Make polishing the car easie
I have been looking for a cordless car polisher for a while as I find getting cables to my car is not convenient. Seeing the Ruyika polisher, it looked like to would be a good solution.
The polisher comes with a few different pads for applying and buffing off polish along with some sanding pads for sanding wood or similar. These are OK quality but not the best – they wear out faster than more professional ones. The apply using hook & loop type materials which hold well.
The two batteries that come with the polisher are OK and charge without getting hot. They last for a long time – enough time for me to polish the car. Having a variable speed also allows me to control the polishing more. I also noticed that if a lot of pressure is applied when polishing, it slows the rotation to nearly stopped and it is more vibration than rotation.
Another benefit is that the feedback from the vibration is low enough that I don’t finish the car with my arm still vibrating.
Automotive: good for light polishing. A mains operated machine is better for paint correctio
The main attraction for this machine is it has a dual action mechanism. A second attraction is cordless operation, with the minor inconvenience of needing to keep the battery fully charged and maintaining charge levels throughout periods of non-use. Two battery packs are supplied which reduces ‘charge anxiety’. The charger itself is a cheap wall-wart with a small led indicator showing two states – battery charging and battery full.
The polisher is not particularly quiet but if you are used to a mains operated DA machine the noise level is perfectly acceptable.
I found the supplied polishing pads to be of reasonable quality but for best results on car bodywork you would be well advised to invest in Meguiars pads, or an equivalent professional grade item.
For paint correction work the machine is not as capable as a mains-operated polisher, but for use with polish and final finish waxes it is excellent.
It’s very good
I was pleasantly surprise with this for polishing the van, it’s an old one so they’re always filling, touching up, sanding down then polishing up to do. The body feels really solid in the hand and it has some weight to it. With the rubberised body in parts it feels like a big brand make with a bit of quality.
The battery charger is the only thing that lets it down, it’s one of those that comes with a plug socket and a lead that connect straight into the battery instead of having a cradle or attachment, I always wary of these but it seems to work and the battery holds its charge and delivers steady power.
You get a couple of wet and dry paper and some cleaning foam pads and a polishing pad. The extra pads are readily available from many sellers and it’s just a Velcro attachment so any will fit if you get the correct radius, you don’t want the pads to be too small.
It feels good using it and it’s easy to apply variable pressure and there is a selector switch to go beetween the 6 speed settings.
I’ve been impressed with this, it’s easy to use and has a good waterproof switch to use with the wet and dry.
Versatile and Portable polisher.
The RUYIKA Cordless Car Polisher Buffer is a very good cordless car polisher buffer for car care and furniture sanding. It is feels quite strong, its easy to use, and effective at polishing and sanding. It is also relatively affordable, making it a good value for the price.
The polisher sander comes with two 1500mAh batteries for long runtime and also includes 150mm sponge pads for a variety of polishing and sanding tasks. It also has variable speeds and offers quite strong power considering its battery powered.
Good little charge
Got this for my Brother in law for his Birthday as he is a car fanatic and his original polisher isn’t cordless.
The two batteries are excellent. They take a while to charge which is why I gave it four stars instead of five, however it allows greater flexibility when using it.
The different discs are excellent and they’re also easy to clean too. Would recommend this to others.
Cordless polishe
I got this RUYIKA Cordless Car Polisher Buffer, Polishing Machine for a relative. They are very pleased with it. They said it’s easy to use and liked the fact it’s cordless.
Powerful and compact polishe
This item is a real gem! – ordered as needed to polish some scratches out of son’s car… the item came securely packed and upon opening the pack, I was greeted with a huge selection of accessories- 2 batteries, charger, various polishing bonnets and even sanding discs. This alone for “value add” is impressive.
The bonnets are “hook n loop” style attachments and seem solid enough when fitted. With the battery attached, the polisher is well balanced in the hand and comfortable. There is an on/off switch and a rotary wheel 1-6 for the speed (6 being the highest). When set on speed 6, there is little discernable noise, although the vibration is strong. I tested it on the said scratches, using it to apply some auto-glym cutting polish and the used the buffer pad to polish it off… wow- not only did i remove the scratch (which was moderate) but also brought up the metallic blue luster of the paint really well.
Great price break on the item, my only concern would be sourcing replacement polishing bonnets, but i am sure there would be some alternatives available. Highly recommended.
Reassuringly hefty
Having bought a respected brand name (Black & Decker) oscillating tool with a very similar slot-in triangular battery layout, which felt poorly constructed and feeble from day one (and which the battery kept falling out of from day two and stopped taking a charge on month four), straight out of the box I was impressed by the reassuringly hefty feel and solid construction of this device.
No, it isn’t light, but serious kit seldom is; everything fits together firmly and well, and when powered up it takes some stopping. I recently trialled and reviewed one of those rechargeable spinning scrubbers advertised as good for floors and it simply kept cutting out with the slightest pressure applied because the motor just wasn’t up to it; this polisher, by contrast, just keeps on going, and it isn’t even meant for scrubbing. If it were IPX7 waterproof certified that’s what I’d use it for! (NB: it isn’t, which is fine and correct for this product).
With a spare battery so you always have one on charge this is a piece of kit that feels like you could rely on it in regular use. I was thinking it might make a nice present for someone once I’d trialled it but no, I’m keeping this for myself.
Excellent for Resin work, batteries last well
This is a car polisher but I was after a polisher for epoxy resin. This one is just perfect.
It’s cordless so I can use it in my garage which has no electricity, it has 2 rechargeable batteries (a charger is provided) and loads of cleaning / polishing heads.
It’s so simple to use – literally plug in a battery at the bottom, attach whichever head you want and switch on. There is a power wheel at the top of the handle for the level of RPM’s and there are 3 battery light indicators just above this.
The pads are like a velcro so you just stick the pads on and they stick well. I didn’t have any issue with them coming loose at all.
It has a bit of weight to it but not too much, although all my work was on a level surface, not sure how long you could hold it above your head (not sure why you’d need to but you never know!).
I only tried it out for review and I polished / sanded for about 15 minutes to get a feel for it – the battery light went down 1 but I have no idea how much charge was in it to start with.
Based on that, you’d probably get a good few hours of use out of this on a full charge.
I’ve looked up replacement pads for this and you can get them everywhere (6in / 15cm pads).
A great addition to any toolbox.
To glow and shine
It allows you to save a lot of time compared to hand-made polishing and if used correctly it gives better results.
The body and the handle system allow the tool to be used in different positions and handled with precision.
Light, it can be held in the hand without effort, even after a prolonged period of use.
I found it positive that it carries out the various polishing steps without overheating the surfaces.
