How to apply
- Place item in washing machine
- Apply Nikwax Tech Wash/TX.Direct in the machine’s dispenser
- Select a normal wash cycle, start machine and complete rinse cycle
- Alternatively, just apply Nikwax in a simple hand wash
- Drip-dry or tumble dry on a low setting if the care label allows

- Always check the garment care label and follow instructions
- Always clean garments first with Nikwax Tech Wash/TX.Direct before re-proofing
- When using a washing machine, remove traces of detergent from the dispenser before adding Nikwax

My old jacket feels like new
I don’t yet know about the rainproofing, but it has to be better than it was! My old cotton jacket looks and feels like new. It must be nearly 40 years old! Whether it has improved the showerproofing I don’t yet know!

We live on a farm and regularly need to wash waterproofs, this set is ideal to freshen things up and ensure it stays water resistant, good value for money, good size, I can normally get 4 coats out of one bottle. Not a strong smell but definitely fresh. Very versatile.
My washing machine has a special program for outdoor clothes, so I could use the Wash in the detergent compartment and the weatherproofing in the conditioner compartment. Jackets came out well, and water is just bobbling on the material. Haven’t tried them in a downpour yet.

A must for a feather and down jacket. However the waterproofing part is better done in the bath which is a bit of a faff but helps smooth out any clumps of feather/down. Fold jacket and put in the washing machine on a low spin …. Of course it could just be my jacket design.
New life in my Berghaus
Does exactly what is says on the bottle, my Berghaus Gore-Tex is like new again. Pay attention to the quantity of each liquid to add depending how hard or soft the water is, it does make a big difference in your washing machine.
10/10 Waterproofing
I don’t usually write reviews but this product really warrants one.
I managed to wash away the waterproof coating of a fairly costly jacket but this product has brought it back to its former glory with water rolling off it like water off a ducks back.
As with most things try to follow the instructions to a ‘t’ to get the best results.
Restored my Patagonia Torrentshell waterproofing!
My much-loved Patagonia Torrentshell had lost most of its waterproofing. I went out in the rain the other day and the tech wash and waterproofer appear to have worked wonders! Even the feel of my jacket is much better now. Would definitely buy again.
Does what it says
It’s good but I’m finding it very expensive for what it is though, specifically because it mentions on each bottle only 1-2 items per wash but a wash uses a half of each bottle
Use regularly to maintain waterproofing
I use this to maintain waterproof clothing. It’s good value- each bottle does several washes. I was surprised that it leaves clothes feeling soft and comfortable- I thought it might make them stiff or leave a coating, but they feel great, and keep their waterproof performance.

Used to re-waterproof an 8yr old goretex jacket. Has completely revived the waterproofing of the jacket, as good as new. This product works and is excellent value. How long it will last remains to be seen.
I’ve been wondering for a little while now why my Goretex waterproof coats are getting soaked through and taking ages to dry. I found the problem was I’ve been washing them with small amounts of detergent in the wash! A friend suggested using a wash in waterproofer so I grabbed these from Amazon and used them straight away. Rinse cycle to clean the drum first, then in with the cleaning solution, followed up with the waterproofer and then a final rinse to clean the drum before the next clothes wash.
It’s safe to say I should have done this many years ago, my coats are as good as new now and water just bounces off the surface. This means after a long dog walk I can shake the coat outside and it dries in minutes. No more smells or drips on the floor inside. The only downside is the bottles are quite small and you do need quite a bit of the solution each time, the waterproofing bottle will do 3 “garments” in total according to the instructions, you might get away with putting less in but I wanted maximum protection so used suggested amount. Hopefully this doesn’t need doing again for a while at least.

I needed to wash a waterproof coat so opted for this product. So far it has washed and reroofed the coat well. Time will tell how good the waterproofing really is, but so far happy.
I hadn’t read the washing instructions on my rain jacket telling me to tumble dry it after washing to restore the water repellent features – so typical of me, when will I learn? – and got soaked in the first heavy shower. Bought this set and did mine and my daughter’s jackets – reading the instructions properly! – and they were good as new again. Very happy with my purchase
