It seems like you need to be diligent about using this at regular intervals over a few weeks but from what I can see on my sticky yellow traps this has been effective.

You need to mix it up in water then apply to each pot to break the lifecycle of the gnats, and there’s enough in the bag to last you quite a few weeks across the season.

Although the dilution and watering approach seems to have worked for me, I may try what some other reviewers have suggested and that is to mix the product in with compost.

My greenhouse was much better for applying this, and it is a cost effective solution without using chemicals which is good.

I’ve had many plants over the years and only this summer, after I purchased some new succulents, have I had any issues with small black flies.
Anyway, when I saw this product, it all made sense. I now know these are fungus gnats, that lay their eggs in the soil and thrive in moist conditions. Not nice I know!!
This powder arrived in a clear ziplock pouch, inside the outer packaging (also a zip locked pouch), with a 5g scoop to measure it out. It takes a while for this powder to dissolve. The first time I used it, I stirred it, but it took quite a while. The second dose, I decided to put it into a spray bottle and shake the water and powder mixture until dissolved. This worked better.
Given that I only have four plants that are infested with the gnats, this powder will go a long way.
I have watered my plants twice now with this product and I can say I am seeing less and less gnats.
Overall I can say this is a good product, I am seeing results and at 16.99 (price at the time of writing), I think it is good value for money and I would recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good product- Takes time, so persevere.

I recently noticed a couple of my plants have a fungal gnat infestation, and thought I’d give this a try as part of a 3 pronged attack.
It arrives in a thick sealed bag and the instructions for use are on the reverse, although if it was a mosquito problem I’d not be able to see them due to the sticker over them.
On opening the pack it has a clear bag with the powder in and a small 5g scoop, I have a lot of plants so wanted to do them all.
I used 2 scoops of powder in the watering can per 1 Litre, as the instructions say each scoop will do 500ml, make sure it is dissolved before watering the plants though.
This is being used in conjunction with the yellow sticky shapes in every plant pot and also a bug spray I use for lily beetles called Provanto, I have used this mainly on the plants leaves.
This gnat treatment advises being used every 5-7 days to catch the next batch of larvae as they are hatching, I’m hopeful this treatment will help in the eradication of the gnats, and my plants can start thriving again.
At 16.99 at the time of writing this review, I would recommend it, but I don’t think it is effective without at least the yellow stickies to catch the adults.

If you discover these little flies coming from the compost in your indoor plants – treat them quick as they multiple really quickly.

This is the powder version you mix with water and apply it to the compost and it gets to work really quickly to eradicate the horrible little things.

Safe to use indoors with pets around as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quickly gets rid of the gnats!

after reading a few of the reviews I decided to mix the powder in with the topsoil as well as dissolving the powder in the water. You need to dissolve it in a smaller amount of water and really mix it in before watering your plant. (So its a higher concentration). Overall it has worked. Also pretty cheap so worth a shot.

This is a great treatment in a powder form, well packed in double zippy bag. It also comes with a spoon.
I had fungus gnats in most of my plants since I reported them with a new soil (that was probably infected).
I dissolved powder in watering can, according to the instructions, watered the plants… and that’s it!! The gnats were gone!

I did a combination of mixing the powder in with water but also mixing a scoop of the powder in the topsoil. This seemed to work really well! Gnats have gone so far.

The outer packaging is a bag that can be closed once opened. Inside this comes another zip bag with the powders and a measuring spoon. Very little quantity is needed for a large amount of water so the product can be used many times. I had a pot with three plants, one of which died from insects. After applying the product to the other two seems to be fine at the moment.

5.0 out of 5 stars It seems to work against insects

Maybe it was just me, but this is a little bit difficult to understand how to use exactly, because it’s slightly different to what I’ve used before

However in combination with stickers and hanging tags, I’ve managed to now clear my fungus gnat problem, and my plants are looking healthier, and all in all of eight plants I only lost one!

It’s a sizable bag, and means you can use quite a lot quick for quite a length of time

I like that this is a natural product with the active ingredient of Bacillus in for effective control and treatment, easy to use with the handy scoop and store in the resealable bag, ideal for the tops of my pots when fungus can be hard to control and I like that I can use this as a soil to topper to both naturally prevent and treat the areas

Friend gave me half of her peace lily that she’d just re-potted… lovely, thanks. However, I’ve been finding these little black flies buzzing around and the plant not looking too healthy. Went to cut off a leaf and then discovered they were ON the plant. Seeing this product I realised what they were. Now I’m treating the soil and fingers crossed… seems to take a while, so don’t expect a quick fix, as you have to break the cycle of the laying and larvae. Hopefully the plant will be restored to full health soon and the pesky little flies gone. Seems easy enough to use.

I have a lot of house plants but unfortunately I also have the gnats that come along with them.

I used this yesterday on my plants and it seems to have reduced them but they are still there. I have only used it on the plants in my downstairs toilet for now (I didn’t want to use it on them all until I’d tested it out)

The powder comes with a measuring spoon which is super helpful and it’s easy to mix with water. You also receive plenty of it and it will last me quite a while.

The only negative is that it made my downstairs toilet quite smelly. The powder on its own smells a bit like cake mix but when you add water it gets quite smelly.

But I can handle the smell, as it soon disappears, if it means I no longer have to deal with the annoying gnats.

So thank you! I’ve been looking for a solution for ages and I believe I have now found it. I just need to be persistent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Effective!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve had plants indoors for years and then bought a new one, suddenly I the room has been covered in little black flies – now I know they’re called fungus Gnats, not very appealing. However they live in the soil and thrive when damp, whilst not harmful they are just annoying and keep buzzing around. I’ve looked at how best to kill without damaging the plants. So i went for this alongside those little yellow sticky pads hat you can put in. I can tell you it’s not an overnight solution either one of these, however as the days pass there are less. The combined effort of changing the yellow sticky pad and using this every 7 days will I’m sure get rid of them. You need a small amount so this is good for a number of plants. So overall pleased but as I say it’s not instant!
