Fresh smelling, strong (thus also long-lasting), good value
I love this stuff. Eco-friendly and smells much better than the nasty cheapy laundry detergent most people use (even the ‘branded’ stuff).
It’s strong stuff so you don’t need to use much unless you want/need an extra strong wash. Lasts for a good long while.
Well worth it in terms of value.
Been using Ecover Non-Bio Laundry Washing Liquid for a while now, and it’s been excellent.
It cleans really well, produces good bubbles, and leaves clothes feeling soft in the wash. The scent is fresh without being overpowering, which is ideal, and it works well even in cooler washes.
Good value for money too, and the bottle itself feels sturdy and well-made — no flimsy packaging or leaks.
Overall, a reliable, effective detergent that does exactly what you want it to.
Highly recommend.
Washes well
So pleased I bought this product, and for its size, it’s great value. It washes well, and leaves a subtle pleasant smell. This household is switching to more cleaner products for us and the environment, and this brand helps facilitate this.
I like i
I like the big packaging as it’s less plastic and I refill my smaller laundry bottle with this. I like the product and always use it, so bigger packaging allows me to have less impact on the environment.
Great smelling product and good for sensitive ski
I use this for all my families clothes and works well with all of us even though some of us have sensitive skin we have had no issues with this brand
5L refill bottle, thought it will be exactly the same as from small bottles. What we are refilling? It turns to be ‘non concentrated’, still good quality gel, just the value I went for initially turned to be wrong, so missed my expectations.
If you’re considering Ecover then you’re more concerned about the environment than your clothes smelling like someone’s concentrated a field of hydrangeas and sprayed them all over you.
This is pretty no-nonsense liquid. It works well at mid-to-high temperatures, and gets most things pretty clean. Getting it from Amazon has been hit-and-miss. There have been a few times Hermes have dropped the parcel and it’s split, leaving us to have to order more or get another bottle locally. But when it’s not been dropped, the subscribe-and-save has been excellent, saving us lots of money and getting us liquid just when we need it.
If I have any criticisms it’s that the liquid doesn’t work so well at lower temperatures, especially on greasy or grassy stains. I’ve noticed the collars of my shirts have been left a little darker as the liquid hasn’t been cleaning off the dirt ingrained around there at all, needing me to throw in a more powerful tablet from time to time.
My other main issue is that the clothes come out smelling… well.. wet. Nothing more. The machine doesn’t smell great, and the clothes remain smelling a little damp. The ecover fabric softener doesn’t do much either… It might add a very slight floral smell. So I’ve started adding a dryer sheet to perk up the clothes a little.
Overall, this is good stuff, but you do nee to be aware of its limitations. If you work around them, you’ll get good results.
Cleans my clothes even in low washes and decaf t by pouring into a cap used for laundry detergent. I can put into the drawer or the drum of my washing machine. I do not need much to get clothes clean.
This 5 litre ecover is good value for money and lasts a few months with my doing small loads of laundry every day as it is easier for me to hang a small amount of clothes and means I keep on too of it. I live alone but have a small dog with lots of soft furnishings that get regularly washes and even have mats that are washable.
Inhave used this to wash wool in a wool setting and in cold. I have used it to wash mats and rugs also on cold and 20 degrees. I have used it on my whites at 69 degrees and 90 degrees and all of the clothes have been washed perfectly. I have even put a small amount directly onto my clothes where I have dropped my dinner, been spat at by my saute pan and used to clean the mat the dog put food on and used as her own personal place setting.
I regularly purchase ecover and use it along with same brand of fabric conditioner for the washes I can use fabric conditioner.
I have used this to wash my recent purchase of period pants as they cannot have strong liquid detergents nor will ruin the efficacy of them. This gets them super clean without having to handwash.
I have not used this for handwashing but think if gloves are worn there is no reason it would not work but would not use very much of it. A little goes along way.
If you do not like a very strong scent this is a good laundry detergent and if like me you have had skin reactions from laundry detergent this has not given me any. I have had skin reactions so bad before I have had to be covered in hydrocortisone and have looked like a lobster with cracked and sore skin. I would test it beforehand by washing a pair of socks in it and trying it before I would wash everything like your underwear, if you are concerned.
