This holder is easy to assemble and fits easily in to the air vent. Much better than the magnetic holder I used previously because the phone slots in securely without the need for magnetic strips on the phone and car ( which are impossible to remove and bulky).
Bought to hold my iPhone 13 in my car, it’s perfect, sturdy and does the job. I have had it for 3 months now. Looks fine, bought one for my husband too.

The innovative fixing mechanism on this car phone holder is the stand out feature – making installation a breeze.
Your phone then simply slots into place and its own weight keeps it in position – which brings me to the only drawback which is that the weight of your phone may not be enough to stop you from knocking the phone out of the holder.
I love this phone holder for the car. I get really annoyed with the old school ones that either fall of or you have to squeeze the side button to get your phone in and out. I hate those!
My phone just slides in the hole and the holders just adjust automatically and keep my phone in the position I want.

It took me a moment to figure out how to use it because I was lazy to read the leaflet coming with it.
Pretty straightforward, the length of the hook is modified by twisting the other part and then tightened into place. The hook seemed to me like the most fragile part though.
I have a Smart car and getting the hook into a vent was a bit challenging, it felt too tight, almost not fitting. When I decided I want to take it out and place it into a different vent I almost couldn’t take it out and I thought I am gonna break it.
But it is fitted now exactly where I want it and I wont be moving it, and so far it holds well.
The best thing is the support under the phone, not just the usual sides, so my big and in the case quite heavy iPhone 13 Pro Max slots in and holds in effortlessly.
I had issues with the magnetic holders because my phone is heavy and the case makes the magnet even weaker and my phone was flying off quite often when on the country roads.
I haven’t had any issue with this so far.
Overall the holder seems quite sturdy (especially the base – screwing part and angling portion.)
Build and materials are impressive; much of the phone holder is steel, with only the vent attachment mechanism being plastic.
It’s an unusual design, where the arms are pulled in when the weight of the phone pulls the base support downwards. They then spring outwards once you pick up the phone. It takes a little getting used to, but in the couple of months I’ve been using mine, it’s effective, and easy to use.
I did find that I had trouble charging my phone as the gap in the lower support wasn’t wide enough to clear the cable, and the rubber pad on the inside plus my phone case meant that the USB-C cable could not reach the phone port. I solved this problem by removing the rubber pad.
The vent attachment system is effective and works well.
One final thing I like about the design is that it exposes the back of my phone to the vent air, allowing it to be kept cooler while charging in the sun.
Although I got this one free as a review unit, I also then brought another one for a friend because I thought it was so well designed.
My car (a Mazda) has weird shaped vents and I have struggled to find a phone holder. With the extended hooking mechanism on this product its problem solved. Its fits into an air conditioning vent and sits tightly to it. It would be the perfect product if the cradle was a a little on the loose side. Just a bit more functional design on this would have made all the difference as the phone is a little loose. That said, it works and im grateful not to have the phone hanging around the geartock or side compartment.
Seemed well made… tried on our various phones and they fit some of them without obscuring the buttons.
Tried to mount to car vent but seemed a bit unstable… then noticed compared to the picture something wasnt right; there is a cross-piece to stabilise across several vents rather than all the weight going acorss just 1 and that wasnt present.
Will be returning for refund and look elsewhere.
At last!!!! After a number of trial and errors, this has been my first successful purchase. Have used for over a week now and not once has it failed. Air con still works too. Very pleased!!!
The mechanism that holds it on to the vent is strong and holds the phone firm with no movement.
The only flaw is that the space at the bottom for the charger cable to fit in is quite small and could have been bigger so need a cable with a thinner head.
What a clever design! I must say the hook clip is a wonderful solution once and for all. From now on I shall never need to worry the mount falling off when driving. All other manufacturers should adopt this design. Bravo, UGreen!!
