I am a 69 year old disabled woman and cannot walk without aids. I joined an aqua aerobics club. The only down side was getting from the changing room to the pool. I bought a pair of these hoping that they would help. I must say they are the best purchase. I do not slip at all, they are truly amazing.

I got these for using when swimming in my local pool as I’m prone to verrucas and they were perfect for the job. I probably don’t look very glam but I’m past the age of caring 😉 I can’t say how long they’ll last as I’ve only just started to use them, but they seem to be well made. They’re easy to get on and off and really good fit – I’m a bit wider than standard fit in shoes.

I tried these as an alternative to socks with rubber strips to use indoors around the house. They work for this purpose, just calculate that if you use them while wearing socks, especially thicker winter ones, you may need to buy a bigger number than if you used them barefoot on the beach or the swimming pool

I am normally a 5.5-6 or size 39. So I chose the size 5-6 in these Barefoot Water Shoes. However even in my bare feet they came up too small to be wearable. I am returning them.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersBought these for exercising in outdoors in warm weather, on poor surfaces like concrete.

Sizing: I normally wear a size 9 to give my wide feet some room. I bought these in 42/43, which matches fairly well. They fit very well, a very close fit that works best with bare feet. The shoe is 27cm long and 10.5 cm at the widest (measuring the sole).

They are well made, comfortable and very breathable. The stretchy material gives an excellent fit.

For water wear (as they are intended) they have a sticky gum rubber sole. This can give a bit too much grip when on dry land, making turning movements of the foot difficult. A very minor point that I will adapt to.

Wore these in mauritius in the sea and on the beach. On really corally parts could feel the rocks but not sharp or painful. Didnt kept the sand or water out but easy enough to clear out. The inner sole does come out which means it can slip if not put back in properly. I would have these again as they wear quick and simple to put on, comfortable to wear and a lovely desig

Early review as tried on but not walked on water in them yet…These shoes are tiny. I’m a 39 (uk 6) but ordered the bigger size & yet when I hold the sole of the shoe against my foot, the 40/41 is the same length! They are however super stretchy (I can physically wear the ones in my actual size) just not sure that they will last very long with my foot fingers trying to escape through the front! Also the random separate innersoles feel a bit flimsy & hopefully will be surplus to my requirements as the base of the shoe looks like it’s up to the job.

Golden Review Award: 35 From Our UsersThese were bought for the pebbly beaches of northern Kephalonia, and did an an excellent job protecting my feet.

In terms of style, despite the bewildering array of colours and patterns, I couldn’t actually find a design I liked – I went with black in the end, which was fine.

Don’t expect these to double up as sandles, they’re simply not sturdy enough for extended walking and the soles will slide out from under you if you e.g. scuff you feet. This does mean these are yet another thing you’ll need to pack in your beach bag, but they’re light and can be easily squashed in. The important thing is that the rubber soles are thick enough to protect your feet from even the nastiest of rocks. There were quite a few sea urchins on our holiday and while I didn’t test this theory, I’d venture to say these probably would have held up to a direct hit from one of them.

The material is not quick-drying, so unless you lay these out in the sun after use, the chances are they’ll still be wet when you want to use them again. As they’ll be donned for going back into the water anyway, perhaps that isn’t a big issue for many, but I suggest you air them out to let them dry and extend their life.

I paid 15 for my pair. A fair price I would say – I wouldn’t want to pay any more for them, and if you could get them for 10, they’d be a steal. They do the job very well. Recommended.
