Love it how it expands when blowing hot air onto it. Thanks for the other user for the tip. It does absorb some sound. Helping me to sleep which is why I bought it. Very loud noise from outside from the extraction fan, coming through the walls and windows. So placed this on the outside and inside of the bedroom window, few along the wall. Also applied acoustic sealant around the window. I am able to sleep now, i can still hear the sound, but it’s not as loud as it it in the other room.

I ordered 3 times and they were made thick of good quality and they expanded themselves over 2 days …. the lastst order the quality and density of the foam has changed …. its not as dense and squashes together with easy and are cut not the same and are off when placed next to the ones ordered prior
Also half have not expanded …

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThe package comes with a small guide about how to air them out properly to achieve full size, make sure to pay attention there as it is very important.

My main point for this is that you should use a spray adhesive rather than tape of some kind. I originally tried to play it cheap and opted for the tape however it could barely hold them to the wall for a full day before they were just falling off. Fact is the tape just doesn’t connect well. However the spray glue has been amazing. Well over a month now and I’ve had 0 issues with them.

The soundproofing is pretty great too! An isolated spot near to where I’m talking and all of a sudden it doesn’t feel like my walls are paper thin!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI used a shower to douse them. Squeezed and wrung them out, waited 24 hrs then used spray adhesive. Good for acoustics. Deadens echos from corners of room. Good value in my opinion.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersTha panels come compressed and the quickest way to decompress them is to soak them in water, carefully wring them out and place them in a tumble dryer on the low heat setting for around 30 minutes. All the panels in the pack of12 I received conformed to th shape and size specified. I have elected to secure them to a piece of plywood to limit damage to the wallpapered wall where they will be installed. I tried to attach them using ordinary double sided tape but whilst the tape adhered well to the wood it did not secure the panels. The recommendations are 3M VBH tape or spray mount and I will be using one of these for my next attempt to mount them, in other words, following the suppliers instruction. I have no doubt either of these options will work well. The panels are light weight and will distort if not handled carefully when fitting but that is in the nature of the material they are made from. Do they work. That remains to be seen but will be an improvement on the hard surface of the current wall.

Golden Review Award: 37 From Our UsersTo address a couple of points in previous reviews: First, these tiles do come vacuum packed and do need time/help to fully expand – about 25% of mine needed the wash/dry treatment to plump up but once done they have been fine. Second, THESE ARE NOT FOR SOUND PROOFING. Acoustic tiles like these are used to manage the internal sound reflection in a room – they will do next to nothing to prevent sound travelling between rooms or other spaces. Don’t buy them if what you actually want is sound insulation!

As to the tiles themselves, they are clearly budget items. Compared to more “professional” acoustic tiles the foam is considerably less dense reducing their effectiveness. They are also not entirely square, but not in a predictable way, so they are hard to arrange in a grid on backing boards without them becoming out of line. I was going to knock a mark off for each of these issues but on reflection these are still reasonably effective and way cheaper than pro-grade stuff so I’m giving them four stars as they still represent reasonable value at the price.
