Yes for a single “light bulb” it is expensive, BUT you get what you pay for, it was instantly recognised by the app, and alexa found it quickly too (sometimes too well) For me it is great that via the app it will come on/go off at specific times as well as change its brightness at those times, I have it set up to dim to almost nothing to act as night light, and as its controllable by Alexa it is easy to dim it up or down, I have several around the house, I also find that Alexa understands better if you give the lamp a number instead of a name. I hope they rectify that sometime soon.

Hue bulbs are more expensive and you need a hub, but compared to a few other smart bulbs I’ve had over the years these are far easier to set up, they’re more reliable, the app is easy to use and has plenty of scenes/sequences available, and there are plenty of 3rd party apps as well. I don’t need coloured bulbs everywhere so these are perfec
