I’ve seen people use this exact brand for climbing !! .. it looks and feels cheap quality so I wouldn’t use it for that purpose! However, I use it as a back up catch for my dogs lead in case the main one snaps, and would trust it to hold onto my 6 stone dog! After a few weeks, the paint has started to come off! The locking mechanism is still robust and still works as intended ! Definitely worth the money
This is a rugged, well made bit of kit. I ain’t no climber, but this is ideal for the purpose I purchased it for. Impressed. I did not buy for climbing. So will not comment on that particular use. But ideal for my purpose of holding down plastic sheets in garden.
