Blade Maintenance

Keeping the blades clean and oiled will maximise the power and battery life of the product for optimum performance.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  • Animal coats should be cleaned and brushed before cutting to remove as dirt and knots in the coat. If blades are snagging or not cutting they should be thoroughly cleaned and oil. Oil before use and regularly during the cut.
  • It is essential to keep the blades free of hair during cutting as this will clog the blade and prevent it cutting, more so when a comb is attached to the blade
  • Dogs / animals are often nervous of unusual sounds, it is important to introduce the clippers slowly to your pet, and from a young age if possible, to get them used to the sound before attempting to clip the coat.

I have a furry schnauzer and was a nightmare to grooming him at home. Not anymore, with this machine is really easy: no cables, it’s quickly and has so good quality that even when my dog is furry, the machine takes all the fur.

I use these regularly to keep my Sprocker, Mabel trimmed. It’s so much better than taking her every few months to a groomer. Great value for money clippers and really well made.

I bought this for my westie and I do like the cordless feature they are not really strong enough for thick fur. Also the shortest setting doesn’t cut the hair close enough to the skin, under his belly for example. Next time I would go for corded as I find them a lot stronger and cut through the hair so much bette

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI am so happy with these Wahl Pro Litheum Dog Clippers, they are excellent and work very well, they have lots of different comb attachments, easy to use, lightweight, easy to control, glide through fur effortlessly, I would say, excellent value for money, the best set I have ever had to date!
I oil the blades, before and after each use, you only need to charge these when needed, I used them for two hours and it would seem they still have plenty of running time in them.
My dog has coarse hair on her back and soft Curly/Wavy hair on her legs.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersHoly Mother of Everything! This clipper is awesome! My dog’s hair was really long and the groomer’s earliest appointment would have been in August. I bought this and even though I am not a professional, I was done in no time! Very easy to use and does a perfect job! I highly recommend it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best buy!

These clippers are definitely easy to use. Seem efficient and cut through my Westies coat no worries …bear in mind it is lockdown and they are overdue for a professional groom. They did not scare my dogs , but I wouldn’t call them particularly quiet. A good buy.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI chose these Wahl clippers because the description said low noise and also the weight of 100g. Neither statement is true. They are much noisier than my old Wahl clippers and definitely sound like a traction engine compared to a cheaper brand I bought a while back. The unit actually weighs 275g. Over all a disappointing purchase based on poor information.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersCuts through the thick, woolley and usually dirty coat of my cocker spaniels no problem. Light, quiet and easy to use. I like the adjustable blade height. I like my dogs very short as they get overheated and it lasts longer so the two lengths are great for body and inside of ears. I have a tendancy to keep pressing the on/off button on the side but perhaps that’s just the way I hold it! But compared to my very old clipper (even with a new blade) it’s a dream and a relief!

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI bought these to use on my westie as she is terrified of the groomers.
I’ve never done it before but they are fairly easy to use. I started with a longer attachment but have just given my dog a lovely all over cut and she coped really well.
I will still take her to be groomed professionally but not so often as I can keep her looking lovely at home.
They’re not too noisy but they do make a buzzing sound – it didn’t upset my dog. The vibration wasn’t a problem in my hand and they charge quite quickly
