Put two favourite franchises together and you’re bound to end up making a lot of people very happy.

With Lego’s usual quality and attention to detail, this set brings Captain America to life and as well as the fun of the build, there’s ongoing play value in recreating action scenes – or perhaps for the older fan, just having the figurine on display.

The perfect boring day past time, building a bit of LEGO – and Marvel LEGO at that. Figured that it would be a quick 10 minutes and then back to it but actually this was quite intricate and had lots of pieces. Everything went together as it should and it kept my 11 year old entertained for quite some time. Its not big, but it looks decent and now lives on his desk until he has a reason to take it apart.

Something a little different for us from Lego. We have never built a Lego action figure before. It states it is 310 pieces and suitable for ages 8+. My 9 year old son loved building it but did require some help at times. He especially liked the specially printed pieces like the captain’s face. He has many joints so is almost completely posable. Perfect for playing with after the build and recreating battle scenes. As always, being Lego, the instructions are very clear and easy to follow with the fantastic illustrations. Very giftable and fun for all ages if you like Marvel.

This 310 pice Captain America figure is a great build, and once completed looks fantastic. TYhis was built by a 7 year old experienced lego builder and took around 90 minutes. Building Captain America is a challenging build with lots of little pieces, and care needs to be taken, but as any Lego constructor appreciates, the tougher the build the more fun it is. Once built Captain America a a sturdy playtime item and is now being creatively played with. Highly recommended.

Lego have been producing construction figures across a number of their licences for a good while now, and this latest model of Captain America is a decent addition to the series. The set includes 310 pieces and if you are an experienced Lego builder it’ll take you an hour or less to put together.

Everything fits together well, as you would expect, and happily the design of the figure is robust. So there are no worries with parts falling off when the figure is being played with. Although it’s pretty blocky in places, overall Cap’s body looks pretty good; unfortunately the same cannot be said of his head and even worse, neck.

The head is not quite the right shape but it does look well proportioned when on top of the body. The cartoony look of Cap’s face is probably not for everyone and is maybe a little too simplistic. The biggest issue here though is that the head is attached to the body by way of a ball joint, which works wonders for articulation but it looks too thin and therefore a bit off.

To be fair, I don’t know how else this could be achieved whilst maintaining good movement of the head so I can’t criticise too much, it’s just not the best look. That aside though, the look and especially the articulation of the figure is great and it genuinely has great play value, as well as being a model which would look fine on display.

Overall the set is fun to build and play with and looks pretty good apart from the head and neck, so there’s a lot to like. At 25 it feels a bit expensive but then that is Lego nowadays, prices keep going up and you either pay or you don’t. If you’re happy with the cost, Cap is well worth picking up for your Marvel collection.

My family and I are absolutely huge Lego fans. We have a collection between us worth literally thousands of pounds and are always on the lookout to add to our ever growing sets. In particular, we have always been fans of the both the Star Wars and Marvel Comics series so when this new set became available we jumped at the chance to add it to the collection. Now, whilst I would usually gush and wax lyrical about how wonderful the new set is, on this occasion I find myself in the rather unusual position of having some mixed feelings about the overall experience of the set. Let me explain why

First of all let’s begin with price. It’s no surprise given the rising cost of pretty much everything these days that this set appears to be pretty expensive considering what you get for all those hard earned pennies. Priced at 29.99 (at time of review) for 310 pieces that works out to be just under 0.10 pence per piece. That’s certainly not the cheapest set but equally it’s not hugely overpriced either when compared to other sets produced by the same manufacturer. The actual build itself was quite enjoyable and Lego have used some ingenious ways to try to replicate a fully articulated action figure without significant detriment to the overall performance and pose-ability of their product, however those compromises do give the finished figure a slightly odd look from certain angles and poses. To be fair, Lego have done a decent enough job here and let’s be honest, due to the very nature of the blocky building materials there was always going to be some elements that didn’t quite come together as well as they should. My examples of this specifically would be the technic ball joint sockets and slightly creepy looking hand and finger elements.

Quality wise though, well, need I say more? There is an old saying of ‘you pay for what you get’ and there is a reason Lego are market leaders in their field. This set is no different and all parts and pieces fit together with that joyous and wonderfully satisfying adhesion and attention to detail that you come to expect. The various brick colours are spot on and look stunning, as do the few printed elements within the set. I am especially taken with the shield piece which in my humble opinion looks amazing! My only real criticism would be the slightly goofy expression the figure seems to have been saddled with. Quite why Lego chose this particular facial expression is completely beyond me? He has a look that appears to be a cross between feeling slightly bemused, perplexed and dare I say constipated? Come on Lego, I know the set is aimed at a younger audience but you could have made him look at least a little more heroic. Where is the stoicism, grit and dogged determination in our hero? For fans like me who would simply display a piece like this, never to touch it, I just cannot find it in me to place it in a prime spot on the shelf. Equally, for those children (who the set is best aimed at) how can they take on the ‘criminal scum’ looking like they are about to break into a cabaret number? A slight miss by Lego I feel here.

Aside from the above gripe though I do happen to really like this set and think that it represents good value for your money. It’s not for everyone though so unless you are a real Marvel fan (like me) then you may find other sets more appealing. For those of you feeling undecided, I genuinely think it’s a great set and one that for the most part at least, you would be very happy with. I don’t think it’s a set that will gather value over time though so probably not for the investor. Ultimately, it’s down to personal preference. Good, but some room for improvement.

Yes yes yes. I love this. Took a few hours and was so fun. As always it’s the quailty you would expect with legs and I l9ve the fact this is Avengers. I’m now gonna need to start sourcing all Marvel characters. Highly recommend.

This is a fun Lego model of the First Avenger, Captain America. The instructions and brick quality are excellent and the build nicely judged. I’d also agree with the recommended 8+ age range. I was worried that I’d have to sticker the Shield and his face (and the wobbly risk that that would involve), but I was really pleased to see that they are already printed out of the bags.

I think Captain America looks great and has a wide range of possible motion and I like that his Shield can be placed securely either on his back or on his hand as desired.

I’d say it’s more of a display piece than a play piece, but if you are a Marvel fan and enjoy Lego, then I think this looks great on the shelf or desk.

This is a very specific Lego building kit. It’s clearly aimed at younger children and, despite being Lego, the parts are very specific, so it doesn’t have the rebuild characteristics that Lego normally has.

If your kids are fans of the Avengers, however, this will likely provide hours of fun. Of course, this is the old Captain America, so there may be a new one out at some point.

The design is distinctly clear, so it’s potentially also a collectable Lego set for fans that collect anything based on the Avengers.

Overall, this is a fairly easy build, but may require some adult assistance with much younger kids.

This set is one of 3 available construction figures in this style, the others are Wolverine and Batman.

It’s a good build that takes around 3 hours using the very easy to follow manual and once complete the figure stands taller than I imagined.

The shape of the head looks a little weird and I’m not sure about the comic style face. I liked that the Captain America symbol and shield are printed and not stickers. All parts are moveable and work very well, I love how you can move each individual finger on its hands. The shield can fix to the back of the left hand or on Captain Marvels back. Movement in its legs, knees and feet is really good and the figure can actually stand up on just one food. It’s very flexible.

Overall, its fun set to build, I can see what Lego have tried to do but it’s a weird looking figure. Check out the Batman figure, I personally think it’s the best one.

Thank you for reading my review, I hope you found it helpful.

There’s 2 main bags & 4 mini bags to put together. The Instructions are clear and easy to follow and the pieces are separated in the bags to make the process as simple as possible.

6 year old managed to complete most of the build himself but there are some fiddly bits he struggled and needed assistance with, like the knee and shoulder joints, so 8+ on the box is about right.

The head, shoulders, elbows, hands, fingers, waist, hips, knees, knee pads and feet all move, allowing for some fantastic poses. Son loved the build and the completed figure.

I have only rarely accessed kits like this. I have to admit, as a grown adult, I struggled a bit. It got way easier as the parts started disappearing, but the instructions didn’t always help. It’s hard to tell sometimes the exact colour of a piece when printed on a page, or indeed tell for sure a shape, when there are several kinds similar to my eye. I am halfway through now, and it has taken 2 hours and 20 minutes. I have completed the torso section and the thighs. The next part is the head, arms, and lower legs. I sort of enjoyed it and, by the end of the first section felt a bit proud of myself. It’s good craic. Don’t know how a little kid would manage it. Maybe they’d just be cleverer than me – haha. It’s a cool model so far.

Something isn’t quite right with Captain America. I think he is a little thin possibly, but if that is the case there isn’t really anything one could do about it within the constraints of Lego pieces.

The build itself is relatively straightforward. The instruction manual is clear. The pieces are split in to several large bags with smaller ones inside them to make it easier to find the pieces too.

Once complete it the model has great articulation, allowing it to be posed in many positions. The size of the model is pretty good, and doesn’t look out of place against the Lego HulkBuster or Venom models

5.0 out of 5 stars Great set to construct a large figure. Bit scrawny though

LEGO has undergone a great resurgence over the past decade or so, having expanded into full scale model kits and play scenes and growing it’s appeal into a wider market covering all ages and tie-ins associated with the major franchises such as Star Wars, Harry Potter and Marvel comics.
This Captain America figure, it seems, is part of a range of Marvel Avengers figures. As usual, the product is manufactured to a high standard and comes complete with a clear instruction manual that takes construction step by step. Building it takes a couple of hours, and will certainly fill a pleasurable evening.
This kit states it is for ages 8 and above, and would provide a great way for parents and child to collaborate, as I’m sure many do with LEGO products. The actual method of construction is ingenious and quite often it is difficult to see what you are actually making until some way into the process. Seeing the figure coming together is very enjoyable.
However, to me, the enjoyable part is a little let down by the finished product. There is bound to be a problem representing the human form in brick form, and of course LEGO get round this by including parts of all shapes and sizes and curves, but in the end this just falls short of a convincing portrayal by trying to make it fully articulated. Poor Captain America comes over looking more like one of the Transformers than a superhero. Perhaps this is irrelevant given the intended play value for the target age range, but many people like to display their LEGO creations and this one falls short of being suitable for this.
A good quality product from LEGO, however, and a heroic attempt to further their range of toys and kits.

Lego Captain America from the marvel series except in Lego form,

Firstly I will say this Figure from Lego consists of 310 Pieces and is relatively easy to assemble overall without any hiccups or issues along the way as per Lego always do a fantastic job with the included manuals and even with the help for using the app if you wanted it to be even easier.

I’m a fan of the marvel series but for Lego to go about making figures personally it’s just not my cup of tea for good representation of this character (Captain America) something just feels off with the product on how it looks, although it’s down to personally preference in general and this is just my opinion.

I still would recommend this Lego set as it’s fun to assemble and any avengers or marvel fan would love this.

I very rarely have anything bad to say about Lego sets, for the most part they are designed well and look good. I appreciate with models such as this some limitations are to be expected and a juggling act between scale, look and functionality. From the chest down I like the look of the set, I like the colouring and use of parts around the chest to incorporate the chest logo. The parts I’m not keen are, include the fingers , the way the shield is attached and the neck.

The main one from these being the neck, the head looks like it’s stuck on a spike from the side and back. It’s not visible from the front and in the most part it will be posed with the face front on. The fingers while they can be posed just don’t look right to me, and finally the shield which is clipped onto a 2×2 piece which is on the back and the left hand. When the shield is not attached the piece with the small rod in the middle just protrudes out and looks unfinished or out of place.

Overall if you overlook those small niggles it’s fun figure and has great articulation, can be posed in lots of positions and easy to balance. Its comparable from a playability side to any action figure with the advantage of also having to build it.

This new Captain America figure from Lego gives us a buildable 10 inch Lego Cpt America action figure. I’ve never built one of these before but , as a collector of Action Figures and big fan of Lego, this combines two big interests into a very fun set.

The build is fun, not too complex and fairly small, with 2 bags , 310 pieces to build. I found it a nice relaxing big and enjoyed seeing the figure build out.

The end result looks fun. It’s of course blockier than a normal action figure, it’s Lego after all, but it looks good and captures the character well. The special printed piece for the face is a great addition and really completes the look. I really like the big shield too, you can attach it to his arm or his back.

Overall this is a fun build. Easy to recommend this to people who love their Marvel characters, Action Figures and Lego.
