    Big, Sharp, & Safe
    I love my Spedal!

About a week ago I received the 9″ Spedal for my Honda Accord.

We have 2 cars. Our newer car has CarPlay built into the vehicle. It’s so nice. And the bottom line for me is how much safer it is. (More on that in a minute).

So our older car, a Honda Accord, does not have ApplePlay connectivity. When my son started driving, I figured I would “upgrade” my car. Well guess what? It would cost a small fortune to replace my original interface with a newer honda system.

I was pretty bummed because it makes me nervous when my son drives the car and relies on his tiny phone for directions, that is hooked to a vent lol.

When I first found out about Spedal, I was so relieved. I ordered it immediately.

Flash forward to now, myself and my son have been using the car with this installed. We love it! It is actually easier to see than our factory Honda system in our other car.

It was really easy to install. Quite intuitive to learn, and works perfectly. The screen is sharp and big.

I love the discounted price on this item. Highly recommended.installed the Apple Carplay unit into my vehicle, and I’m very pleased with the results.

    Highly recommended!

    Great Upgrade for any vehicle
I recently upgraded my car’s infotainment system with the NaviCam 787, and I have to say, it has completely transformed my driving experience! This 9-inch wireless Apple CarPlay unit offers a host of features that not only make my drives safer but also more enjoyable.

The wireless Apple CarPlay is an absolute game-changer. I no longer need to fiddle with cables or pairing settings; I simply get into my car, and my iPhone seamlessly connects to the system. It’s not only convenient but also ensures I can focus on the road while using Siri’s voice commands and the car’s touchscreen display.

For Android users, the wireless/wired Android Auto is a fantastic addition. I can access navigation, messages, calls, music, email, and notifications wirelessly, provided I’m running Android 11 or above. It’s a breeze to operate through the touchscreen or voice commands.

The included 2K adjustable front camera is a versatile addition. Not only does it enhance safety with its HDR function, but it can also rotate 360, making it useful as a baby camera or a driving recorder. I love using it to keep an eye on the kids in the backseat while I focus on the road.

Another feature I appreciate is the wireless Airplay. I can connect my iPhone to the device’s Wi-Fi network and project movies onto the 9-inch screen. It’s a real hit with the kids in the backseat, making long trips much more enjoyable for them.

The NaviCam 787 also provides flexibility in audio output with options like Bluetooth, AUX, FM transmitter, and built-in speakers. The sound quality is top-notch, and I can easily switch between these options based on my preferences.

The 9-inch touch screen with live navigation is a refreshing upgrade, giving my car a modern and sleek look. The Full HD IPS display ensures a pleasurable viewing experience both inside and outside the vehicle.

What’s great about the NaviCam 787 is its compatibility with a wide range of vehicle models, from cars to RVs, SUVs, pickups, and more. The easy installation with the suction lock and adhesive-coated suction cup makes it a breeze to set up on the dashboard or windshield.

Overall, the NaviCam 787 has breathed new life into my car’s entertainment system. It offers a seamless and safe way to connect my smartphone, enhances safety with its front camera, and keeps everyone entertained with wireless Airplay. I highly recommend this unit to anyone looking to upgrade their car’s infotainment system. It’s a fantastic investment that truly enhances the driving experience.

    Game Changing Car Connectivity
I recently installed the Apple Carplay unit into my vehicle, and I’m very pleased with the results.

Firstly, setting up the unit was very straightforward, I personally did not even need to use the instructions. The mounting for this system is also very strong. I dismounted and remounted it several times to test the strength of the suction and it worked very well each time.

Connecting your iPhone does not take long and all and the connectivity is very quick and seamless. Right when I get into the car the screen turns on and the carplay is connected. Arguably I’d say it’s faster than the cars that come with Carplay.

The length is also very ideal for my setup. I was concerned that it would block the other screen that I use for the radio and backup camera, but I was able to put it nicely elsewhere that does not block anything.

It comes with 2 mounts which I find to be very nice to include and also you are able to connect audio from the unit to your car with a simple AUX cord that most older cars should have, at least mine does.

    Clear, bright display
This navigation is the perfect upgrade for my car because it can do the android auto which then I can use google map for my route guidance. The display is very bright and clear, and the touch screen response seems fast and smooth. The mount piece works well in my car and grips strongly against the dash window. The connectivity has been super easy (literally plug and go) and therefore I didn’t need to read the instruction manual to operate this.

So far I have no complaints of this item and will probably be continue to be used in my car.

Very good addition when you have an older car that may not have CarPlay or any screen installed. Very easy to install as it just plugs into the cigarette lighter and works from there. Comes with a number of different application types to suit your car. CarPlay works really well and is very useful as well as the dash cam that came with this as it can be used as a rear cam for parking! Overall great product and very happy with this purchase

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat for the price
Got this today and was installed within minutes. I already had a usb wired to the front for my phone so it was just placing the screen somewhere. Screen is crystal clear and sound through bluetooth is great. Screen can be a bit laggy but in the grand scheme of things not an issue. I like the fact you can unclip screen from mount so its not on display in seconds.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersNew Apple Car Play for my motorhome
I bought this to replace a top of the range TomTom device, as I wanted to use Google Maps for navigation. It works perfectly along with my iphone and displays phone calls with sound from the vehicle speakers. Music can be streamed also from the device via the vehicle speakers. This device has brought my journeys up to 21st century standards with turn by turn instructions and clear maps.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersA great little uni
I’ve been looking for a relatively inexpensive way of adding wireless Carplay to our older car. The existing single DIN head unit isn’t positioned well for replacing with a Carplay enabled alternative and I was looking at circa 1,000 on an Alpine Freestyle which would then have needed installation and some element of fabrication for a housing for the screen or ripping out existing dials on the dashboard and carving up the fascia to make a space to install it. Then I found this on Amazon. I was sceptical that it would work as I wanted and be compatible with my existing setup without leaving cables trailing all over the inside of the car but thought it was worth a punt. And so far it’s more than exceeded my expectations.

The unit itself is compact and understated. I went with the 796W as based on one image I found, the connection ports are along the bottom rather than the side, which was my preferred approach. I say ports but for my needs it’s just the USB-C port for power that I’m using. The mount arm for the device I haven’t touched as the bracket plate that this connects to ends in a small ball socket which is identical to two other car vent mounts I’ve had from previous installations of my iPhone so I was able to use the previous vent mount clip with the bracket for the 796W and install that way.

Power is currently delivered through the cigarette lighter socket adaptor that came with the package but some testing tonight seems promising to power this using the 5v, 1a output that my current stereo has (this may well not work long term or not with the dashcam but so far I haven’t tried the dashcam). I need to do some more testing of this but hopefully on the weekend I can pull the shroud of the centre console out and use the existing USB connection from the stereo to power this with the cable then hidden under the shroud and nicely out of sight.

The display itself is bright and clear. I haven’t tried driving at night or in bright sunlight yet but average overcast Saturday in May daytime driving was fine with good visibility at all times and the Carplay connection was stable. The screen was responsive when touched and the only issues I had with starting navigation were due to poor reception on my phone and nothing to do with this unit. In fact once I’d given up on waiting for the phone and started driving, when I would see a better signal I was then able through this unit to restart the navigation, select the preferred route and the navigation picked up from there.

For audio I’m using bluetooth and generally this works well. The only issue I’m having is if I stop playing music or a podcast, I then seem to lose the audio from Apple Maps navigation. I think this is an issue with my stereo rather than this unit, though, and further fiddling is required to understand what’s going on there.

Startup time is pretty good. After initial setup was complete it now takes a few seconds from power getting to the unit for the screen to power up and then it’s pretty quick to auto-detect the phone and switch through from the menu of the device to the setup screen for bluetooth to the wireless Carplay feed, all without any input required from me. As the power source I’m using only runs to this and the stereo when the ignition is on this means I can get in, start the car and within 5-10 seconds (I haven’t actually timed it) I’m connected and ready to go. Aesthetically it would look nicer if you didn’t see the setup screen for bluetooth in the connection sequence once you’ve paired everything but it’s only there briefly.

At just over 300g I do have a worry that if I hit a large bump or pothole the whole unit could jump with enough force to snap my air vent vane. But that’s very much on me if it happens. So far it’s been heavy enough that it hasn’t really moved with the usual bumps of driving around the UK and seems nicely stable.

So overall, I’m really pleased with this. It’s a nice, neat and relatively cheap way of adding Carplay to an older car. That I can power it from the current stereo’s USB port is a huge bonus for simplifying the install and allowing me to hide the cable. And that I can route the phone audio via the stereo’s bluetooth connection means I get to use my steering wheel controls as well as the Carplay display and make full use of the car’s speakers.
