Paired these up with a more delicate set of pruners , these for the thicker pruning jobs . Comfortable in use and give a nice cut as long as you don’t take them out of there comfort zone..

It is far to early to say. Durability is key. The blade is still sharp. These are not what I’d call a one season throw away. We’ll have to wait and see. I have seen these for sale between 25 & 30 so at that price point you would expect to get lots of use from them.

Can rely on this make. Cuts well and a comfortable grip as well if you have sore or painful hands. Cuts hard wood well too. No bad things to report. Happy custome

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBypass secateurs are my preferred choice for gardening and Spear & Jackson my preferred brand. This purchase was to replace the identical product bought 9 years ago that recently failed when the spring broke. It had lasted well and was easy to sharpen (with the right tools). despite the spring failing I found the product to be robust and easy to use. Good to know I can still buy the same product all these years later, proof that the product is as perfect now as it was back in 2013 and did not need tarting up.

I’ve used these constantly all Summer to present date and they’ve held up well and continue to go strong even today. I’ve been able to cut through any type of branch, even the more thicker ones with some extra strength and persistence! Sure I guess using them for thick branches that they weren’t designed for probably wasn’t the best idea but they’re fine even now. After stress testing them the way I have done they have hold up really well.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought these after buying another cutting product by Spear & Jackson that we were super impressed with. The same with these secateurs. My wife mainly uses them as she is the keen gardener but she also has arthritis so gripping and squeezing is an issue. However, she loves this cutting tool and it means that she can do what she loves – pottering around the garden.

Extremely sharp secateurs, ideal for quick snipping of small shoots, would benefit from having a hole on the handle where if you wanted you could add a slip cord to attach them to your hand when snipping inside a bush as I have dropped them several times and it’s difficult to retrieve

These effective secateurs do what it says on the tin. They are easy to use and cut cleanly on all the garden tidying tasks I wanted to do. I think they might be suited to occasional gardening use [which is what I bought them for]; they might suffer if tasked with heavy commercial gardening on a daily basis. But that is a criticism of something they didn’t claim and in which I have not used them and so it is unfair.

Golden Review Award: 24 From Our UsersA very nice, straightforward pair of bypass cut secateurs.

At just over 20cm in length, and with a blade length of 6cm, they should be a good fit for most hands. (Photo).

The body is made from a hard polycarbonate plastic, with a softer, blue cushioned rubber over moulding on the upper and lower handles.
In use, I’ve found them comfortable to hold, with no perceptible disadvantages to being left handed.

They lock, with a plastic sliding lock on the top. It works well, and is easy to slide on or off with the thumb of your holding hand.

They are tensioned by a steel coiled spring. The spring is kept in place by a mounting peg on either side.
It looks reasonably secure, but if it were to ‘pop’ out, replacing it would be very easy.

Behind the spring there is a small rubber post to give some cushioning when you squeeze the secateurs together.

Where these secateurs really excel, is in their sharpness. They are super sharp,
cutting through 25mm rose stems with ease. (Obviously, your strength will also determine the thickness of what you can comfortably cut.)

An occasional wipe down with a spot of WD40 or similar will help keep them in tip-top condition.

Overall, for the money, these are a very capable pair of bypass secateurs and with care, should last for many years.

I hope you found this review helpful.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good value, extremely sharp, pair of secateurs.
