SMALLRIG D-TAP to LP-E6NH Dummy Battery, LP-E6NH Coiled
SMALLRIG D-TAP to LP-E6NH Dummy Battery, LP-E6NH Coiled Power Cable for Canon R5, R6, R7, R, R5C, 5D II/III/IV, 6D, 6D II, 7D, 7D II, 60D, 70D, 80D, 90D, XC10, XC15, 5DS, 5DSR Cameras – 4252

I use this with my R6, and have had no problems with compatibility or drops in power. My only complaint about the spaghetti cable is that I'd prefer to have a little more straight length on both ends, perhaps with fewer coils. I use this with one of the SmallRig cable clamps and the cable is gripped firmly and out of the way. If you are already a SmallRig V Mount battery owner, then this is simply a solid match!

A great power option from a trusted brand
I rarely use OEM batteries because I always fear running out in the middle of shooting, so I use AC power in my studio and this device gives you the same piece of mind in the field by plugging into a bigger external battery.
The “Dummy” battery fits perfectly in my cameras without needing to remove the battery door.
Most of all, I like it because it’s from SmallRig, a company I can trust.
SmallRig never fails.
What is described is exactly what you get, as usual with SmallRig. Great quality at good prices.
If not for SmallRig and companies like them, my family would have had less money to live on over the years. I am partly a videographer by trade and I have been able to keep costs down and increase quality with SmallRig’s approach to camera equipment. I have built camera rigs/cages that would have cost thousands of dollars for far less without sacrificing quality AT ALL (I thank you SmallRig and so does my family). This adapter is no exception to my story. It does exactly what it is supposed to.
Worked amazingly outside of a few times where the camera would state it needed to be charged. But 95% of the time, I was able to plug into my mount battery and power my canon r7 with no issues! The battery also has a cable routing system built in so that its easy to run the cable through the camera battery door.

Perfect little widget for using V-Mount batteries.
This is such a simple and useful little item for video production. Battery life in video mode of a DSLR is limited compared to shooting stills. When you mount your camera on a rig for shooting video, whether it’s a shoulder mount, a rail system, or a gimbal, it becomes very convenient to change out an E6 mid-shoot. You could use a dual-battery add on, but that changes the geometry of the camera.
A V-Mount, though, can be attached to the rig, and the coiled cable allows for an easy attachment, whether to a gimbal or rail system.
Very reasonable price for something that makes problems go away. Five stars. Works great on my 5DmkIII, and I’m going to purchase another for my 70D that basically lives 24/7 as a video rig.
Works as it should
As a full time filmmaker power options are extremely important.
I got this one from SmallRig a renowned camera accessories manufacture.
I have tons of SmallRig equipment and never had a problem.
Initially this one did not work for me but after contacting the customer support, they sent me an extra one and I ended up understanding that the product was not to blame, but the poor design of the Canon 7D I was using.
The battery door needs to be flush shut. I did not do the correct “lacing” of the cable and there was a little gap on the battery door. It so happens that there is a small switch on the battery door that if is not fully depressed, the camera won’t get power (I know stupid design of an old, old camera).
So if you work the power cable properly and the battery door is fully shut, it works fine.
I have not done any long time test to see if the unit get hot or anything like this, so this is my first impression of the adapter and as far as I can tell it works fine.
Valuable accessory allows extended shooting with V-mount batteries.
This dummy battery works great in my Canon EOS 5D Mark III and allows me to power the camera for much longer intervals with a V-mount battery mounted to my tripod. It also allows me to shoot in frigid weather and not worry that my Canon battery will give out.
Contrary to what other reviewers may have experienced, I have not had any overheating problems.
Also, please ignore the video review by Andy Costa where he claims he got a defective battery. He just forgot to close the battery door on his Canon camera which is required in order for the camera to power-on. Even with a regular battery inserted in a Canon, the camera won’t turn on until the battery door is closed. I hope he removes the video so that others won’t be misled into thinking that SmallRig is sending out defective products.
[UPDATE: I was able to find filmmaker Andy Costa’s website and send him a direct message to let him know of his erroneous review. He didn’t respond to my email but he did remove his video review of this item – confirming my suspicion his dummy battery WAS working fine in his camera, contrary to his conclusion in the video.]
Updated Review, Problem Corrected - Camera Loses Power and Results in Corrupted Files
I am updating my review because SmallRig reached out to me to correct the problem with my original order. I have tested the latest version and have not had any further issues. SmallRig customer support was very friendly, helpful, and generous.
I am changing my rating to 4 stars. It seems like the product is solid, but I have to be honest about a bit of uncertainty that I still feel about my initial experience. I will update again if anything else arises.
Original Review: 1 Star
Do not trust this Power Cable to provide consistent power to the camera. I had this cable fail during a shoot and it was really frustrating. The unexpected loss of power resulted in a corrupted video file for an important shot. I was using a Canon R5c and SmallRig V Mount Battery VB99.
BATTERIA FINTA LP-E6N / D-TAP
Rapporto qualit prezzo ottimo.
