Great little darts set (board and darts).

It is certainly very basic so would be more suited towards beginners like myself.

It may be basic but it feels decently made, is quite heavy on the board itself and the darts are nice too.

Darts is one of those great pub games that is easy to play at home if you have the space. I used to love playing it as a child, but this 18″ regulation size Haxton Dart Board Set with Steel Darts offered for review under the Amazon Vine programme screams quality compared to that childhood set I fondly remember. The first thing I noticed is the weight — this is properly heavy, indicating well made and likely to have a long life. That’s mentioned in the product information, which states the board is made from “Super dense high grade sisal fibre”. Sisal is a species of flowering plant native to southern Mexico which yields a stiff fibre used predominantly making rope, so instantly better than thick wound paper used in some cheaper boards. It’s also much thicker than boards I’ve previously encountered, which adds to the durability.

That additional thickness and material choice also means the darts are less likely to bounce out unless you are unfortunate enough to hit the good quality aluminium wire straight on. This is well secured with staples only in the doubles and trebles rings, not in the centre which helps minimise bounce outs — the ring isn’t going anywhere fast unless you want it to. The wire is stated to be 65% thinner which increases the scoring area available, in particular for the bull which is 25% larger than standard; so not a professional standard but certainly one that will be popular among keen amateurs The number ring however will easily rotate to reduce wear and tear in one area of the board, aiding longevity. The segments are easy to identify thanks to alternate black and off white segments, with doubles and triples alternative green and red, making for a striking appearance and ease of identifying your target.

The board is accompanied by two sets of stainless steel tipped darts, and it’s probably fair to say this is where economies have been made. They weigh 18 grams — most professional darts seem to be between 21-24 grams, so these are light, and probably suited to a younger user, but that said these are perfectly functional and seem well weighted. The PVC flights feature two very different and distinctive designs which I think are basic but attractive. The board is accompanied by all the fixings you’ll need to fit to a door, wall or similar. At 39.99 I think this is all the money, offering a long life for one of the great pub game experiences, and ideal for a games room, man cave or even a bedroom accompanied by a suitable surround to save the paintwork. You’ll get years of happy, trouble free use out of this high quality board.

5.0 out of 5 stars High quality board particularly suitable for beginners

In basic terms, we don’t play darts a lot and never have outside of pubs, but this beginner set offers a good balance between quality and affordability that made it ideal to put up in our garage/workroom.

The board feels heavy and solid, the darts have weight and throw as you’d expect, they land in the board and stay, this is basically everything that I’d expect from a dartboard. There’s none of the flimsiness you’d get ordering a cheap toy dartboard, everything works like it’s supposed to. A pro might have feedback about the darts themselves or the materials etc, but this feels the way a dart game should in my opinion. At the price, I can’t see anything to criticise.

Decent beginners kit. Ordered for a teen who wants to learn to play so this kit was perfect. The darts are beginner friendly and whilst not professional quality they are still good and he has no issues with them. Board also seems sturdy.

A good quality dartboard like my dad used to have. Nice heavy weight to it and feels very solid. Comes with everything you will need as a beginner. Sure you could get better darts and flights but as a starter set this one is much better than the plastic ones you find around. 40 for the quality is spot on but once you get a little better I would advise upgrading the darts.

A great quality dartboard, sturdy and strong. Good colours, numbers are clear and scoring is straightforward. It comes with 6 darts however there is no compartment to store the darts.

When the darts are thrown, they pierce and stay on the dartboard, they haven’t fallen off yet whilst i’ve been playing. They are lightweight, easy to throw and I’d say this board is good for beginners aswell as pros.

Overall a good dartboard set, it would make a great gift.

Having played darts for many years, the quality of this board struck me immediately. The steel darts felt sturdy, and the bullseye design made a noticeable difference in reducing deflections. With a rotating number ring, I was able to even out wear and extend the board’s life. The design’s vibrancy and detail made it both a functional and decorative piece for my games room.

This dartboard and darts is a perfect way to start playing darts. It took me back to my childhood when my dad and I used to have a very similar dartboard in the Garage.

The dartboard seems to be good quality, and quite heavy. The darts are perfect for anybody wanting to get into the game, but probably you will already have your preferred set if you’ve been playing for a while.

I think that 39.99 seems a fair price to pay for this set as it has everything you need to get started.

We wanted a dart board for our garage, and we didn’t want the cheap plastic kind.

This one is sturdy, and it’s going to last us a long time. It was made well.

However, I’d definitely get different darts because the ones that came with this board are not the greates

This dart board is good for beginners. I’m not keen on the round metal used for the wire work though. If a dart hits them then they fly off the board. Over time the wire comes out of the board too from being hit and bent with the darts.

it’s a cheap dart board, the darts are cheap and are beginner quality.

There is better out there, but expect to pay more for it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for beginners

This dart board is great value for beginners or casual darts fans as it is well made and includes a set of x6 decent quality darts but its also lacking a few other items to make it a truly great set such as a scoreboard / cabinet store case.

That being said the quality of the board is very good; the wire and numbers are clear and the colours are vivid. The darts fire in to the board well and its thickness means its stays affixed on the wall well when darts hit the board with no movement what so ever. The set of darts which are included in set set are lightweight, well balanced and look good in the black and gold design. The flights fit in to the top of the shafts with ease and look good when used.

Overall a decent set, well worth the money but maybe look to invest into a board cabinet as well for the best possible experience.
