The 4 LED Power indicators show the remaining power for you convenient to know when the charger is fully charged and how much power is available.(0–25%–50%–75%–100%)
- With a capacity of 26800mAh,it’s a little bit larger and heavier than regular battery packs in the markets. But it’s quite slim designed in comparison to the similar capacity power banks.
This is great i use on meta quest 3 and it’s the only thing I have found that charges it as your using the headset because of the larger output but bear in mind it is a little bigger than a phone and a little heavy due to the capacity.
Bought 2 of these, one for myself and one for my partner as we were going to a 5 day long festival. At the end of the 5 days each power bank had 2 lights remaining! (4 lights at full charge!). So after 5 days use, roughly once a day to full phone charge, we are amazed by them and would definitely buy again.
These are simply amazing!
This portable charger is quite large but the unique selling point for me was that I can charge multiple devices at the same time and still have juice left to fully charge devices for up to 72 hours before the battery needs recharging. Only disadvantage is that its slightly heavy. Good value for money.
Having had it for over a month and done a 4+ days long camping trip, i can say with certainty that this is good. Seems to be able to charge my iphone 14 pro max multiple times and stay charged for long when not in use. Pretty fast.
I would have preferred a usb-c output as well but not a deal breaker for me.
I guess, the only other question yet to be answered is about longevity but that needs time.
One ISSUE with this power bank. If you are making use of the USB-C PD feature which is 9-12volts and running a DC to USB-C adapter that works very well with other PD power banks then you’re not going to be able to charge ANY other devices without the PD losing power. It’s probably due to it not handling voltage changes say between devices connected.
So after 4 days of not having any response from Charmast they sent me an email explaining that they had taken long in responding because of having to wait on their laboratory to get back to them with informatin on why my powerbank had cooked itself.. The replacement has so far been working very well with no problems…Thank you Charmast
Original post: I purchased the charmast powerbank 26800mah QC version after viewing a few reviews on YouTube is seemed very good for the price.
The very first day I received this powerbank, I plugged in the usb cable that came with it straight into the orange QC port and a spark came from the usb port and the powerbank didn’t seem to be responding but there was a strong burning smell so I unplugged the usb and realised the smell was from the orange port and the whole area around the port was very hot and seemed to be getting hotter by the minute so I called amazon and was advised to throw it out as this could be a fire hazard.
I have since emailed charmast about the problem and have had no response towards what has happened with their product. I have had other charmast products before and have always thought of them to be a decent brand and company but due to no response about whats happened I have lost faith in them.
I’m sure that my unit had a defect of some sort so I know that not all will have this problem however this is still a problem that needs to be looked into and for a company like charmast which should be professional in dealing with responses but so far have failed….
I hate it when I travel and I forget my charging cable or my plug… Typical because I never seem to run out of battery except THOSE days. Never again!
This power bank will now be my new travel companion!
Pros
-3 inputs to charge the power bank
QC3.0 with 3.0 power adapter charges it the fastest
But the easiest (and cheapest way) is to leave the power bank charging over night
-4 outputs.
You can charge 4 different devices simultaneously
– Sleek design
Not much bigger than my iPhone X as seen in the video
-Fingerprint free casing.
If you’ve owned one of those that get fingerprints just by looking at them, I know you will understand what I mean.
-Huuuuge battery capacity 26800mAh
I can almost charge my iPhone X 10 times
-Smart QC 3.0 charge (QC1.0 and QC 2.0 compatible). 3.0 charging cable will be required.
-Battery level indicator with 4 blue lights
-Safeguard technology to protect devices from excessive current flow, over charging and over heating. So charge fast, charge in the go, but charge safely!
-Complete purchase with carry case and three charging cables (1 type C cable and 2 USB cables) Guys… no Apple cable is included (Make sure you have yours to hand if you own an iPhone)
What would I improve?
I wouldn’t have minded to pay extra and also receive a 3.0 charging cable and a QC3.0 power adapter. As at least this way I would have everything I need for my Quick charging needs. But I guess not everyone buys this power bank thinking in quick charging and therefore it’s not included.
Cons
None!
This power bank has great overall quality, amazing battery capacity and all at a very affordable price!
Would I buy again?
Power banks as this one usually last for absolutely ages, but if my partner needed one for work etc, I would definitely buy another.
Would I recommend?
As long as you have checked the phones and models which are not compatible due to different charging protocols…. Of course!
Note/ This is not in any way, shape or form the fault of the power bank. It’s simply different technologies. Like trying to fault a petrol pump for not being able to fill a diesel car Well more or less!
*UPDATE*: 07/08/2019
Their customer support team have given me a detailed explanation about the QC 3.0 charging function and is as follows:
“After reported this issue to our Tech Dept support, I was told that the reason why it cannot work with your phone as following points.
They are using different quick charging protocols.
We checked the shipset adopted for this W2002P 26800mAh power bank, it can only compatible with 2 different Quick Charge protocols: QC and PD(USB power delivery).
However, we checked which protocol your Samsung Galaxy S10 used. And as we see, that’s Samsung company’s own Quick Charge protocol: AFC charging protocol.
For Samsung company, usually they are using 3 different quick charge technology for mobile phones.
Samsung own charging technology: AFC
2 universal quick charging protocols: QC 3.0 and PD (USB power delivery)
Though both devices equipped with QC function, they are using different chipset and charging protocols.
So, they may not compatible with each other when charging and will turns into standard 5V/2A charging automatically.
For Samsung phones, above S9 versions, (for example S9+/S10/S10+/S10e etc.) they are using AFC technology which is incompatible with standard QC 3.0 tech.”
TL;DR: Double check the charging protocol of your phone model to see if it is compatible for quick charge with the orange QC 3.0 port.
Samsung uses their own charging protocol (AFC) and can only be quick charged using the PD usb-C port only. Customer services were very helpful and provided an alternative model that is compatible.
