I bought this brand after a different one was steadily flaking out on my nuc switching screens at every login. I have 4 screens and 2 would always flip flop no matter if I switched cables power bricks or hdmi inputs on monitors. But once I put this brand to work, I’ve had zero issues In a month of daily use. Once I assign screens their positional numbers they stayed put!

i have a laptop that I need to connect to 2 24″ external monitors, so I bought 5 or 6 of different [1-in/2-out] other brands/models which all claimed 4K signal, but all failed – PLUGABLE is great, 1-in (USB-c) and 2-out (HDMI) and 4K signal goes to 2 monitors (different pictures) – this is called MST

It’s well made – I can feel the weight and quality. It’s small and portable hence great for party or travel use. Of course no problem with home use.

It’s very solid hence made to last. It’s easy to set up and the image quality is simply great.

Overall a quality product, but a bit pricy as it only supports 4K 60Hz.

I’ve been using this at my work desk for the two monitors I use and it’s been extremely straightforward to use.

I was worried there was going to need to be some installation needed and not being the most technically advanced person in the world, I thought I would struggle. However, there’s no installation needed and it’s basically just plug and play.

It was easy to set up and and get going with and I’ve got used to it in no time and it’s working really well.

I bought this as an inexpensive ‘fix’ for the occasional work-from-home day where I have my own monitors and wanted to plug in the work-issued laptop. It is a true plug and play, but the display (either the laptop or the monitors) wants to go black and refresh with irritating regularity, and sometimes I have to turn off the external monitor and turn it back on again to get things to work after one of those blackouts.
Still within the return window; I’m going to give it another try and then see if it’s worth keeping.

From the first use, this USB C to HDMI adapter has been an absolute delight. Not having to install any drivers was a big win. The dual display worked flawlessly – it was a pleasure to stream movies and games on two screens. The picture quality was outstanding, no noticeable lags or frame drops. Despite multiple hours of use, it never overheated. Streaming from Netflix and Hulu was smooth, with no HDCP issues. Using it with my Windows and Chromebook was a seamless experience. All in all, it didn’t just meet but exceeded myexpectations!

The relief of untangling the web of cables behind my workstation is immense. Utilising this device, I plugged in two monitors simultaneously via a single port on my laptop. The image clarity, colour precision and refresh rate was immaculate. Pairing it with a Windows laptop, I enjoyed the luxury of two extended displays without any hassle of installing drivers. With my MacBook Pro, it supported only one extended display, but worked just as flawlessly. Streaming media was also a breeze, allowing for full enjoyment of my favourite moviesandseries.

The Plugable USB C to HDMI Adapter has certainly proven itself to be worthy of a full five-star review. This brilliantly designed device delivers a straightforward solution for extending dual 4K 60Hz HDMI displays for Windows and ChromeOS computers, offering crystal clear visuals for streaming, gaming, or work-related tasks. Its compatibility with HDCP makes it ideal for playing copy-protected media through popular platforms like Netflix and Hulu. By delivering a simple one-plug connection, this adapter transforms the user experience, significantly improving productivity and entertainment.

The adapter stands out due to its Plug and Play functionality, eliminating the need for driver installation or additional software. This feature is a testament to the convenience that this USB-C to HDMI adapter provides. With Alt Mode graphics and an MST chip, the adapter natively drives two displays from the host laptop, ensuring seamless and uninterrupted performance. The adapter’s ability to deliver dual extended displays up to 4K 60Hz provides an unparalleled visual experience, perfectly suited for high-resolution tasks or media consumption.

The Plugable USB C to HDMI Adapter also demonstrates impressive versatility, with broad compatibility for Windows 10, 11+ and ChromeOS 100 or later systems, as long as they support DP Alternate Mode over USB-C (DP 1.4). It’s also worth mentioning that while this adapter is compatible with Mac, it allows for only one extended display or dual mirrored. Overall, this adapter not only meets but exceeds expectations in functionality, user convenience, and compatibility, making it a worthy addition to any tech arsenal.

Thank you for reading my honest review, I hope you found it helpful! 🙂

So far, I am happy to own it. The built quality is good. It has quite a sleek design and looks great. Compact and small in size so easy to carry around when traveling. It has 2 HDMI ports supporting 4K at 60Hz. The displays can be in extended or mirrored modes for Windows OS.

Arrived well-packaged. The price is slightly expensive in my opinion.

Overall, a decent adapter and will recommend.

I like Plugable kit. It’s not cheap but it delivers consistently excellent performance.

This USBC-MSTH2 adapter works like a dream on my Asus RoG Zephyrus G15 gaming laptop (running Windows 11). As soon as the adapter is plugged into the laptop’s USB-C port it adds two 4K@60Hz extended display HDMI ports which are instantly ready to use – no need to install drivers. Used with Windows computers, the adapter’s full capabilities are available – extended mode (MST) and mirror mode (SST). Display on external monitors is smooth and flicker free (this depends on not just the laptop and adapter, but also on the spec of external monitors and cables).

On Apple computers the adapter’s performance is restricted to SST (single-stream transfer, aka mirror mode) because Apple devices don’t support MST – this is a limitation of their M chips.

The USBC-MSTH2 adapter is another fantastic piece of Plugable kit. For high-end Windows computers especially, it’s a good buy.

    This :

Plugable USB C to HDMI Adapter for Dual Monitors, 4K 60Hz USB C Hub for Windows and Chromebook, Driverless

Is a small, compact, and lightweight way of getting a dual monitor set up.

It is well designed, well put together, and crucially, it works first time, and every time.

I like it, and I am happy to recommend it.

I hope you enjoyed our time together .

This is a 2-in-1 USB type C to 2x HDMI video ports.

    The things I like:
    – ability to push output on 3 different screens
    – dual HDMI output (support 4K at 60hz)
    – compact design

Overall, it’s really disappointing that only Windows can handle extended monitor output but on MacOS it only support mirror mode. Disappointing for MacOS users.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for windows 8/10/11 only

On the surface, this looks like one of those common USB-to-HDMI adapters. Upon close inspection, the difference becomes apparent. Other than the usual ability to connect a laptop to two up to 4k displays, this tiny adapter has HDCP support for video streaming, check the description if you use Netflix, it is a game-changing feature for me. It supports Thunderbolt as well.

    Good:

    – made from high quality materials
    – easy to use, don’t need driver installation
    – compatible with Windows, ChromeOS and macOS
    – cable length is enough
    – small and light, so you can take it everywhere with you

    Bad:

    – integrated cable, if it’s gonna break, adapter will be rendered useless

Be aware that your laptop must be capable of supporting 4K over twin screens, if your laptop only supports DP 1.2, you will only get 1080P across both screens.

On a MAC, both screens will show the same image as Mac’s do not support MST

The Plugable USB C to HDMI Adapter is a simple yet powerful solution for dual extended 4K 60Hz HDMI displays. With its easy plug-and-play functionality, this adapter is compatible with Windows and ChromeOS computers, offering seamless dual display performance.

This adapter allows you to connect two HDMI monitors to your laptop or computer through a single USB-C, Thunderbolt, or USB4 port. The result is crisp and clear streaming, gaming, and working experience on two high-resolution displays.

It should be noted that Plugable offers a 2-year limited parts and labor warranty on this product.

In conclusion, the product is a reliable and user-friendly solution for dual monitor setups.

    Thanks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Compact and lightweight.

This is a small, yet robust little box that allows you to run two monitors off of a single HDMI port. It works well, though to my mind slightly better on Windows than Mac – as MacOS will only allow you to use them in mirror-mode, which is a fairly niche use-case.

Ports are nice and tight, not too much more you can say – other than it does what is advertised and at a good price.

I like Plugable products even though they are expensive, particularly compared to the USA. This is a simple adapter instead of their usual hubs. A USB-C and short cable feed the adapter that has two HDMI 2.0 outputs running up to 3840×2160 @ 60Hz. Compatible with Windows 10 and 11, Chrome OS 100 and later. Compatible with MAC but only one extended display, or dual mirrored. Supports HDCP to play copy-protected media through streaming services as Netflix. The adapter is 65mm x 58mm and 11mm deep, so it’s easy to take with you if you’re travelling to an office.

I connected it to a Samsung S8 Tablet in DeX mode that initially caused the monitor to drop out, but then it settled and ran well.

This is a very cool little adapter which enables me to extend my display onto two other monitors in my gaming room.

It’s very small and understated, has a plastic shell but still feels nicely constructed and works perfectly.

It’s a plug and play item with no faff.

It gives me two 4K HDMI connections at 60Hz which means my game streams smoothly and I don’t experience any lag or drop outs.
It seems to be very reliable and the simple configuration of its layout means it just sits out of the way.

I didn’t experience any overheating or any problems at all in fact.
For for crisp, clear gaming or streaming it’s a solid choice.

In my opinion it’s good value and I would recommend it.
I hope you find my review helpful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reliable for gaming. Smooth, lag free and easy to use.

This came well packaged. It has a plastic outer shell, which is sturdy enough. It’s small amd portable, and offers a refreshing change to bulky docking stations. It’s very easy to use, basically it’s plug and play, so to speak. The laptop recognised it without issue and our external monitors displayed with clarity and without delay what was on screen. I’m not very technically minded, so won’t go into its specs, but what I can say is that it does not require any software in order to be able to use it, but your laptop must be compatible with it, so check before buying. As long as you’re compatible, it works a treat, and I can recommend it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersReasons To Buy

+ Typical Plugable build quality – which is great
+ It is the first dual HDMI dongle/dock (including some docks made by Plugable) that I have tried let me get get dual 4K60 on my laptop’s USB-C port (2022 AMD Lenovo Legion 5 w/ NVidia 3050Ti). I got 4K60 on the first monitor and 4K59.94 (close enough to 60) on the second output. With other docks, I either could not get 4K60 on the second, and quite frequently couldn’t even get anything higher than 1440p/1080p on the second output. In the advanced display settings, both monitors were getting their input from the laptop’s discrete GPU.
    + Reasonably priced

    Nitpicks / Hit or Miss

    * Would have been nice to get the extra 0.06Hz on my second monitor, but I was just happy to finally have a dual 4K60 out from a single USB-C port.
    * There was a little bit of lag in the Windows display settings to see the advanced display settings for either monitor, but there did not appear to have any other performance issues.
    * I have my laptop on a stand, so the cable is a little shorter than I’d like.

    Reasons Not To Buy

    – Even though I had a positive experience with this adapter, video out over USB-C can be a coin toss. I’ve tried **a lot** of docks/adapters whose specs on paper said they supported 2x4K60. This is the first one I’ve tried that could do it and be stable at the same time on my laptop. I’m pretty sure that *my laptop is part of the problem*, as other people with different computers were able to get 2x4K60 on some of the other docks/adapters I’ve tested. How well it works for you will ultimately depend on whether your computer likes this adapter, and you won’t know until you try.
    – No support for pass-through charging.

    Good Value?

For the price, I think this adapter is a good buy, especially because it’s from a known brand.

Having said that, for $55 (price at time of review), you can get cheaper USB-C to dual HDMI adapters that claim to support 4K60x2, but I have tested several, and they have been very hit or miss in terms of their actual capabilities.

To be fair, it’s quite possible that this Plugable may not work well with your computer, even though it worked well with mine. While I like the USB-C port, I have found that the so-called USB-C/Thunderbolt standards to be a mess, as PC manufacturers, cable manufacturers and peripheral manufacturers, who can pick and choose what capabilities of USB specs they want to implement have made it hard for the average consumer to sort out.
