I spent long time searching for the right dashcam for me going through the features, the prices, and the customer reviews. And I ended up by the “VANTRUE N5 Dash Cam 4 Channel”.
The installation was not much hassle, and the video quality is amazing. I only faced one issue which was the rear cam, which fell down and couldn’t stick it back. However, after contacting the customer support, they offered full support and it was very clear that they want their customers happy. And this is the hard part to find in a product, which is the after sale support and a responsive support team. Based on my experience, I totally recommend this product and this brand generally to everyone.

This is a very well designed piece of kit. It’s small and unobtrusive. I have mine fitted to the windscreen just below the rear view mirror. Installed properly and it is firmly stuck to the glass. It’s simple to operate once you get the hang of the four buttons and the menu system. Picture quality is excellent and you can read the licence plate of cars in view more easily when you freeze the video during playback. I downloaded the app so that I can checkout video files on my iMac with ease. There are two cameras built-in. One for outside the car and one looking back inside the car which has a wide enough viewing angle to monitor through the rear and side windows of the car. The camera itself is easily removable and can be connected to a PC/iMac via the provided USB cable. Files are stored on a mini SD card, not included. The best SD card to use is the Vantrue card which is thinner than most others and will fit the SD slot where others will be too thick to insert. Needless to say the Vantrue SD card is the most expensive. I bought a 256Gigabyte card. Video files are store in 1, 3 or 5 minute selectable durations, where when the SD card is full, the camera will overwrite the oldest files. But if you turn this off then this won’t happen. My device has GPS built-in so each file contains info of your speed and the co-ordinates of exactly where the car is as you are driving along. You can almost ignore the camera when setting off on your next journey as its operation is automatic. The only caveat to that is if you don’t turn the camera off at the end of your journey, ie. when you get home, leaving the car unused for sometime, then you may drain your car battery. But normally I would leave the camera on if I leave my car in a car park away from home for obvious reasons. The camera was packed in “Apple Style” packaging. I’m really pleased with my purchase and would recommend this device which is the N2S version with GPS.

I purchased the VANTRUE N5 Dash Cam 4 Channel for my van. The Dash cam came well packaged with clear instructions. The quality of the cameras and screen is excellent. It is fairly easy to install and has worked flawlessly since it has been installed. The app that connects to the camera on my smartphone is also easy to download and operate.

Upgraded from N4 to N5. My N4 GPS was dead and saw a newer modell, that is what I need! 4 channel cam, with mobile app! I use them with power banks. The N4 running about 24h on a 30.000 mAh battery with motion detection parking mode. Never missed anything! The N5 draining the seme battery about 12h! That is a lot more power consumption! Nearly double! I solved my issue with a 50.000 mAh battery. But on the software side I hope will be coming an update that solve 2 main issue. One is the motion detection. Even on low the device constantly recording on 4 channel. This is the main power usage issue I think! The other thing the wifi. In order to connect my phone have to sit in the car and press stop recording than turn on wifi than I able to connect my phone. I know this still way batter than the N4, but I feel this still a bit too much unnecesary hocuspocus. Vantrue please work a bit on this things!

ok, the camera is perfect, well the cameras because there are 4 of them, they all look good, and I do hope that this camera will hold a long time, I am saying this because I did notice that the camera gets sometimes extremely hot, hopefully, it is made to take it, I also bought a cable what connects to obd port and I managed to hide absolutely everything leaving the USB ports unused and fewer wires visible, it is amazing so far, I love the fact that it works night 24h and with the new cable I can choose if I can set it up to work when I start the engine or continuously
I was between the N5 and the 622GW and I’m glad I chose this one instead. Installed a 256GBs mSD memory card (the Max High Endurance version) and using the Vantrue USB-C to OBD hardwire kit.
Bought it for the Taxi vehicle I’m working with. Some colleagues have been aggressed by drunk or drugged clients, or other situations where you may need to prove your innocence in that case. It’s also a very good deterrent against bad behaviours.
+ The image quality is very good.
+ You literally cover the entire front and rear of the car.
+ Videos are saved separately, not all framed in a single video file.
+ Transparent sticker films are provided, so that you don’t stick the camera’s base with the 3M sticker right on the glass. And I’ve been replied by Vantrue that they would supply me with more of these transparent stickers if needed.
* it gets warm (not hot), but if it doesn’t harm the camera, I’m ok with it.
* since we talk about 4 cameras, of which one is of higher resolution, you must absolutely use a larger mSD card. I chose 256GB, but probably a 512GB would be even better.
– the USB-C cable for the rear camera is very thick, so hiding it is a bit challenging.
– since the cable is so thick, if you have a hatchback as I have, the cable from the rear camera would hang in the air and is difficult to fix it better.
It’s much more to write about, but don’t have the time now. I’ll update the review at a later time.

The packaging was very nice looking. You can feel the quality of this when you take it out of the box. I found the instructions very straight forward making it a simple installation. Easy to install. Read the instructions manual for best experience. Real 360 Dash Cam 4 Channel. Dashcam features 4 channel recording and 4x protection for driving safety and ultra clear resolution.
I like the ability to connect to the dashcam wirelessly to view/retrieve videos and it is much easier to apply all the setting preferences through the app. It can be done without the app, but it means navigating through the menu system which is more time consuming. Sony starvis 2 Night Vision+IR+HDR. N5 dashcam night vision clearly captures essential images. 2 inside cameras equip with IR lights, clearly capturing driver and passengers accurately even in dark.
It has all the features that I want (wide 360 degree coverage, GPS, HD video, parking mode, multiple resolution options, collision detection, low frame rate and low bite rate mode options, voice control, 5G Wi-Fi connects to phone). with the wide viewing angle of these camera’s, the camera sees everything. This dashcam truly covers 360 around the vehicle.
Dashcam software upgrade can be done on Vantrue APP, avoiding the inconvenience of wires and enjoying the latest features and performance in time. I am really happy with it.

I had it professionally fitted, added a 512GB card @ 130mbps but it kept popping up with “slow card” warning and stopped recording, I had to lower the quality to get rid of that error, I really don’t get it… the Vantrue recommended SD Card is 100mbps. The motion sensing and collision detector is a great peace of mind, my car was side swiped a year ago and nobody fessed up, now I will catch them and forward on to police. I recommend that you get the hard wire kit and polarising lens, it’s worth it. The app is great too, easy to sync and download onto phone; just make sure you have enough memory on phone or set it to loop record. No pictures, I’m lazy.

Easy to install but could do with a right angle usb lead to come out if the front Cam that goes to the rear cam.
The app is great with pretty instant connection to the system unlike the nextbase cam app which is bloody awful and has gone in the bin.
Picture quality is good. But the real test is number plate reading. We shall see.

Genuinely impressive nighttime quality
Had this dashcam for about a month now, and felt compelled to leave a review for it! Lots of dashcams can do day-light images to a good enough quality, but often struggle with nighttime. Having tested this dashcam out in a number of different light and weather settings, I’m genuinely impressed with how well it can capture details about plates in motion.
Other things I liked:
– Having 4 cameras, both external/interior front/back gives great coverage of what’s going on on the road, no matter where it happens.
– The setup process was really great – clear and concise instructions, and all the tools required to get set up (including a very long rear camera cable!)
– The settings on the camera are great, especially being able to edit each of the 4 cameras’ exposure individually to tweak it to perfection.
– The app to control the camera is actually really great, and allows you to both edit the settings on the camera and review/download footage using WiFi 2.4/5, which means you don’t have to take out the SD card to access the footage, very quick and easy.
In summary, definitely check this camera out if you’re looking for a quality new dashcam!

Dashcam has tons of options that impressed me.
Video and picture quality is amazing. Vanture app is very helpful. Allow me to download videos/pictures directly to my phone via wifi connection. 4 channels, 360 all around protection, 5G Wifi, Loop recording, G-sensor and parking mode, gps functionality, night vision, voice control, Supports up to 512GB card.
The menu is straightforward and buttons are well placed. When you are on the road, you have all your bases covered.
Plug and play and also comes with the tools and everything you need to so you can install it your own.
Good video quality and sturdy dashcam
The clarity on this camera is by far the best I have seen in a dash cam. The night vision is also clear for the cabin. I can practically see everything with no issues. Definitely worth the money.

Great features for the price.
First a caveat. I’ve installed this dash cam in a very old, not very well-maintained hatchback so not the ideal test. I did purchase this to go in a new SUV, but that doesn’t arrive for a few months and bought this early as it was at a reduced price and didn’t want it sitting in a box untested for that long. Not the best cable management, as couldn’t be bothered, and the windows are a little smeary and have really bad reflections, but more on that. Also, I’ve only posted a couple of pictures due to privacy concerns (I couldn’t upload anything with license plates in) and I’ve cut down the images to only the important parts, and no idea how much compression Amazon does.
This camera does come with everything you need for a normal install in the box, although I did find I needed more than 1 plastic facia tool for some parts of the install (and probably 2 sets of hands!). The camera main unit is a little larger than expected but does have to do a lot and still didn’t look too bad on my hatchback windscreen, and the rear unit is much smaller.
There are multiple resolution options, but with an A2 SD card, as it suggested, I didn’t have any issues with artifacts or missed frames on the highest setting, despite other reviews I read online. The 2 internal cameras are more than enough for what they are and do show good images, even in the black and white night shots, which it switches to at night. The front camera look absolutely stunning in the daytime and the rear camera is as good as it needs to be, but I was a little disappointed with it during night driving. Perhaps that doesn’t have the extra image features the front does. Also, my rear window is the worst condition and I think I need to reposition it a little, but only have 2 sets of 3M stickers and wanted to leave the 2nd set for the new car. That being said, it’ll still show you who’s at fault during any incident, which is the main purpose.
Again, probably a fault of my windows, but the front camera did show up a lot of reflection, no matter the lighting conditions, but still had good images and could still show oncoming number plates in good light (which I can’t show you!). You can see my stereo, etc, a lot in the night images. I wouldn’t imagine any camera at this price point would show good number plate images at any sort of distance during bad lighting conditions due to headlight glare. However, even the rear camera was able to for a car that was extremely close, which it would be if it was about to hit you!
Things to consider;
* Reflections: some pricier cameras do come with a polarised lens, but you can get add-on lenses, so I may purchase one and will update this if it improves things, even with my crappy windows.
* Not all features work with the standard install on some cars. All the ‘away from vehicle’ features require permanent power, and if, like me, your cigarette lighter doesn’t have power unless the key is in the final position, then the only way to get these features is if you purchase the separate hard wire kit. Which I will do when I fit this to the permanent car.
* The cable to the rear camera is think, which I assume is a good thing, but can limit your options when trying to do an ‘invisible’ install.
* Be careful when opening the SD cover as it’s just held on by a rubber wire (picture shown). Although if it does snap, the magnet is pretty strong so shouldn’t come off anyway.
Is this camera worth the price, yes, it has its faults, but does a great job for the money.

This product literally covers the front outside, front interior, rear interior and rear outside of the vehicle and runs 24/7 with amazing quality. You can even speak to it and ask it to take a picture and it does. This product is amazing especially as my car got broken into not long ago and I had no CCTV footage. Wish I had this sooner.
Does the job
Arrived in a good quality box and lots of good documentation. I was looking for an unobtrusive camera with good picture quality that fitted discretely at the top of the screen, and could just be left alone.
In my Skoda Kodiaq, the sun visors get in the way of the rear facing camera, so I don’t use that. So many cars these days have a massive sensor array around the rear view mirror, so a good position could be a problem. The power cable was a molded 12v plug type, which I couldn’t use as it interferes with a sliding cover, USB would be better these days. SD card has to be removed to download the videos, or connect to a pc but that’s fine for me, but you obviously need a pc which not every one has these days.
Loads of settings, pretty straight forward here, some need a permanent power supply, my 12v supply remains on all the time and it doesn’t seem to flatten the battery
Within 2 days, 2 idiot drivers nearly wiped me and 3 grandkids out going through a red light. Footage was uploaded to the police data base and I’ve been advised action is to be taken against them. I don’t dob in innocent errors or misreading a situation, we’ve all done it, but some people really need to give their heads a wobble. Footage is best viewed on Vantrue software, where a map, gps data etc are shown very clearly.
Overall, so far, its been good. I also think it makes me a safer driver, If I intend to use the footage I cant be at fault for a situatio

I have bought this vantrue n5 and been using it since last week I have to say probly the best dash cam in the market, the picture quality is very good and clear you can see the number plates clearly, it also has an app very easy to use. I would recommend this vantrue n5. The sound quality is also very good. You can hardwire the n5 and 24/7 parking mode. Screen is quite big but looks very appealing.

This VanTrue N5 is a remarkable manifestation of high quality design, engineering, testing, and UX focus. The app is equally concise and easy to navigate through the numerous options for making the 4 discreet cameras operate. I wish all tech companies would invest in this level of output. Its impressive features all operate as accurately as promised/shown.
The 5Ghz WiFi app connection is an example of excellent design. Video demands huge bandwidth and 2.4ghz would have been insufficient for 4 simultaneous camera feeds. To challenge it, I propped up my iPad on the dash to to watch all four views in real time while driving and the display was immediate & flawless. Watching recorded playback too is virtually instantaneous, so again, great (software) design.
The supplied electrostatic stickers supplied fell off my Explorer’s glass, both front and rear, within a couple days. That turned out to be fantastic because despite their thin clear manufacture, they still are an additional visual barrier to the camera. I reinstalled both cameras directly to the glass (without the electrostatic stickers) using other 3M stickers I had, and they not only have adhered perfectly but also allow the cameras a MUCH better, unobscured view outside. I’m sure there’s a good reason VanTrue provides them, but I don’t know what that reason is. The camera can definitely see better without them.
I installed a Samsung 512GB microSDXC card that matches the unit’s requirements and it too has worked flawlessly. I got about 12 hours recording of all 4 cameras running continuously, which isn’t something you’d normally do. (I accidentally left it powered on overnight.)
I’m super glad I installed the optional polarizer filter. It’s worth $20 to eliminate the reflection of my dashboard from the camera’s view.
Customer support was very fast and helpful when I had a minor issue (that was actually my fault).
4 Chanel view
I am a taxi driver and it’s very important to me to have 360 constatnt footige in and around the car! With this 4 chanel camera and it’s parking mode its so useful. I can feel much safer myself with this onboard. It’s have clear picture even in tinted window.

Received the dashcam a few days ago and found it so easy to set up and the quality of video playback is excellent. This is the 2nd Vantrue product I’ve now purchased and I would highly recommend.
Being a Vantrue fan I couldn’t miss the opportunity to upgrade to the latest 4 channels dashcam. As expected the pack has arrived next day, everything well packed.
The new N5 offers everything you need with a spectacular resolution no matter is it day or night. The new smartphone app is also excellent having the possibility to see the camera live or download the recordings to the phone storage in few taps thanks to the wifi connection.
From the unpacking the box I had the feeling of a good quality and I was just right. Instructions and fitting were straightforward and easy even for someone with little knowledge.
This dashcam has everything you expect this days like GPS, mic, loop recording and so on, but the best thing for me is that it covers 360 degrees in and out of the car. I use a 256 microsd card and it’s recording for about 12 hours continuously.

I bought this as I was interested in 360 degrees protection for my vehicle. After trying previous dashcams which had dodgy GPS, frustrating apps and missed video clips I am very impressed with Vantrue.
I have hardwired mine using their hardwire kit so I can record 24/7. I am happy as it has so far recorded all footage during driving and also during parking mode (I have been using the low framerate parking mode).
You can also customize whether you hear certain things such as disabling the start up sound and button press sound, but keep on sound for locking video. The voice control is also very good. It allows you to easily lock video, take pictures, turn screen on/off, view front camera, view rear camera, and more!
The app is very nice to use. Upon clicking on your dashcam icon to connect to it, your app will ask to join the dashcams wifi network for you so you dont even have to open your phones settings which I find particularly handy! I also like that when you click on the camera settings, it will stop the dashcam filming for you and then open settings, rather than having to do both things yourself. The app is handy to download footage and even trim and share clips directly from the app!
I had a look at their windows player which is neat. You select which clips you want to import and then you can watch them (all 4 at once!) with a working GPS map.
It looks like Vantrue actively updates the dashcams firmware as well which you can download over the air to get the latest features.
Note that you do not get a wireless controller included which some of their other dashcams seem to include for free.
One thing I would like is a way to only have the exterior front and rear cameras recording during driving (not the interior cabin cams) but once parking mode is entered to enable all 4 cameras. This is to better protect passengers privacy during driving and enable full protection whilst parking.
I’ve always had a cheap 20 Dashcam that was suction mounted. I recently broke the suction mount and sought a new Dashcam. I picked this up despite being weary of the adhesive mount but I can safely say my worries were soon put to rest! This Dashcam is perfect for taxi/Uber drivers or just anyone who wants a solid, reliable Dashcam to rely on in the unfortunate event of a car incident. I’ve summed up an easy to follow chart of pros and cons below.
To sum up, pros are:
– 4 channel Dashcam, all being 1080p except the front which is 1944p
– Voice assistant, for example “lock the video”. Can be a bit fiddly but to be honest I’ve not used it much
– GPS included
– Adhesive mount to reduce vibrations and wobbling. No need to worry about the glue sticking as they provide anti-static mats that stick on leaving no residue behind
– Mount is on a ball joint so it can be swivelled slightly in all directions. Dashcam is also attached via magnet so you can bring the camera inside without removing the entire mount if needles
– Supports 512gb SD card
– Great customer support. I messaged them directly on Reddit and had a reply within 24 hours.
Cons:
– When selecting Collision Detection as parking mode, the camera only switches on after the ‘bump’. Therefore you miss everything up to about 5 seconds after the incident. To counteract this you need to select motion detection but see below.
– Motion detection is too sensitive even on low. On wet and windy days it was recording almost constantly leaving me with an almost flat battery, even after reducing the motion zone to 3x instead of 5x.
– Polarising filter not included (tip: it’s 16 on their website and 20 on Amazon, so buy that direct!)
– Gets very hot but this hasn’t impacted performance, I’ve had no random shutdowns of the Dashcam so far.
Overall I’m impressed and I know this Dashcam is solidly built and will last me years to come.
Satisfied with the quality of the video. But I received defective product. The dashcam overheats within seconds of being switched on, even in rainy conditions without exposure to direct sunlight. This issue persists consistently, rendering the dashcam unusable and compromising its intended functionality. I have exhausted all troubleshooting measures without success, confirming that the problem lies with the product itself.
It is concerning to note that the dashcam becomes excessively hot, akin to an iron box. This overheating problem persists consistently, making it impossible to use the dashcam effectively and compromising its performance.
Based on these observations, I firmly believe that the dashcam I received is a defective product. I already requested amazon to replacement. But they only provide return and refund. (no replacement).
Good value for money with amazing pic and vid quality
Wow, what an amazing dash cam. Having previously owned a few dashcams, I’d say by far this was the best one I have owned. Both the camera and picture quality are top tier, they produce a clear crisp video/image. The feature that I was most impressed by was the 4 different cameras, being used on a driving school car it allows me to see exactly analyse and see where the student went wrong no what hazards were around. Installation is straightforward and the instructions are simple to follow. Footage is stunning and can be checked and download immediately thanks to the smartphone app. The camera settings can be adjusted from its menu or also through the app.
I would really reccomend this to taxi and private hire drivers,but not only because you could save happy moments with your family during your journeys.

My review is based on the last Vantrue Dash Cam I purchased from Amazon it was the front and rear camera which was in my car. Unfortunately we had our car stolen from off our drive recently but we were extremely fortunate because the car was recovered by the Police. The car had some minor damage to the front panel which can be repaired, but the thieves took my Dash Cam and some other items that were in the car. I found the Dash Cam to be brilliant so I decided to purchase another one. This time I ordered the N2 4K front and interior camera for just over 161 from Amazon, unfortunately I never read what was in the box and was very disappointed to find that there was no SD card in the purchase, so it means that now I have to purchase an SD Card the 256gb which will cost me up to 50 which is a cost that I can not really afford at the moment as along with the replacing of personal items that were in the car, having the bodywork repaired, having to pay over 210 to get the car released from the Police , having to now have a specialised immobiliser fitted at 450 etc I am not in a position to fork out another 50 so as much as I love the Vantrue I’m afraid that I am going to have to return it and buy a Dash Cam that comes ready to use. Given different circumstances I would have had no hesitation in keeping the unit If you do purchase the Vantrue then you won’t be disappointed apart from not coming with an SD Card, for 161 the least the company could do is send you a card so that you can use the device straight away, even if it was only a 64gb

In my Opinion this is the best dashcam I ever had.
I highly recommend this dashcam to specially to Uber drivers and and in general to all motorists due to the excellent picture quality inside the car and outside as I will explain below.
The Vantrue N2s is a top spec dashcam with UHD resolution and just about every feature you can imagine. It has a 2160P forward facing camera capable of recording 4k footage at 25 FPS. *The interior facing camera is also high spec recording at 1440P at 30FPS*
The captured footage is very clear, even at night. Easy to distinguish road names and number plates, which is what you want in case you get into an accident or another incident.
It also includes a GPS mount which you can use for tracking driving roots and monitoring speed. It has nice and clear audio.
The camera, as expected, has loop recording and g-sensor mode for automatically recording if it detected a collision whilst driving
The 2 inch display is bright and clear and so easy to see what is happening.
As in with all Vantrue dashcams a hardwiring kit (sold separately) is available so it can be also detect motion in front of vehicle and inside of car and auto records whilst parked.
Light weight easy to remove and so convenient.
