Great for different purposes
I have to admit, I don’t have any product which accepts the battery using the NP mount. But I intend to at some point. Until then, I use this battery almost daily to DC charge various electrical products from my mobile phone, head torch, wireless lights, and I actually use it most as an external power to my Rode Mic for higher bit rate recording. It’s nice and hefty, and I can clamp it directly to my tripod. I love the battery indicator lights and button. I didn’t think I could honestly rate the value of the product. It is expensive, and for my purposes, a similar capacity external battery would do the same thing. You’re obviously paying for the NP ‘mountability’.
Completely recognised by camera
The battery charged ok and instantly recognised by the camera. I would say it lasts as long as the original Canon battery but costs significantly less. Very happy with it as a second battery.
So good
I have a couple of these and I much prefer them to the one that came with my GFX100ll. They seem to last a bit longer and not needing a charger is great.
Bang for buck
Works perfectly on my Sony a7iii
I wouldn’t use it as the main battery but as a backup. Because this is a third party, you never know what might happen.
Imagine a World...
Where a product is as it is described… That’s the Smallrig world. Great deal on a good battery.
BE AWARE: That on the 2.0 and up firmware versions for the A7IV and A7RV, you WILL get the battery warning and you WILL lose the numerical charge indication. Everything will still work though.
Similar performance as Sony OEM so fa
Haven’t ran this through enough charge cycles yet to definitively say this performs just as good as Sony OEM batteries yet but so far so good.
Will update this review if anything is wrong in the future.
I thought to give these a try as an alternative to buying the expensive OEM batteries. They have worked great so far and I did not think I was use the USB C charging port but it really comes in handy while traveling are wanting to charge multiple batteries since USB C charging cables are more common to have around. There were times I forgot to bring my Sony battery charger on a shoot but need a charge and that USB C charging port saved me. Definitely a game changer and as long as these last months I don't see a reason to buy OEM. They seem to last just as long and a Sony battery, and not error messages on my Sony A9 camera.

These fit as well as the OEM battery - no having to tap or pry them out - but more than anything, the ability to plug a USB-C cable right into the end of the battery to charge them is a killer feature. When travelling, I don't need to bring a separate charger, and when on the go I can charge one battery with a mobile battery pack, while I use the other. These relieve my battery anxiety, and are a high quality upgrade from the OEM.

Excelle
Got these as well as well as a 3 battery charger. I go to Iceland on a photographic trip soon and got to of these as back up should the charger pack in. These can be charged without and also in the field off a power bank. Excellent product. Small rig make good stuff
Excellent Produc
At first, I was a bit skeptical about purchasing these batteries, but they are excellent. Not only does it have more capacity than the alternative, it’s also cheaper.
When it comes to charging, it’s just convenient to use a USB-C cable instead of a specialized charger, especially if you’re traveling! But it also allows you to charge on your regular charging station.
So far, it’s been a win-win purchase for me.
I have 3 Sony cameras that all uses the FZ100 battery. I only used sony orginal batteries, but they are getting expensive. But this one caught my eyes, with the built in USB-C port. Since smallrig is a reputable brand, I decide to give it a try. The battery is very stable, and works great with all my Sony cameras, no warning, and no errors at all. It can last almost all day for my casual shooting. The USB-C charging is amazing, now I don’t need to look for chargers, or carry extra chargers. I can just put it into any USB-C adaptors, which I have them every where, even in my Tesla. It gets fully charged in about 2 to 3 hours. So far I really like this new battery
Swift charging, long lasting
This battery rejuvenated my camera’s life. The USB-C charging proved expedient, and the indicators kept me informed throughout. No qualms about compatibility, it seamlessly fitted into my camera. Not to mention, the sturdy build promises durability.
Great versatile battery
This replacement battery is compatible with Sony cameras A7R IV, A7R III, A7 III, A7C, A6600, FX3, and ZV-E1-4265.
The SMALLRIG NP-FZ100 Camera Battery has the same measurements as the original battery and an impressive capacity of 2400mAh. It also has a USB type-C charging port with a light indicator, which makes it easier to charge your camera battery on the go as it provides multiple charging options.
Furthermore, it ensures compatibility with many Sony cameras, making it a terrific option if you own multiple Sony cameras and want to switch between them without having to buy different batteries.
Overall, this is a great all-around battery that can power compatible Sony cameras for extended video production and photography tasks. However, it is quite expensive at 40.41, still, your money will be well spent due to the battery’s long lifespan and dependability.
Good overall performance
So I bought the SMALLRIG NP-FZ100 2400mAh Battery for my Sony A1.
When comparing it to my 2 Sony OEM batteries I got the following result:
Camera set to 8K video until camera switched of due to low battery warning.
Charged in a Nitecore USN4 Pro NP-FZ100 dual slot USB Sony charger.
Start voltage for the OEM:s was 5.8-5-9v, for the Smallrig 6.3v (default should have been 6.0v)
Stops charging:
Oem:s 8.4v, 2374-2422mAh
Smallrig: 8.4v, 2441mAh
Charging with the integrated usb-c connection was ok with ~980mA
Having it only for 2 charging cycles I think it’s working will.
Hope it will work as long as my OEM:s
The review below says you dont get the green H+ shooting high speed mode on the canon R5.
I can confirm with a lens that supports high speed shooting like the RF 14-35 (not all canon lenses do support high speed shooting) most RF lenses do, you do get high speed shooting on the Canon R6 and R6MK2.
So the battery is a very good and much cheaper alternative to the expensive Canon one.
