'Medium duty' at bes
Does the job, but I wouldnt call it ‘heavy duty’ – its medium at best. Okay to package up parcels for returns, which is what i use it for. But if you are looking for something to keep boxes tight eg moving, I’d look elsewhere
Strong Packaging Tape For Boxes
This tape is suitable to use when making up boxes for moving.
It holds the base securely and seals the top securely.
I was reluctant to use this wide sticky tape at first as I was happy with the duct tape I was using.
But in comparison, this tape holds just as well as duct tape but is four times cheaper to purchase per roll.
The only difference is, this cannot be ripped by hand like duct tape, a pair of scissors is needed to cut the tape to the correct length.
Decent Tape but Could Be Stickie
The Merrimen heavy-duty clear packaging tape is okay for basic tasks like sealing parcels and moving boxes, but I found the adhesive to be a bit weaker than expected. While it does the job, I’ve had to double up on layers for extra security, especially with heavier boxes or long-term storage.
I usually like to use the brown paper parcel tape rather than plastic, but as I had a parcel to send abroad and needed clear tape for the customs declaration I decided to get a pack of clear tape. This is a nice heavy duty tape and sticks very well. The 6-pack is good value for money. Sorry I knocked off one star and that was purely because of the awful smell coming from the tape. I will be going back to my favourite brown paper tape as soon as I’ve managed to use all six rolls. I can recommend it for its adhesive qualities.

The pack of 6 clear packing tape that I received has good adhesion, is a strong tape that is actually thicker than some that I have previously bought, and it is a good price.
Some people say that they have received a poor quality tape but that was not my experience.
I would recommend this tape and I would buy it again.
Good tape, could have been bette
I found this tape to be very good but worried slightly it should have been stronger and more supportive for the boxes I was using it for. It was also annoying having to find the end of the tape when the end got lost but that was probably down to me on this one!!
Good enough for sealing boxed for shipping
I use this for taping up boxes prior to shipping – and it works well.
Amazon have also asked me to comment on Sheerness …Errr, it’s a town in Kent. It has a beach, and a brightly coloured clock tower! I can think of better places for a day out, but it’s not bad.
Ok packaging tape
Well I don’t claim to be an expert on packaging tape but this product is ok. Rolls are a good length as I like to overuse rather than risk package falling apart etc. Tape is thin and slightly transparent but it sticks and woks on a package – so ok.

Tape is as tape should be, its not as if its “thick” as described? Not sure how thick tape can be but its not flimsy, at least it doesn’t split like the one I bought elsewhere before this. So its the expected strength of good quality packing tape and does the job well without splitting etc. I recommend this tape.
