Good product, packaging is very poo
Product is high quality, sticks well and is durable. However, the packaging has a thick, firmly adhered sticker stick to the roll, making taking it off nigh impossible and ruining some of the roll as a result. Still worth the money.
Easy to use and good quality
Used to back building plans for a building project. Plans stuck well to the wooden board and the adhesive upheld well. This is durable and hardwearing to protect your paper.
Good for weatherproofing
As well as the usual book covering, I use this for weatherproofing notices that need to go outside. As others have said, it can be difficult to find the corner to start off – perseverance is all!
Good produc
Happy with the product, I’ve been using G self adhesive foil for years and I have experience laying it. This product is good, very good price for the size. The only thing is that I can see the white paper pattern in the foil after using it on a very smoother surface – a table. It does not bother me, not sure if other have had the same issue.
All together, I am very happy with this product and the price
DnD map covering
Ok I used this for something odd. Covering DnD maps. I wanted to be able to dry wipe them. It’s not easy to do since I have to cover with multiple strips and make sure there’s no bubbles in a large area.
Honestly it did a great job despite being fiddly to get right but that was never its intended purpose.
Bought the 33x 3m. Takes less space to store than a full book size . Perfect for covering 20cm high paperbacks if you place the book so that its spine faces you when you unroll the sticky cover on your right or left. It will fit so that you only have to cut the side that is close to what is left of the roll. I used a ruler to slowly help unroll and then to hold the film in place ( on the edge of the plastic perpendicular to the book) when sticking the back first. For someone who is not used to use sticky covers, i would recommend they watch a video of how to do it the right way ( i have my own way to avoid bubbles but surely they are other methods). This plastic gave me hardly any trouble in terms of bubbles as compared with a full size book cover from another brand . Covered 3 books in one session but had to be careful not to mess it up ( still had to unstick and restick on 2 occasions one side but was ok ). Happy with the final result.
Great quality and strong adhesive
Bought this for my kids school books and it’s superb quality which applies to books very easily. My only gripe is that for the price you don’t really get that much. It was just enough to fit the books but I think if it was a little bigger it would be perfect.
Used to cover a paperback reference book that was just beginning to get a bit tatty. It does the job well, and should prolong its life significantly.
The squares marked on the backing made it relatively easy to mark the cover before cutting it to to size and shape – as it requires 45 deg cuts on the flaps.
However, it loses a star because I had quite a difficulty in getting it to lie flat and starting to peel the backing off – it is very well attached indeed. Once the backing is off you have to be very careful to stop the film from curling up and sticking to itself.
(The approach I took, successfully, was to weigh it down at the ends before removing the backing and to peel it back from the centre, leaving the backing on the edges (which will be folded over as flaps) until later. Start by carefully locating the spine onto the exposed adhesive press it down well, and then drop the book so that the front is covered, keeping the film taut and smoothing it on to expel any air bubbles. Now move the weight from that edge, remove the film and pull the flaps over and smooth into place – the 45 deg cut means that the side and top flaps will neatly but up against each other. This process can now be repeated for the back).
