The OUKITEL WP28 is a very smart and cool looking mobile phone that’s built in a rugged design to minimise the likelihood of accidental damage following a drop or fall.

The device features 15GB of RAM, 256GB of memory and it can quickly be expanded if required with up to an additional 1TB by using the TF card slot. It has a very large 10600mAh battery, runs Android 13 and includes decent quality front and back cameras.

The device has an IP68/69K rating which means it can withstand some tough environments without issue. It also comes with dual sim card slots for peace of mind overseas as you can use a local sim card whilst still receiving notifications from your home number.

Overall a great device, fair value for money and very pleased.

I was prepared to be underwhelmed with this , I have a tablet this brand that’s been solid, but this is significantly cheaper than most “rugged” phones but I chose to give it a crack .
I’m pleased I did it’s been brilliant, my daily is a Motorola razr ultra 40 but I hate having it at work as it’s a flip done with a potentialy week screen ,
Anyway wanted a cheap and rugged phone for work and the price and recognised name drew me to this .
It boots faster much faster than pretty much any phone I’ve ever used, not hyperbole either it’s proper fast .the screen is decent regardless of not having all the buzz words .
Charging is just average taking about 4/5 hours to max but it’s lasting me a good 5 days with streaming music via BT,calls SMS and checking bank making up most of my usage during the day .
It’s solid too ,having fallen from my hand while on forklift and pinging around ,quick wipe looks like new .
Down side is that the thing is bulky and takes a little getting used to .
But despite it being just my work phone if you don’t mind the bulk it’s just as good for every day use

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly performative

The appearance and design of the WP28 rugged phone attracted me, so I bought it for less than two hundred pounds for the first time. The functional configuration is good. I tested it at home and put it into the pool without any problem. I’m going camping with friends next week, and I’m looking forward to its wonderful performance.

What can I say. It’s bulky, but that’s ideal for someone who can be a bit dopey and drop their phone! Call quality is great. It’s a pure android version, so no bloatware. Yes there are some little apps on there in toolbox such as a compass, a protractor and a mirror (well selfie cam), but who uses those. Tonnes of storage. Battery life – amazing. Even with heavy use I am ending the day between 68 to 81%. Compare that to my last phone which I’d end the day on 30% with heavy use. Volume is loud. Ringtones are loud, so ideal if you rush to your phone. Has NFC which is always a winner. Camera is 48MP, but it’s perfect. Not tried the macro cam. The selfie cam is only 5MP and a bit blurred, but I can live with that.

    Overall worth every penny.

This is the fourth Oukitel phone i have had, last one was the WP6, absolutley no complaints, unfortunately I mislaid it in an airport and never saw it again. So I ordered the WP28. Excellent battery life as before. The camera: its ok in the daylight, night shots, pretty poor. The colour is not as good as my partners Samsung, but i didnt get it for that, I got it for battery life and durability, it fulfils all of those. Presentation of the phone is good, arrives in a nice gox with charger, cable too. My cable was faulty, its a type C to type C and it simply did not work, I had another so used that. One more thing that I have noticed, if I make a call on eg whatsapp all works ok but yesterday I recieved a call via normal phone lines and all ok until the phone display went dark, (two minutes set for display off) then I could not hear the caller ?? As soon as I clicked the screen button again all was ok ?? Scrolling is not a smooth as e.g. and Apple phone but its ok. Do I like this phone? Yes, it does what I want it to, keeps going for days, I dont have to worry, is the battery gonna run out when I need the phone, no. For this price I am happy, I think there are a few glitches that need to be ironed out so maybe an update will sort.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersGenuinely a bulky well built phone full of juice, I took it out the box with like 97% and 4hrs later it was 89%, that’s wilddd. Obviously out of the box tests aren’t always accurate so of course I tested it out over several days and the battery is pretty solid.

As you can see in the video I’ve also tested out the gaming, now it’s not anywhere near flagship levels, graphics will be capped on medium at best but it sure does work well. I have seen a similar version from this brand with higher graphics and a 120hz screen that would destroy any gaming setting but it’s abit expensive, this one is a good range for if you need something well rounded. I do wish I could have tried the higher tier model.

Camera quality is good, however this phone prioritises other features like the battery, the durability and the waterproof. I’ve tested out the audio in the 3rd part of the video attached. It’s does get very loud so that’s good, you can be the judge of it.

I am using nova launcher as their OS skin in my opinion feels cheap, and honestly I wish they had just kept it android 13 stock os. You can see theirs in the last 2 pictures. Just some advice for the sellers, please at least give the user the option to remove the bronze colour in the scroll down bar.

Lastly this is mostly my fault for not checking the description, but it’s not actually 15gb ram, it’s actually 8gb and with an additional 7gb virtual ram, virtual ram is no where near as powerful as actual ram, and other phones have this feature but advertise the normal ram, so I don’t think it should be included in the title as it may mislead people. Nevertheless 8gb is still really good and you can see how it performs well even in gaming.

I think if you’re frequently going on hikes or wet conditions, then this is perfect to use. I can easily see this being someone’s work phone for rough conditions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Battery powerhouse!
