This is a nice brand for a pump. I have the medela bra as well so that I don’t have to hold it. The pumps works well, easy to operate and most importantly you can clean it easily.

The electric breast pump by Medela arrived in a branded cardboard box and inside is x1 electric pump with a strap (called the Solo pump), x1 hands free collection cup already set up for use, x1 connecting tube, x1 USB-C charging cable, x1 UK plug with USB-A port for the supplied charging cable and a comprehensive user manual which is definitely worth giving a read. The pump is relatively compact and is lightweight weighing only 76g.

The pump itself is white in colour (although it is grey on the back) and the collection cup is transparent. The transparent collection cup allows you to place your nipple correctly and monitor the milk level expressed. Since the collection cup also has the measurements embossed into the cup it is easy to read the output volume after use.

There are four buttons on the electric pump including an on/off button, a mode button (which switches between stimulation mode to be used at the beginning and expression mode after the initial stimulation which recreates a baby sucking) and a button each for + and – to increase and decrease the suction level. The buttons are easy to operate and simple to understand.

The main feature of this breast pump is that because the electric pump is rechargeable and the collection cup fits perfectly into a nursing bra the set is hands free meaning that you can multitask whilst you pump, offering flexibility when you are likely to need it! The breast pump has a good anatomical designed which fits against the breast comfortably with a 24mm flange and I’ve found that it expresses milk well. I found the collection cup very comfortable to use with the soft, food grade silicone material and the collection cup is relatively discreet.

The collection cup is well thought through as it is easy to pour the milk into storage bags or bottles and it is easy to pull apart to clean disassembling into 3 parts which are suitable to clean in the dishwasher. The cup also has the ability to stand by itself which a very useful design feature and you don’t have to worry about milk spills. The collection cup can hold 150ml of milk and it is both efficient and leak free. The tube connection into the collection cup can be inserted either way to make it easy to pump each breast and trail the tube appropriately.

I think that the pump system is fairly quiet, doesn’t cause pain and is very convenient. The electric pump charges reasonably quickly and can be used a few times before needing a recharge but this is dependent on the settings that you use. There is also an app available called the ‘Medela Family’ app which allows you to input data in order to offer real time tracking as well as information and pumping tips as well. The breast pump seems to only be sold as a single unit and is currently priced at 149.99 at the time of reviewing, which I do think that this is good value for money considering the comfort and convenience of the pump.

I must say I wasn’t sure if to invest in another breast pump. I had initially ordered the hospital grade medela pump but I found that I just didn’t have the time nor the practicality of pumping in one place. I returned the hospital grade pump due to lack of usage.
My daughter refuses to take bottle/formula so was hoping to pump again and I must say “where have you been all my life”.
The pump is quiet enough to pump next to a sleeping baby. You can pump anywhere from your living room to just before bedtime in bedroom. It’s quite discreet so you gain that privacy a bit. Just pop it into your sports bra which holds it in place an voila. Pumped twice already and got 150ml each time.
I do not regret this purchase.

Breastfeeding, while beautiful, can come with its challenges. This hands-free breast pump became my ally in this intimate journey. Its anatomical design ensured comfort and effectiveness, and its feather-light weight made it delightfully discreet. What struck me was its transparent design, allowing me to monitor every aspect of the pumping process. And with the added advantage of connecting to the Medela Family app, tracking and accessing valuable insights became a cinch. A modern tool for the modern mother.

My wife loves her Medela Solo Hands-Free Breast Pump! She says it’s a lifesaver. It’s compact and lightweight, so she can take it with her wherever she goes. It’s also very easy to use, even with one hand.

She loves that the pump is hands-free, so she can keep doing things while she pumps. This is a huge plus for busy moms who don’t have time to sit down and pump for long periods of time.

She also appreciates that the pump is very quiet, so she can pump without disturbing anyone else. And the Solo pump is very easy to clean, which is a must for any breast pump.

Overall, my wife is incredibly happy with her Medela Solo Hands-Free Breast Pump. She highly recommends it to any breastfeeding mom.

Here are some of my wife’s specific thoughts on the pump:

“The Solo pump is so convenient. I can just clip it onto my bra and pump while I’m doing other things, like folding laundry or making dinner.”
“The pump is also very efficient. I can get a full bottle of milk in just a few minutes.”
“The Solo pump is also very comfortable to use. The suction is strong but not too strong, and the flanges are soft and gentle.”
“Overall, I’m so grateful for my Medela Solo Hands-Free Breast Pump. It’s made breastfeeding so much easier and more enjoyable.”
I’m so glad that my wife is happy with her pump. It’s great to see her be able to pump so easily and efficiently. I would definitely recommend the Medela Solo Hands-Free Breast Pump to any breastfeeding mom.

Breast pumps need to be effective yet comfortable. This one, with its anatomic design, truly adheres to the breast shape, promoting efficient milk extraction. The lightweight nature is a blessing, making it easy to carry around. The transparent design provides clarity during the pumping process, ensuring correct placement. While it performs admirably, a few tweaks could make it even better. For new mothers seeking a discreet and functional pump, this product offers a noteworthy experience.

I ordered the Medela Solo Hands-Free Breast Pump | Compact and Intuitive Single Electric Breast Pump.

This hands free breast pump is a game changer! Gone are the days of being restricted to a plugged breast pump. This is great as you can still get on with the things you need to do whilst pumping milk. I heard great things about medela and I wasn’t disappointed!

At the time of reviewing this product was priced at 149.99.

    I would recommend this product.

This is a very good breast pump that works effectively. Medela is a well known brand for their breast feeding products so you know you are getting a quality product. It is very easy to set up and use and it lasts a long time before needing charging. The suction is good and easy to clean after use.

This breast pump is as light as a feather and has a good quality rechargeable battery with long lasting power , it’s also super lightweight and ergonomically well designed with really easy to use buttons that are large and set out really simple to use so it’s designed to be super easy to use and clean , saving you time and effort and enabling busy parents to be able to multitask safely with the hands free design.

It’s a very good quality pump that is simple to use and clean, with a clever transparent design, enables hands free operation and at 76g is very lightweight, a top quality device making life easier for busy parents.

I want to preface this review with.. only get this if you generally have a high output of milk. This pumps suction is OK but not super strong, so it will not help massage the milk out or help generate more, it will just help you remove what is there, if that makes sense. In all it holds approx. 150mls of milk, or roughly 5oz whatever way you look at it.

Other than that though, it is a great pump. This for me has been very comfortable, I haven’t had any skin irritation and have been able to wear it under pumping bras with no issues. Good seal, I haven’t had any leaks so far.

When finished pumping, there’s a spout at the top that you can use to pour straight into a milk storage bag/bottle. The base of the shell has a flat base so can be set down if need be. Easy to take apart – dismantles into 3 parts which makes for easy clean up.

In addition to the main pump there is also the usb c charger plug and a usb c cable – finally something arrived with a plug! There is instructions you can follow but also directs you to an app which I feel is easier to understand. Charges from empty to full within a couple of hours.

This is a really great product. I got this for a friend who just had a baby and she absolutely loved it. It was very easy to assemble and use. Fits nicely in the bra and is lightweight too. Hands free collection has made it so much simpler and easier. Battery lasts for a good amount of time. Love the fact that cleaning the pump is quite easy and straightforward.

Only minor issue is that the suction could have been a bit better.

Overall, my friend did say that this pump has made her life so much easier and the pump is good.

Hope you find this review helpful.

Medela hands free breast pump makes expressing milk much easier and can be used anywhere. The pump is discreet and fits snugly into the bra. I like how it’s clear so you can check it’s positioned currently. Also so you can see how full it is. There is an app you can use to track how much milk you’re expressed and also gives useful tips and information. The pump is easy to clean with warm soapy water. The control is easy to use and fits into the palm of your hand easily. The pump is fairly quiet and doesn’t distract you. It’s comfy to wear and you can carry on with daily activities whilst using this which is si useful. Great quality and worth the price.

I adore this company and I can say for sure that these are the best breast pumps available on the market. Initially, when I didn’t know which company to choose, I tried many different types and forms. Mostly they were uncomfortable, it was painful and unpleasant, it got to the point that I cried before every feeding of my baby. That was until I tried a Medela breast pump. I had a Medela Swing and it was amazing! A completely different level, there was no unpleasant feeling, no pain or skin irritation. Everything happened smoothly and didn’t cause discomfort. The only thing i didn’t like was that I had to hold the pump all the time and it was terribly annoying. I am very glad that this company has a pump like this. You can simply put it in your bra. Incredibly easy to clean! It disassembles in a second and you can put it all in the sterilizer. Thick plastic, wide 24mm funnel, excellent shape and only one wire that comes from the base, very lightweight and compact. By the way, the base is a little heavier than the Medela Swing’s.
Yes, this is not a cheap pleasure, but this pump cannot be compared with cheap analogues. Highly recommend! All the products from this company are magical.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best pump

I have had my medela solo for a few weeks now and I am so impressed how quiet it is! It’s really improved my night as no wires means I can pump in bed while nursing on the other side and it’s quiet enough not to wake my husband!! It’s really helpful! The flang in this new model also feels more comfortable for me, there’s less parts to sterilise as well so it was a lot easier to keep it clean and ready to go which made it more inviting to use it more often. I am really pleased with this product, it definitely improved a lot compared to older models!!

Easy to set up and use. You get everything included in the box, to be able to use straightaway (after an initial clean). Its really easy to set up, with clear and understandable instructions to follow. Theres even a downloadable app to help you input and track everything. It looks and feels of excellent quality and really well made. The pump unit is fairly compacted and is rechargeable via a usb type c charger, so can be used without the power cable attached, so can be used and taken anywhere with you and charge if needed. It’s fairly quiet when in use, not being a distraction at all. Its comfortable and gentle to use, but very effective. It lightweight and sits close to you, so bearly noticable, youre hands are free and you can multi task whilst expressing. Comes with a 24mm shield; oval shape, wider at the bottom to help maximise milk flow and give support. It will hold 150ml/5oz of milk. Fits the breast well and creates a good seal. Neutral colouring, it looks lovely in design. The control pad is simple with 4 buttons and easy to use. It has 9 pre programmed settings, so you can find the most convenient one for you. Its lightweight, so easy to move around and set up where needed. The perfect starter set for a new mum. Everything is easy to take apart and give a good clean, with no fiddly hard to reach areas, with only the cups that need cleaning and its only 3 parts to clean. Perfect to use anywhere, convenient and rechargeable. Effective and gentle, pain free pumping.

As a well known brand of medela pumps, they have a high expectation of quality and trust. Hands free pumping with anatomically correct to be be comfortable for the wearer, being under 80 grams of weight and small enough to be placed in the bra. Cleaning is a breeze with its three part design, that separates and can be put in the dishwasher for easier cleaning. Also you can download the app to your phone which provides you a personalised tracking routine. The price is at 150 but the comfort and the quality matches the price and will serve you well after child after child.

Having previously owned a hands free single breast pump, I had high expectations for this item. I like that the control is attached to the collection cup by a pipe so not too heavy or bulky to misshapen my bras. However, the control pack is as big as my hand, reminding me of a computer mouse so doesn’t easily fit in my jeans pocket but does go in my shoulder bag – it also has a lanyard loop so could be attached to belt loops on trousers with a carabiner for example. The app has lots of useful tips and advice available

4.0 out of 5 stars Great accompanying app. Syncs well with device. Discreet design.

Medela had been recommended to me by a friend and I was having to give it a go!

I was really impressed! It’s so easy to use and quiet as well. The instructions are easy to follow and the pump itself is easy to use with the controls being simple and easy to remember.

It was comfortable to wear and gentle on the breast and nipples. I really liked it from day one and have been using it without problems for a couple of weeks now.

Worth paying a bit extra for! Exceeding quality.

Anatomically designed to be a comfortable fit whatever your breast shape. This is a really light weight pump at only 76g and is small enough to fit comfortably and privately in the bra. Made of three parts it is really easy to assemble and clean and the best thing for me is that you can put it in the dishwasher. I like the see through design so that you can see what you are doing and that the unit is correctly placed. You can install the Medala family app to provide automatic tracking personalised to you. For its price I feel that this is an advanced and well thought out pump which is both user friendly and extremely comfortable to use.

I have always preferred the Medela pumps and this one is no exception. I’ve owned a Solo with the funnel flange, then opted for the dual handsfree model, but have found that when I pumped both sides at the same time, the suction wasn’t as strong, so always ended up pumping one side at a time for a better output. This one is the best of both worlds, still handsfree but only one side at a time. Also less cables dangling about, a more lightweight control pod and uncompromised suction. So simple to use with the four buttons, you can easily feel the raised symbols so can operate by touch in your pocket. The cable input would also work with the funnel style flange if you also happen to have the cable for that too. The handsfree shell is so simple to clean and put together with only 3 parts. Easily fits into a microwavable sterilisation bag with bottle. The control pod doesn’t have bluetooth but if I’m honest on the dual handsfree one, all it did was log the time of the pumping session, a feature I rarely used as it really didn’t add anything to the tracking data. So I don’t miss the bluetooth on this one. Very quick to charge in a couple of hours and easily lasts multiple pumping sessions. It comes with a 24mm shell. I much prefer the handsfree shell to the funnel flange as it easily slips into the bra and very comfortable to use. I’ve never had a Medela shell leak on me. Once you’re done you can easily tip out the milk from the spout at the top straight into a bottle. The shells also have a flat base so you can stand them up too. The transparency of the shells are very useful during pumping so you can ensure the best fit and gauge a rough idea of how much you’ve expressed. I don’t rely on the volume measurements on the side during a pumping sessions as it won’t give an accurate reading if its not properly upright. It’s a good all rounder and worth the extra money for the handsfree shell for mess free comfort.

Really liked this pump. It helped me a lot in the first couple of days when my breasts were too hard for baby to latch on. The battery lasts at least 7 pumps of 15-20min. Very easy to take it with me wherever I go. Easy to clean too. Just annoying you have to hold it on your breast the whole time, compared to the rubber collector that keeps itself attached. Overall really good, would recommend.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersA great pump with good suction and easy to assemble and clean. However the battery lost its life very quickly after purchasing and only using a few times, so sadly returned and bought a hands free elvie instead- not as good suction but much more convenie
