I was looking for the perfect Android Head Unit for my 2009 Peugeot 207 and I definitely know I’ve found it. After much head scratching and consideration of the pros and cons of choosing a centre console 2DIN head unit versus a centre dashboard mounted option I decided to buy the ATOTO A6G2A7PF. Its not always easy to fit an aftermarket stereo particularly when the replacement fit needs to be as simple as unplugging the original unit and connecting its successor to the original harness. Add to that the fact that since 2009 when my car was built an awful lot of technology has evolved and I wanted to do my upmost to as easily as possible bring my old Peugeot up to date by adding all that new technology and having it all to hand in a single integrated stereo head unit. I wanted to be able to navigate safely without trying to look at my tiny smartphone screen or having to plug my trusty old plug-in sat nav into the lighter socket and stick it onto my windscreen. I wanted to be able to listen to all my music files without the bother of carrying a glove box full of CDs. I wanted to be able to watch a movie in the car while my wife spends countless hours shopping. I wanted to be able to make a phone call safely without having to pull over into a layby to do so. I wanted to have the versatility of having a smart phone to hand without the danger of having it in my hand while driving. Above all I wanted to do all this (and much more) available in a single device and that’s what I’ve now got in the ATOTO A6G2A7PF. It was simple to fit and even easier to connect up to the original harness. I was a little daunted at first but before I started the installation I contacted the ATOTO Customer care team to ask them a few basic questions about what additional harness I would need to buy to ensure everything would work exactly as it should. The team were great and Kiki who helped me at the start and afterwards with additional questions was fantastic. Kiki suggested which interface lead I should purchase before installing the ATOTO unit and so once I’d purchased and received that lead I set-to fitting the A6 in my Peugeot. It took me less than an hour to fit the A6 and connect up all the supplied leads and my interconnecting lead and from the moment I turned my ignition key the A6 came to life. It was easy to configure the head unit to my preferences and everything worked exactly in line with the user manual. It took me two attempts to get Android Auto working perfectly but I suspect that was down to my errors and not the A6.
The ATOTO A6G2A7PF is fast and responsive and its menu system is intuitive and its easy to use and if you’re anything like me and you can manage to use a smart phone at 64 then you will find the A6 an absolute breeze. The sound quality it delivers is superb and the screen is crystal clear. I’m enjoying using it and there’s so much I’ve yet to try. I’m going to add the ATOTO DVR camera to my installation next and as its a plug and play accessory I don’t think I’ll have any problems doing that. The connectivity options are considerable and I probably won’t need all the unit offers (but over time I’ll perhaps be adding a few more accessories). Give the ATOTO A6G2A7PF a go as I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Got this radio to replace the stock head unit in a 2008 Astra H.
Works really well and is compatible with the steering wheel controls. I used an external unit to get the signals from the canbus but think the radio could have done it without, the manual wasn’t clear about this but ATOTO have said they would be including more information about how to do this in the manual.

Support has been good from what interaction I’ve had with them, proactivity reaching out to tell me there is an update available.

I did have to buy a different bracket to install this into the double din slot of the car, the ones supplied by ATOTO didn’t fit mine.

Performance is generally good and responsive. Some of the apps like the radio can be a little slow to grab RDS and might require a bit more fiddling with to get tuned in. I had to increase the sensitivity with mine to get all the stations tuned.

If you use android auto I recommend making sure you update the firmware, that will make it much more stable.

Exactly as described & how was also portrayed by numerous YouTube reviewers.

I am blown away by what you get for the low purchase price, really don’t know they manufacture a Head Unit of this quality for this price.

Well done ATOTO, I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this to anyone who can’t afford the major Brand manufacturers equipment…you won’t be dissapointed.

This device has truly transformed my driving experience.

The CarPlay seamlessly connects to my phone. The touchscreen interface is responsive and user-friendly. The display is crisp and clear, enhancing the overall visual experience.
Lastly, the build quality and design of the A6 are top-notch. It looks great in my car and feels durable.

What truly sets Atoto apart, though, is their excellent and very prompt customer service. They’re ready to help you with every question and guide you through any issues you might encounter during installation. This level of support adds great value to the product.

Overall, the Atoto A6 PF has exceeded my expectations in every way. For me it was a positive surprise, and I would highly recommend it for anyone seeking to enhance their car’s infotainment system.

I’ve been looking into Android Auto head units for a while and Atoto are consistantly recommended as good quality at reasonable prices plus they supply pretty much all you need to fit yourself. I am very happy to say this has proved correct for me.
I only needed to add a double din cage and a wiring adapter to fit the unit and I had to add an extra pin to the supplied power cable because my car has a power antenna. It was very easy to install and looks great.
I spent a morning configuring the unit to suit my needs (you can set your own custom wallpaper!) and download the apps I want use. It’s a brilliant piece of kit and I’m blown away (I can turn my house lights on via the Alex app from my car!).
The unit boots up really quickly, the apps load quickly too and the sound quality is great. It’s really brought my car up to date.

Picked the Atoto A6 Pf based on the good reviews on YouTube and Amazon, I am not disappointed, it’s a great upgrade at a lot less cost than the normal main brands. Other than having to make some brackets to fit it to my old style dashboard, fitting was very straight forward and looks (in my opinion) OEM, because everything is supplied, multiple wiring harness options, every cable labelled, choice of finishing trims. The A6PF is fast to boot up, touchscreen is very responsive, sounds much better than the Alpine head unit that was installed and is very customisable. I have added an Atoto dab radio receiver which is giving very good reception and choice of stations and an Atoto AC-HD02LR reversing camera which gives an astoundingly good quality picturedefinitely recommend the Atoto A6 PF

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this A6PF head unit,, good quality, great sound, easy to fit and very versatile

Although this is a seemingly great unit i do have struggles with it

Sound and functioning is great, the screen is a beast so do have a measure of where it is going to sit. I mainly use it to link to my ECU (maxx race)

DAB – for the life of me cannot get DAB function to work even with several brands of anteni and different apps to no avail. Ive even tried powered antenna with a 12v to 5v transformer to use a usb powered antenna
Dash cam recording worked for a month but now the screen just sits blank on start up, the GPS location for recording speed and location is well off so god knows what satalites it picking up.
It often reboots its self with a loud bang through the speaker when trying to give it a few tasks to do in one go. Very anoying to be playing with later in the day or evening, im sure next door must wonder why im banging about
compatibilty seems to be an issue between iPhone and the the android software, nightmare with what it want to pair with first or either wifi or bluetooth

would love to have it working better but the Q&A and tech support isn’t very help-full

I am so pleased with this unit, it was well presented and had everything needed in the box less the vehicle ISO lead for my vehicle, cheaply purchased of the web. The install was simple and once connected up all seemed fine everything worked. The screen is clear and bright, it’s responsive.
I had one problem and this was with the steering wheel controls however this was resolved with help of the Atoto support team and some google searches, this is now sorted its all good.

I would also like to point out the installed Dab player is not great and is a little deaf and I struggled with it to tune to stations, this was quickly resolved by downloading Dab-z, once installed stations were pulled in no trouble, this maybe something Atoto techs need to look at.

If your looking for an Android header this is the unit to go for.

I would recommend this unit to family & friends.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have an ageing (1997) Japanese import Toyota Granvia Campervan. When imported it came with a Japanese double din unit that was replaced by the previous owner with an Xtrans unit for the U.K. market as the Japanese unit didn’t work in the U.K. Sadly after a few years the Xtrans unit failed but I was never very satisfied with its performance as it was based on an out of date Android system. It was very slow and it hadn’t been installed correctly so only one of the door speakers worked.

I took a lot of time and research to find a replacement and settled for this Atoto A6PF system, as opposed to an U.K. unit; Pioneer, Kenwood etc. I haven’t been disappointed. I already had an ISO adapter for the previous unit which fitted the bill, but the unit came with two alternative ISO adapters as standard. I still had to re-wire the drivers door speaker into the system (not the fault of the adapter). The transformation was huge. Car Play, Android Auto, GPS for google maps, hands free telephone etc., what’s not to like. In addition it has a great amplifier that has made my speakers perform at their best, with good volume and audio adjustments included.

However, unlike some other Atoto systems this unit did not come with a remote control as standard but there is a remote that fits the bill (see my other review of that unit). I now have a unit correctly installed and with a remote unit that completes the installation. I like the fact that the Atoto unit allows you to connect via Bluetooth or wired connection and that additional Apps can be added to the system.

The supplied installation and user manuals are quite comprehensive and easy to follow making the upgrade relatively straightforward for a competent person. My camper is too old to make use of many of the other facilities of the unit – e.g. front & rear cameras, video input, connections to sub woofer, steering wheel controls, tyre pressure monitors etc., but that doesn’t mean the unit wasn’t worth the money I spent on it. I would consider it good value for money and it has enhanced my in car entertainment massively. Recommended.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersAs a Halford’s Audio specialist and fitter for a number of years, I have installed hundreds if not thousands of head units and tech into cars. Because of this, I am very particular when it comes to my own 2008 mk7 Ford Transit. I knew I wanted a head unit that had all the “bells and whistles” but at the same time wasn’t overpriced, restricted, and locked down with slow laggy manufacturer’s software, which you tend to find with them (popular big boy retail brands) not naming any names wink wink.

After a LOT of research, I settled upon the 9″ ATOTO A6 PF entertainment system, and let me tell you, it has completely revolutionized my driving experience. This extraordinary head unit has exceeded my expectations in every way, providing unparalleled convenience, functionality, and entertainment. Strap yourself in, because I’m about to take you on a thrilling ride through the features that make the 9″ ATOTO A6 PF a true automotive masterpiece.

First and foremost, the ATOTO A6 PF boasts a stunning 9-inch high-definition capacitive touchscreen display. The visuals are sharp, vibrant, and incredibly responsive. Whether I’m navigating through its user-friendly interface or enjoying my favorite apps, the display never fails to impress. Its large size makes it easy to read and operate, while the touch sensitivity ensures swift and accurate input, even during bumpy rides.

Equipped with a powerful 8 Core ARM Cortex-A55, 1.6 GHz processor, this entertainment system delivers lightning-fast performance. Apps load instantly, and I can effortlessly multitask between navigation, music streaming, and other applications. The seamless user experience is further enhanced by the Android 10 operating system, which provides access to a wide range of apps through the Google Play Store. Customizing my entertainment system has never been easier!

When it comes to connectivity, the 9″ ATOTO A6 PF shines brightly. Its dual Bluetooth feature allows me to connect multiple devices simultaneously, enabling hands-free calling while streaming music from my smartphone. The built-in Wi-Fi capability ensures that I’m always connected, whether I’m updating maps or enjoying online content. Furthermore, the A6 PF supports both wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, seamlessly integrating with my mobile devices for a truly seamless and personalized experience.

Now, let’s talk about audio quality. The ATOTO A6 PF’s built-in amplifier, coupled with its powerful equalizer, delivers crystal-clear sound reproduction. Whether I’m listening to my favorite tunes, engaging in hands-free calls, or following navigation instructions, the sound is immersive, rich, and perfectly balanced. The dual USB ports provide convenient charging options for my devices, ensuring that I never run out of battery during long drives.

One of the standout features of the ATOTO A6 PF is its remarkable GPS navigation system. With accurate and up-to-date Google maps, I can confidently explore new territories in satellite view without the fear of getting lost. The turn-by-turn voice guidance is clear and precise, and the system intelligently reroutes me to avoid traffic congestion. The GPS integration is seamless, with real-time traffic updates and an intuitive interface that ensures hassle-free navigation.

Last but not least, the 9″ ATOTO A6 PF doesn’t compromise on safety. It supports the integration of a rearview camera and dashcam, providing a comprehensive view of my surroundings when I’m driving, maneuvering in tight spaces, or reversing. The system also supports TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) and OBDII (On-Board Diagnostics II), allowing me to monitor important vehicle data and any fault codes that may arise instantly at a glance.

In conclusion, the 9″ ATOTO A6 PF is an extraordinary entertainment system that has transformed my driving experience. Its brilliant display, lightning-fast performance, extensive connectivity options, and outstanding audio quality are just a few reasons why it stands head and shoulders above the competition and the other market-leading UK brands. Whether you’re a music enthusiast, a tech-savvy individual, or simply someone who appreciates a well-crafted automotive companion, the 9″ ATOTO A6 PF is a game-changer. Buckle up and prepare for a thrilling ride with this incredible device. It’s a purchase you won’t regret!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAfter much research, I decided to buy the Atoto A6 PF 7inch Double-DIN Android Car Stereo
HD LRV, 2G+32G, A6G2A7PF. It appears to come with everything you might need, for installation, but I am writing this review to mention that you may need to know some information which took me a while to discover.

Firstly, you may need to purchase separately, an additional wiring harness for CAN-Bus and steering control (steering wheel switches to operate volume, etc. when fitted to your vehicle). In some instances, the CAN-Bus unit is also needed to send the right signal to switch on a vehicle’s factory installed audio system – otherwise you will install the Atoto and get no sound.

Many modern vehicles use CAN-Bus (Controller Area Network) and you need the correct system for your vehicle. I’m not allowed to post links here, but there are some helpful videos online.

Secondly, I am not an auto electrician, but I do have some basic electrical and electronic knowledge and have fitted regular radio/cd stereos to my cars, in the past. When installing the Atoto unit, even with all the adapter wiring harnesses, you are still likely to need to cut or join one or two wires to connect everything as you need it and achieve the required functionality.

So, it took me a few hours across about 3 days, to get everything working as I wanted – mainly because I had to research help videos and harness supply companies, and order the correct parts, particular to my vehicle.

In terms of use, the unit comes on pretty quickly after a few seconds, and if you turn it off during driving and then turn it on again, it has a stand-by memory which enables it to come on again instantly.

The screen response is fast, like you’d find on a smart phone, although I have had to press quite firmly, at times, to get some menus. (Part of this may be because I am right-handed, driving a right-hand drive vehicle. This means I am mainly operating the Atoto with my left hand and at an angle to the screen).

When using SatNav maps, some of the menu icons are quite close to the bottom of the screen and whilst I like the physical buttons on the unit, just below the screen, I managed to catch the off button when trying to press the tiny menu, bottom left of the screen for a SatNav menu. (This is more an issue of the App software, than it is the Atoto).

    Update August 2023:
Having now used the Atoto A6 PF on a number of journeys, a few issues have arisen:

Firstly, when using a SatNav app, it’s only possible to have the radio on if you mute the audio announcements on the SatNav app. Otherwise, the SatNav audio will put the radio into ‘pause’, effectively switching it off and the only way to get the radio back on, is to navigate back to it and physically turn it on again. Contrary to the mentioned option of deciding the ratio of audio level, between SatNav and Media, this does not overlay sound from one to the other and back again. (On one journey, I had an opposite issue when the radio kept coming on and overriding the SatNav. The only thing that seemed to eventually stop this was to disable radio traffic announcements (TA).

Secondly, using the feature of raising volume with road speed is not incrementally subtle – unless you are a person who likes to drown out all sound at very high volumes. It doesn’t just increase volume by a little; it increases it be far too much. I now have this option switched off and simply adjust the sound from my steering wheel controls.

Thirdly, Mobile phone data / Wi-Fi tethering seems a bit hit and miss. Sometimes the Atoto does not recognise my mobile (iPhone) hotspot and says ‘out of range’ – even with the phone an arm’s length away. I even had the iPhone as one of my ‘saved’ connections – but it seems I sometimes have to manually connect, rather than it being automatic. And then it will recognise my passenger’s iPhone hotspot and work fine; then, on another occasion it will recognise my phone again. All of this is further complicated by the number of options available to connect a phone with the Atoto: Direct USB cable from phone to Atoto; Wi-Fi signal from home Wi-Fi or mobile data with hot-spot tethering; Bluetooth and Bluetooth 2, where the second is supposed to transmit data, (which I thought might include the Wi-Fi from the mobile data). But with some ‘link apps’ you cannot use all of these options together and basically, have to pick one. (See more below).

Fourthly, following on from the above, the uncertainty of whether a Wi-Fi tether, once connected, is staying connected, or not, can be an issue when using an App like TomTom SatNav with ‘Live Traffic’. After a while driving, you may suddenly notice you haven’t seen any traffic reports for some time and later discover the Wi-Fi link dropped out and did not automatically reconnect. It would be helpful to see a small icon on the display when a Wi-Fi signal is still active.

Fifthly, I didn’t have much success with ‘Apple Car Play’ and ended up downloading another link App. This works fine, but says that Bluetooth should not be connected while using – which is a nuisance, since I was using Bluetooth to activate my Atoto unit without having to enter a chosen passcode for security. The age of my iPhone may be part of the issue, but it is young enough to have ‘Car Play’ on it. Using Atoto’s recommended link (and downloading the App on my phone to match the App that comes with the Atoto) seems to now work best.

So you can see, I still have a way to go, before I can completely endorse the A6 PF as the perfect product. However, I would like to mention that Atoto customer support (described as an ‘independent research and development company’ has been excellent and replies have certainly come within an acceptably short time (allowing for different working hours in our respective countries). You can also join a fb group dedicated to users of the Atoto devices.

I recently upgraded my car’s entertainment system with the ATOTO A6 PF, and I must say it has exceeded my expectations in every way possible. From the seamless installation process to its feature-packed performance, this head unit has truly enhanced my driving experience.

First and foremost, the installation of the ATOTO A6 PF was an absolute breeze. With a well-documented instruction manual and the inclusion of all necessary cabling, I had it up and running in just 10 minutes. It’s always a relief when a product lives up to its promise of simplicity, and the ATOTO A6 PF certainly did not disappoint.

The speed at which this head unit boots up is remarkable. It takes mere seconds to go from ignition to a fully operational system, allowing me to access my favorite features without any frustrating delays. This quick boot-up time adds to the convenience factor, making every drive enjoyable right from the start.

The intuitive interface of the ATOTO A6 PF deserves special praise. Navigating through its various menus and options is a breeze, thanks to its well-thought-out design. Whether I’m adjusting audio settings, browsing through music playlists, or accessing my favorite apps, the interface is responsive, easy to understand, and aesthetically pleasing.

One standout feature that I absolutely love is the ATOTO A6 PF’s wireless connectivity with my smartphone. It automatically connects to my phone as soon as I enter the car and turn the ignition on, seamlessly initiating Android Auto. This feature ensures that I can stay connected and utilise my phone’s functionality while keeping my hands on the wheel and my focus on the road.

In addition to its impressive features, the customer care provided by ATOTO is truly second to none. Any questions or concerns I had were promptly addressed, and their support team was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. This level of commitment to customer satisfaction is truly commendable and further enhances the overall ownership experience.

To sum it up, the ATOTO A6 PF is a standout product that delivers on its promises. The easy installation process, lightning-fast boot-up time, intuitive interface, seamless wireless connectivity, and excellent customer care make it a top-notch choice for anyone looking to upgrade their car’s entertainment system. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase, and I highly recommend the ATOTO A6 PF to fellow car enthusiasts seeking a reliable and feature-rich head unit.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIt seems Atoto has thought of almost everything with this head unit. The thing boots up fast when I turn my key then automatically and wirelessly connects my iphone to carplay and away we go. Sound quality is good, can go nice and loud if that’s what you want and has loads of intuitive customisation on equalisation and audio balancing and what not. Having a microphone built into the unit next to the display is amazing, saves the time wiring in an external microphone. And yet it comes with a great looking external microphone too if you’d prefer. Comes with many wiring options and harnesses etc, wiring for amplifier if you’re planning on getting one – which I am – very handy. Plenty of storage onboard the device for your collection of downloaded music, I think I could store over 1000 songs if I needed to onboard alone and still it comes with an external storage USB outlet for a flash drive so storage is never going to be a problem. Support for dash cam, reverse cameras, steering wheel button function. Pretty amazed so far.

Expect to spend quite a while to get set up if it’s your first aftermarket stereo install and if it’s your first android device. Lots of resources online to help with any problems, and Atoto appears to have a pretty active customer support service, however I haven’t needed it yet.

Best part: considering the price point, and all the features and comforts that come with the unit, it’s quite remarkable how affordable it is.

I have installed the A6 PF in my 2015 MG3. I had to get a double din bracket (CT23RO02) to install it as the car did not have a double din mount. The bracket did need some modding to get a good fit but thats another story.

The A6 is everything you would expect from having an Android device in your car. Customisable and adaptable to suit most needs using free and cheap apps from the play store. It is easily rootable aswell for those that want even more control.

Installation was simple as Atoto have included wiring harnesses for both ISO and ISO with constant / acc switched. They also include many optional wiring for camera’s, aux input, line level converters and more. It fired straight up when I first plugged it in.

Sound quality is much nicer than the standard CD player unit. The options for customisation here are immense and bound to suit many tastes as you have full control including time delay for surround sound, loudness and bass boost.

Works very well with Waze, whilst it takes a bit longer than it does on my smartphone to start up. Works perfectly once loaded. It’s very nice to have it on a 7 inch screen instead of my phone!

I have also installed a wifi hotspot with a mobile sim card in my car for this unit. Sometimes there is a little delay when connecting if the hotspot is slow to come on but it seems to connect reliably once it does connect.

Overall so far I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend it for anyone looking to bring an older car up to date. It’s not as fast as a ‘premium’ smart phone, but its also nowhere near the cost of one. Set your expectations accordingly and you may be surprised.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for updating an old CD player!

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersI’ve had the Kenwood and Pioneer Carplay units in one of our cars and in our last motorhome and although they work well enough, I found the software very restricting and updates never brought anything revolutionary, so I delved into cheaper Android head units as an alternative for our new one. I quickly found the sub 150 Android units often had clunky interfaces and laggy touch responses, so during a few rainy days on holiday I took time to research Android head units thoroughly and persistantly found two head units that are widely praised because they are well specced, have solid software, regular updates and proper customer support. These were Atoto and Joying. Atoto scored far higher on Reviewmeta (which seeks out paid or repeat reviews) and they also have a good range of plug and play accessories available so I went with Atoto and I am delighted.

Many of the Android units look the same; big screen, a few buttons, usb slots etc. but often show screenshots of Apple Carplay instead of the units actual software interface, so its easy to think they are all just the same thing rebadged, but no, the components used and development of the software appears to vary wildly.

I was interested in the A6 7″ instead of the Pioneer in the last motorhome, but convinced myself an A6 9″ would be better for bit more money.

The Atoto A6 came with an array of brackets, accessories, several wiring looms, mic and gps antenna etc. In most cases it will simply plug in to the standard din connectors, but the unique canbus plug used on this 2020 Fiat Ducato Cab had to be modified. Happily there is also a loom provided to allow this if you are competent.

You will need to use your imagination a bit to fit the A6 in the dashboard if you cannot lift out that part of the dash as the brackets screw on from the side which may be difficult to access in some cars. I purchased a new double din facia plate and securely fitted the A6 to that, then made hidden metal clips to hold the facia in place. My dash is curved so some of the metal bracket was exposed and had to be covered with a black tape to take the eye off it when looking from the side.

Once in the car, the Atoto A6 starts up super fast (a custom startup logo was added). The home pages have large widgets for music and radio and the rest of the apps can be moved around to suit your preferences. In my case I added some streaming radio, audible and podcast apps. The A6 has wireless Carplay, though as there are multiple drivers for this vehicle we preferred to use wired so we can swap phones around easily. The Carplay activates by pressing the button on the bottom left of my pictures and connects in about 2 seconds. Carplay works perfectly with no noticeable lag when scrolling between pages. Sound quality is superior to the unit it replaces and is very customisable with the built in graphic equilizer to suit our tastes.

The unit has a microphone on the front panel and also a remote mic supplied, both of which worked well and my friends and I could hear each other clearly on a few phone calls. We also had good experiences of using voice commands to activate calls and open apps with carplay. In this motorhome we have full time wifi, so we can use that to stream videos and other content when parked up at night. It also allows the unit to download and update apps.

I also bought 2x Atoto accessories. The Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and the OBD reader to use the included Torque app for virtual vehicle gauges and fault codes. There are 2 USB ports for accessories, I use one for wired Carplay so on the other I fitted a Small 3 way USB Hub for the TPMS and OBD. I am also using the Fiat reverse camera with the A6, though its quite low-resolution so I may change that in the future. It engages quickly when reverse is selected and a useful feature is that the reverse camera can be activated when not reversing to give a rear view when driving. There is also a facility to have a forward facing camera as well.

The A6 has a programmable steering wheel control interface. My vehicle does this through can-bus so I would need an additional adapter. I may look at this in the future, but the A6 is within easy reach so its not a necessity.

I experienced a minor software issue where I could not move the radio and music widgets and found Atoto support contacted me within a day or so and were very friendly and attentive in trying to resolve this. Having actual support adds a lot of value to the Atoto A6 and the Atoto brand. The functionality, ease of use, speed and accessories mean this is a far superior unit to the Pioneer it replaces, in my opinion, so I would not hesitate to recommend Atoto to anyone and I will certainly add one to another of my vehicles.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent unit that we are still delighted with several weeks on... (Ducato)

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersOk so here we go
Is it any good? does it work? is it easy to install?
yes its good. its a lightweight unit with a good touch screen. it is updatable. it is android, so if you have an Android tablet you will feel at home. The functions work, my SWC (steering wheel controls) work fine after learning. For SWC you will need an adaptor, i can recommend Connects2 leads.
Atoto supply a selection of leads with the unit, They go to the expence of 2 power leads A and B. whats the difference? – Well sometimes some vehicles have the battery live and the Accessory live in different positions. The A and B lead gives a lead for either position. Thanks Atoto.
I do find going to the settings hangs a little before it appears, but it the system probably needs updating. And in all fairness they have the updates. These update have to be put on Micro sd card.
There are 4 usb ports, 1 is used for front camera, 2 others are fly leads (supplied) that enable charging and data
and the last is on the front of the unit.
A great thing also is that it supports 2 bluetooth. Bluetooth 1 is for your phone calls or media. BT2 is for ODB2 if you want it.
the screen is bright and dimmable, and the unit i have the Pro has touch controls buttons on the unit for essencial actions, – home button forward, back, volume. (save touching the screen for most used actions).
AND ON TOP OF ALL THIS – ATOTO even provide 2 screen protectors that seem anti refective. Nice touches like this and the extra leads just show that Atoto have confidence and know how to treat their customers.
WHAT ABOUT SUPPORT. – Well i have had a lot of emails to support, mainly about getting my SWC correctly setup without loosing my reversing sensors. – EVERY QUESTION WAS ANSWERED IN LESS THAN 24 HRS. and by the same person, Superb and many thanks.
AND NOW THE DOWN SIDES –
Firstly, this unit can do so much you need a large space behind for all the cables, fortunately the unit its self is not too deep. if you have SWC your going to have to get a SCW adaptor. This can be quite a thick unit, then there is the cameras front and back, then the WIFI THATS RIGHT IT HAS WIFI CONNECT capabilities. Then there is the GPS lead, so you can end up with a few wires to attach. But when your attatched you have everything you could possibly need. CONNECT to your phones hotspot and BINGO, Amazon prime video or Youtube or just plain surfing net.
Secondly, and this is a problem with most items from the easter hemisphere, sometime the Chinglish can be a little confusing. However i find Atoto to be on the better scale of Chinglish. I just wish some of these Easter producers would pass their literature past a european before sending it out.
Lastly, No 2din frame is supplied. Now i have always been used to single din units, and they always came with a fixing frame. So when i opened this box i was supprised not to find a fixing cage. I suspect their thinking is that most would put this unit in as an upgrade to an existing one and already have a frame. But there we are, no frame. A quick visit to your favourite auction site will provide low priced ones though.

So there you have it. Is it anygood? well i only got paid 1 million pounds for this review ( i should be so lucky)
but i have to say, the competitors with the big names and big price tags should watch out, Atoto is about. And this unit is far far better value.
Will it last the test of time? – I hope so, Atoto seem to have given much bang for the buck and with good customer support, they deserve to do well.
Check reviews online and you will find more and more taking a liking to this unit.
    Live long and Prosper All.

Golden Review Award: 52 From Our UsersI have tried to incorporate as much information as you may wonder when purchasing this unit.
I had a M series one of these as the radio was absolutely rubbish I was apprehensive about buying another but the radio although not DAB is superb .
It comes with a wifi ariel that when connecting to the house isnt really much better than earlier models but is adequate for downloading if you dont have an unlimited data plan on your mobile , I mounted my wifi ariel in the top left of the wind screen and the GPS ariel in the top right so they are as far apart as possible,
as i said, the wifi is marginally better than the none arieled version but not by much.
when paired with your phone though the wifi and bluetooth has a good connection and doesn’t tend to drop out like it did on earlier versions ( on the motorway or by traffic lights and you loose the wifi through interference)
You can download GPS/ Sat nav to use without wifi, you can use a segment of google maps or download an app, there are some ok apps that are ok as long ad you have post codes,
The voice commands are good so you can eg say “Hey Siri call Andrew W” and it will do, (it is actually your phone doing that but it transfers over to the head unit very well)
I havent set up all the interface properly yet so I will comment better later but its integration with Iphones is 10 times better than the units have been previously, oh I did buy the microphone for it because the Mic in the head unit is too far away to be effective.

    Forward recording.
Again this feature is MUCH better than the earlier versions, I constantly had to re-boot the esrlier units over recording problems, wouldnt record, couldnt wipe the old recordings off, well this has all been sorted out now and the forward record is very reliable.

A nice feature also is that it has physical buttons on it, this makes operating it much easier while driving for the general features you need.
Bar phone calls and music The head unit operates very well independently of your mobile device, once paired you can just get in your car and the phone/ head unit does not require wifi / data usage to operate, it auto pairs with your phone via bluetooth so there is no need to pair it every time you get in like with earlier models, you do seem to need to make it pair for wifi though, this may be able to auto pair also I will update this in a week or so.

Generally you just get in your car start it up and drive off, once set up your phone connects, or if you are talking on the phone the change over from phone to car is relatively quick and smooth.

    Fitting the unit.

In the pictures it is going in to a 2008 Golf plus.

    What you need.

Facia kit, A double din metal cage, adaptor plugs, terminals for the reverse camera supply, an inline fuse or fuse box terminals to put in an ignition supply ( depending on model of car)
Trim pulling tools ( if you dont want to damage your dash)
And Patience, to out all the cameras, usb connections and ariels takes a LOT of time
I suggest doing the front camera, wifi, gps ariel and microphone one day … leaving the reverse camera wiring cable tied up somewhere and do the reverse camera another day
To fit the head unit in and tuck all the wiring away properly behind the air bags and such with take about 6 hours

doing the reverse camera will take about 4-6 hours depending a lot on which camera you are fitting and where youre mounting it.

Supplied with the kit is a very basic set of mounting brackets so you will need the appropriate facia and the adaptor plugs if you have a DAB ariel a double din kit with a booster would be helpful, I got the facia, the booster and plug adaptors for about 15.00 what I did need was a double din steel cage kit to use keys to remove the unit, however I didnt want it to be easy to steal so as you can see I screwed it together… in the pictures was me in the midst of making and measuring up before fastening the brackets to the facia properly

Decide what you are going to do IE fit forward recorder camera, reverse camera etc and put all the wiring in at once so you dont have to keep removing the unit,
It is quite straight forward to fit, but !

In a Volkswagen you do need to run in a separate wire on a fuse for an ignition supply, if you dont do this the head unit will tend to drain the battery much quicker

Having the correct terminals with being an auto electrician I took out the fuse box and put in my ignition fuse there but you could use an inline fuse.

NB test the reverse camera before instalation, test everything works then fasten it all back in to the dash, check it again and finally put all the trim back on.. on the car.
When working around air bags it is strongly advised to disconnect the battery as popping the trim back on ( although very unlikely) could set them off,
DO NOT TEAR OR DAMAGE THE AIR BAGS IN THE LINING, DO NOT RUN WIRING ACROSS THE FRONT OF THE AIR BAGS

    WHEN DONE!
When done and you re-connect the battery you may see you have the steering wheel light on and the ESP light on saying there is a fault.
Start the car turn the steering wheel fully locked left then fully locked right! This should put the steering light out then drive the car for a bit and this should out the ESP light out.
for me I had the air bag light on as i diss connected the warning light in my dashboard, for this I had to use my diagnostic tool to switch the air bag warning light off.

Thank you for reading this I hope it will help if you should decide to instal it yourself.
    I will update this ASAP
