list. I give it a soft 5 star rating. (Please see below for my rating criteria):

4 stars. While the product is better than average it is not an excellent product. I would probably buy this product.

Spot on sizing - and the thread doesn't jam on my lenses
Buying expensive filters for you largest lens and then re-using them on the smaller ones by using “step-rings” makes economic sense and reduces the weight of your camera bag.
I tested the 49 to 58mm step ring – The photo’s tell it all.
The sizing is correct.
The material and finish is excellent – I especially like the knurled edges to make it easy to twist on and off.
The ring is 3.6mm deep,so does not cause “vignetting” on my lenses.
Delivery was quick – and the ring was protected in a good padded case (NB, if you bend the ring it can jam on the lens, so treat these carefully until they are safely screwed into plce.)
The pack also contained some microfibre cleaning cloths – which is a welcome bonus.
OVERALL – I like this – and would be happy to get it again. Delivery was next day to mainland UK which is great service too.
I have quite a few lens filters from K&F Concept as well as a few other accessories. I'm very much a beginner in photography and all the equipment that goes with it, and I have been more than happy with the quality and ease of use of everything I have tried from this brand. I'm trying to build a collection of filters for a 77 mm lens, and I wanted to be able to use them for some of my other lenses, too. I've never used a step-up ring and didn't know much about them, so I have been reading about them and looking at different brands. Since I was already familiar with K&F Concept, I didn't hesitate to order this ring when it became available. I am especially pleased because at the time I placed my order, I didn't even know to look for brass or knurled edges so my choice turned out to be of even better quality than I expected. The step-up ring is very well made with precise threads and smoothly finished. It is thin and light so it doesn't add a lot of weight to my camera, but it still feels sturdy and has a substantial feel to it. It works very well with my various lenses and filters. I'm finding it easy to use and the price seems very reasonable for the quality. I will definitely consider other accessories from this brand.

Nicely knurled, quality step-up ring (brass is sometimes worth it)
I normally get a semi-inexpensive aluminum adapter to live with each of my filters that needs one. I have a lot of filters and almost always use 67 mm lenses, so I don’t want to have to keep track of whichever adapter I need and have to switch it around. Why would someone like me get this fancy brass one, then?
1) Brass is better for extremes in temperature, since it resists expansion/contraction issues more. This is rarely a worry for my shooting, though.
2) But brass is less likely to get cross-threaded or deform. So if you’re using it a lot, or maybe aren’t careful, brass can be better.
3) So that’s good for me, but honestly, the knurled parts on the edge are the most useful part for me. Aluminum step-up rings also come with knurled (ridged) edges in nicer versions, but once you’re spending more on that, you want to consider whether the cost of brass makes more sense for you.
My use case is replacing the step-up ring on my Lensbaby Omni filter system. I use it more than any other filter, so my reason (2) applies (frequent use, cross-threading resistance).
It’s also really easy to unscrew the Omni adapter from its step-up ring, and then I have to unscrew the step-up ring separately and waste time. Reason (3) comes in here, because the knurled parts make it way easier to grip the step-up ring, unscrewing it from the lens and keeping it with the Omni adapter.
The only con to me is that brass is heavier than aluminum. That’s significant when you’re talking about holding a camera for a long time, but for me, the pros definitely “outweigh” the con.
Trying out this brass step-up adapter through the Vine program hasn’t convinced me I need all my filters to have brass adapters, but I’m very happy to have it for my main use.
Cl filtre obligatoire sinon galre !!!
