Great sprayer , did our fence with Ronseal one coat, I thinned it but not much , took about 15 Ltrs to do 20 , 6X6 panels one side, ( about 5 mins per panel) .
If I’m being picky , on / off switch little bit fiddly and location ,and I had to clean it ()
If you’re looking for a sprayer , just buy it.

Brought this to emulsion a room, which it did in a short amount of time, but is it worth the time and hassle to prepare everything do the job and clean up afterwards ? not unless you have a empty room and no floor coverings. It blows a paint and air mixture at gale force so tries to blow off any masked areas not securely fastened down so extra time wasted here, then there’s the paint mixing, again do you strain it using the included filters, if you do then thats another 30mins gone, paint build up at the jet means another delay.Basically most of your time is spent on preperation and cleaning up afterwards rather than spraying, I used the same colour for walls and ceiling it would add another hour if it was different colours.Small outdoor projects and fence panels, yes every time, internal rooms, no, get the roller and paint brushes out throw them away when you’re done and get 2hrs of your life back.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersEasy to use, and happy with the results, when painting fence panels, which we painted in the Garage
We bought a “jam makin funnel” for a few pounds which made filling the paint jar much easier when working from a large paint container.
Used “Ronseal Fencelife Plus” with no diluting, just a good stir.
Towards the end of each refill give the spray head a quick shake if you start to see spluttering
      Easy to clean after use.
2 coats applied to 6 panels in a much reduced time and with much less effort
We recommend laying off the paint with a brush , if is still considerably quicker and better than brushing or ollering

I have so far painted over 30mtrs of fence and this machine has been the best investment yet! the fence took a quarter of the time it would with a brush.

The sprayer was very easy to use, the bookletis handy and explains how to set up with different nozzles for different types of paint. It comes with I think it’s 4 nozzles so has a good range.

I was using cuprinol fence paint which is slightly thicker than the usual fence paint so I watered it down slightly, I used a rough estimate of 3 cups of paint to 1 cup of water which I found worked well…I did a bit of trial and error but eventually found a consistency I was happy with.

In my opinion the sprayer is quite forgiving and easy to use, the paint bottle is a reasonable size, I would like to purchase more bottles so that I could have a few lined up ready to go straight away, not sure if they sell accessories.

If you are not sure a sprayer is for you, go ahead and get it, I felt the same. It is a wonder tool….makes a painful job much less so.

I coupled this with B&Q good home masonry paint and used a little water to make it go through smoother and it worked a treat! So much faster and easier than rollers!

Fence spraying was so very easy, I sprayed 26 panels in my garden and a further 6 panels for my elderly neighbor, and it took no more than one hour,it was very controllable and easy to avoid plants (and the washing) very impressed,I have had various types of spraying pumps but this is the one. Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersHave used this to paint several large cupboards using eggshell paint. I found the viscosity measure quite confusing so tbh I just winged it with the water ratio and just thinned each lot of paint with a little water- seemed to work for me! Very economical use of paint- used 3/4 of a 2.5l tin for 3 large cupboard units and shelves. I was diligent about cleaning it after each use, which was a bit irritating as the gun worked so quickly it felt like I was done after 5 mins for each layer! Actual cleaning took a few mins but easy enough and I just made sure I took it apart completely so was very thorough. Drying was quick though, and finish is really good. Wouldn’t work well for walls I don’t think as spray range is pretty wide and not well controlled, but think if you’re painting a whole room in the same colour everywhere you’d be fine! Can’t recommend this enough- really easy to use, economical and gives a great finish- wouldn’t have done half as good a job with a brush or roller.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little spray gun- perfect for furniture

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersHaving used an electric sprayer for the outside fence work and loved it I decided to buy one for doing the walls.

It definitely took a lot longer that expected to get the viscosity right but that is not a criticism of the machine. Dulux emulsion took a lot of dilution – sorry can’t recall the exact ratio…

The other issue we had was seeing where the spray had covered as given the lighting in the room and the similar colours of the new paint going over the old…. A work lamp helped in this regard. Once more not a criticism of the sprayer.

If you have never sprayed before do not expect perfection straight away. Practice in an area which won’t be seen or scrap cardboard etc. Think back to when you 1st used a roller or brush. Was it perfect? Probably not.

Also bear in mind how the surface looks as it dries…

Single coat…. And done. Total painting time just under 3 hours. Brush and roller usually took the best part of 2 days.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe pipe connecting the sprayer to the power pump pops out a lot but still I’d rather use this than the brush. It is faster, covers well. We did 20+ panels using Cuprinol ducksback the standard one, not sprayable. We only struggled with blockages after 7h of use. We didn’t water the paint down. This thing will be coming out every year for touch ups. Well worth the money

You definitely need to practice with this. I ended up with paint film everywhere but it was the first time I have ever used one! Easy to manoeuvre and good long lead. I’d recommend this sprayer as it IS fast and good value

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI only used emulsion and watered it down 70/30 paint to water it took 20 mins to get used to it ,it’s a pity it’s not cordless but hey for the money well worth it . I must say it is a pain masking everything up and you must do it right cause paint will get into any gaps . I would recommend

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersOverall good machine. It mentions about the belt but I didn’t receive it. Although would’ve been very useful

      Pro’s
Nice even paint on the wall. You have to get used to the distance as that makes all the difference.

      Cons
Idea is good but because the spray is so fine, it gets very difficult to identify if it is the area is painted or not, specially when the light is either not ideal or the the paint you are painting on similar background. (Like refreshing white on white).
Secondly the conventional tape will not work to stop paint spreading over the next wall because the paint spray surface is wide. I tried my wall corners and although the tape was there on the roof but it still spread on the roof that i had to redo. So then I used rollers or brushes to cover the corners
Finally in my experience it takes longer to cover the wall as compare to the roller and it also starts spitting bigger spots on the wall occasionally, although it gets vanished once dried

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI was a bit concerned about buying a sprayer as I had heard so many people say they dont work. However, We have 40 meters of fencing so I thought it was worth a go. Your paint has to be the right consistency. We bought A very thick paint and then watered it down. The sprayer occasionally stops if the paints too thick or finds a lump but a quick clean in a bucket of water and it’s back to working. It’s so easy to use. It took us probably 2 hours to do a job that would take us all day. Is well worth the money. We have used in on 4 separate occasions for bits of garden furniture too and it works perfect each time. So far so good.

This unit really does work well I sprayed a fence in no time with Johnson fence paint I did have a little trouble to start as the paint was cold so thicker but a little heat from the sun and it worked well also cuts down on the amount of paint I use only needed 15 litres but I have a large garden I was told if I use a brush I would need 30 litres

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI bought this sprayer to speed up the process of painting our 2 garden sheds. I bought this one because it looked relatively simple to use and was not too expensive. I knew a little about what to expect having used a modelling airbrush. The plus side is once you get going it is VERY effective and fast; I managed to apply 3 coats of paint in one day to 2 sheds which would have impossible using a paint brush. The downside there was a lot of faffing about to get going. I got better with practice but I needed a lot of cleaning tissue to keep the sprayer clean. It is hard to get everything spotless and I had to clean it completely after every coat sprayed. I’m not sure if I will be able to use it with a different colour as it is nearly impossible to remove all traces of paint. Another significant point is the sprayer is HEAVY with a full load of paint and 20 minutes continuous spraying is challenging. A more serious point is the trigger pressure is HIGH and is quickly tiring. But overall I was very pleased with how it performed and I am looking forward to using it again.

Golden Review Award: 53 From Our UsersI’ve been using the Von Haus 800w Paint Sprayer during the remodelling of our lounge and dining room and this is what I have found

I’ve only used it with water based emulsion paint, not solvent based paints, so can’t comment on the latter.

The sprayer is mostly plastic, including the spray gun, the air hose and the case of the separate compressor unit. That is not a criticism as it is decent quality plastic, the seams of the case meet accurately and it’s held together firmly by a number of small screws. The fact the gun is largely plastic also makes it easier to clean up when used with water based paint. (I found warm water and washing up liquid very effective)

The nozzle the spray pattern comes out of is plastic and I do wonder how that will stand up over time compared with a metal nozzle, but time will tell. In the instructions you are warned not to poke sharp metal objects into the nozzle to clean it, as if you scratched the nozzle I think it would affect the spray pattern badly.

Talking of the spray pattern it is pretty good. You can easily adjust for horizontal fan spread, vertical fan spread and rounded almost circular spread. Volume of spray can be adjusted from hardly any to quite a lot which gets through the paint reservoir quite fast.

As you need to thin most paints, and especially emulsion you will by necessity be spraying a thinner coat, so multiple coats will most like be required.

With regards to emulsion, I started with a mist coat of 50/50 as I was spraying new plaster. (About 18 seconds through the supplied viscosity cup) Then for the base coat taking the advice of fellow reviewer (Thanks!), I followed up with a 2 of paint to 1 of water ratio. This gave a viscosity timing of about 50 seconds which the sprayer had no problem with.

Results were pretty good and whilst I wouldn’t recommend it for spraying the boss’s Ferrari, it is fine for applying mist and base coats of emulsion paint during home decorating.

Cleaning up is quite straightforward, no more of a hassle than cleaning a roller and tray properly, but it does need to be done immediately after you finish.

So are there any downsides? Well nothing serious in my view. I had the air hose pop out of the back of the gun once, but I probably hadn’t pushed it in far enough. There is quite a lot of overspray so you do need to mask up properly the areas you don’t want sprayed, which is a bit of a chore. For the same reason of fine overspray, a decent mask and eye protection is essential.

All in all, I found it very competent for applying thinned emulsion paint, especially at the price charged. I’m not sure if it is quicker overall when compared to a roller, given the need for extensive masking and more coats as the paint is thinned compared with a roller. However, the finish from the gun is superior to that from a roller.
