Very reliable
very reliable connector for a situation I have tried to fix for ages. Those vga/ HDMI adapters must sell most to people like me who need to convert analogue output to Digital: they work fine the other way round, but terribly in the most common situation where an old laptop needs to connect to digital monitor/projector etc. Fortunately my laptop has a display port, like most do, so this device is perfect. These used to be prohibitively expensive, but not anymore.
Excellent ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter. It lets you connect devices with DisplayPort to devices with HDMI. You can use it with PCs, laptops, desktops, tablets etc. It supports 4K resolution at 60Hz for high-quality display.Great value for money!
Perfect for my needs.
Got a mini PC with only Display Port out and a monitor with only a single DP and an HDMI input. This allows me to use the monitor on it’s HDMI without loss of quality. An easy recommendation 🙂
Thick and sturdy cable
While there is short boots on the connectors this cable are very thick with sleeveing/shielding.
Overall for a fixed installation cable this is very good quality, but should also hold up well in a portable cable kit.
A useful compromise
This is a well made bit of kit. The connectors look to be good quality and it has a thick braided cable that feels very strong.
Obviously the compromise is that if you use this to plug DisplayPort output into an HDMI connector you won’t be getting the full fat DisplayPort experience. However you will get a perfectly adequate display that will be perfectly adequate for many uses.
Ideally a DisplayPort output should be plugged into a DisplayPort input but if you need to mix and match DP and HDMI then this is a very convenient way to do it.
Works well, but only one way
A well made adapter with a decent cable and plugs. Works well from DP to HDMI but as stated in the description only works in that direction – i.e. it does not go from HDMI to Display Port.
Decent option if your display device has no DP adapto
It will manage HDMI specs no problem which is what you could get to your HDMI based device anyway. I have tested it from a PC to both a monitor (1440p @ 165Hz) and a TV (4k @ 60Hz) with no issues, running a HDMI cable to both of course while outputting from my PC’s graphics card.
The build of the adapter is very satisfactory and novel, that it is cable based rather than just the one blocky brick adapter means that it will sit in my device no problem (I have found clunkier adapters can often come loose due to their own weight, or sag and at worst even damage the port). So satisfied that this is a lightweight one. Of course it is more flexible too because of that and you aren’t terrified to accidentally move the cable, you have peace of mind this will stay in the port. The cable is braided which is a nice touch too. Cannot imagine any part of this adapter having any issues with durability even many years down the line.
Early days, but works quite well for me
I got this to connect a Displayport output on my PC to an HDMI monitor, funnily enough! It appears to do the job so far. The cable seems quite nicely made, comes with protective plastic covers over both ends and, unlike some Displayport to HDMI things I’ve used, the plug at the DP end isn’t enormous. Both ends are marked with what they should be connected to (in case you don’t know, DP to HDMI is directional; DP to HDMI is relatively easy, but the other way round needs an active adapter that will normally also take up a USB port!), which is a nice touch.
I'm a very well connected perso
The DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter by Uni-Direction is an absolute gem! It performs exactly as promised, delivering flawless connectivity from my PC, laptop, and other devices to monitors via a KVM switch.
Notably, this adapter handles intermediary devices with grace, making it an incredibly versatile addition to my setup. At just over a tenner, the price is more than reasonable for the level of performance it offers.
If you’re in need of a reliable and efficient connectivity solution, look no further. This adapter is simply perfect!
Works well, feels solid
This adapter does exactly what I hoped it would do, allowing me to connect an HDMI monitor to a computer which only has displayport connectivity.
The picture on the monitor has been perfect. The adapter itself looks and feels solidly built.
Useful adapter to have, not bad value for passive adapte
There’s not a lot to say about this, as realistically it converts a DP cable to HDMI out. It doesn’t say on the description, but I’m pretty sure this is not an active adapter, so you might have some issues if you really need all of the features of displayport (like DSC/full colour/HDR/Super high refresh rates). Realistically, if you need those things, your input/output device probably both have DP connectors, so you should probably just use a DP cable over something like this.
It only uses the 1.4 DP spec, and I’m not too sure what spec HDMI it converts to from looking at my product or the listing. And these being difficult to find makes it pretty hard to know what you’re buying or getting. These for sure should be more clear on the listings, and they actually make this product a little dated, but realistically I don’t think this product is aimed at cutting-edge setups, and its more to make devices you already own a bit more compatible, so I can’t rate it too harshly for this.
If you just need to get a display working between HDMI/DP devices, this is great. Its compact, the cable is braided fabric and the components are solid metal, so it feels quite premium.
DP to HDMI at decent 4K/60Hz
20cm in length, this is a DisplayPort-to-HDMI 4K@60Hz adapter.
Simply connect to a 4K capable HDMI cable that plugs into your display, and the other end into this adapter, which in turn plugs into the DP port on your host machine.
That’s it: you get 4K HDMI-only display easily connected to the DP port on your host computer.
No more bulky adaptor.
This dvi to hdmi 4K adaptor is of a nice sturdy construction with a cloth covered cable so as not to easily split as the pvc ones often do. Each end of the adaptor is made of metal so again won’t easily crack or split. It comes in a pleasing grey colour with gold markings upon it giving it a very nice look. I will be using it on an older business machine that has an nvidia quadro nvs 295 in it which only has dvi connectors. It will be good to get rid of the old bulky adaptor I have for this setup and replace it with this newer, sleeker one. As this card has two dvi outputs I will be purchasing another one and happy to do so at this price point. Recommended.
Useful
A nicely made device with reasonable specifications.
This 4k adaptor is probably going to be used by those who want to connect their PC to a second HDMI monitor, taking advantage of the unused DP port to do so.
The DP plug (without the active catch) and HDMI socket are housed in the alloy, and the cable has a nice dark grey nylon sheath. My first impressions were of a well-made connector, and when installed, it worked as I expected.
It works fine, but spec is limited against current standards
So this can take a Displayport output on your computer and turn it into HDMI so that you can plug into your TV, Projector, Monitor or whatever else you want to connect that needs to use HDMI.
It hopefully goes without saying that if you have the option to connect directly with Displayport you should probably just use that!
As a test run I unplugged my 4k60hz monitor from the HDMI port on my computer and plugged it into a spare displayport via this adapter.
It came up straight away in 4k60hz as normal, although there was a caveat – I could see in the control panel that instead of the usual RGB colour mode it was using YCbCr420 – this gets rather technical but this means that less data was being sent over the HDMI link so the colour resolution was not as good as it had been.
It’s very hard to actually tell the difference using YCbCr420 but there is the knock on consequence that 4k HDR content is limited to 30hz – this will be fine for HDR films (which run at 24hz) but might stop you watching 4k HDR sports at the full rate, for example.
Anyhow, in all likelihood if you are buying this adapter then such limitations are unlikely to cause you any real problems (and this will still perform way better than one of the USB to HDMI adapters you might have come across) but if you have a new TV which is capable of 4k120hz etc then you probably want to keep looking for an adapter that can do all the current standards instead of being limited by this one.
