    Favourite bath toy
Our baby does not really enjoy baths, however she is really keen on kicking this little fellow about when in her sitting bath and attempting to grab him. He serves as a nice monitor for temperature and a great distraction for her from the dreaded cleanliness. Highly recommend!

    Fast and Easy to Use
This has been a great buy, it is very easy to use and keeps me from worrying that I have the temp wrong in my baby’s bath. To turn it on you just tap it on your hand then plop it in the water, that’s it!

    Perfect gift for newbo
I did not even think to purchase one of these and had to purchase after my son was born.
Couldn’t figure out how to work it at first until I dropped the duck and realised it needed tapping underneath to activate. I just assumed it needed a battery lol.

Starts alarming if the water is too hot also so perfect safety feature just what you need with a newbo

    Best bathing toy
Can not fault it, for the cost, automatically kicks in, and the refresh rate is very quick and blinks red when the temperature is above 39*. Comes with a battery and nice professional packaging.

    Love this
Initially used this to test the water temperature for me when I was pregnant.

Now baby is here I used it to test the temperature for them.

It can also be used as a room thermostat too.

We use this for our bath and it works great. The flashing message that says hot/cold is really useful. Only thing is that we have to bang it on something to get it to turn on (maybe I’m missing something!!)

    Good but faulty
The duck shows the temperature and has a flashing red light when it reaches 38+. At times, the temperature does not show even when the shower head is running directly over it, so you have to guess the temperature. Overall, not too bad.

Good value and does the job
I’m particular about my bath temperature (40’C) and this was a replacement for my old thermometer that expired. The unit deems 40’C to be too hot so the display flashes between “40’C” and a “Hot” warning. A very tiny problem is it alternates a little too quickly, barely giving you enough time to read the digits “40’C”. Not a major problem though! Very pleased.

Golden Review Award: 147 From Our UsersQuack Quack! Its a thermometer duck :-)
Ok, so it’s a duck with a thermometer on its back. What can be said about this bathtime friend that hasn’t already been said? Well, let me start by saying that this is the second one that I’ve bought and the first one was so good I’ve bought it again! The only reason for buying another one is that duck#1 had started to look a bit tired having been used regularly for over two years. I’ve got to be honest and say that I can’t remember if I ever changed the battery in that one but if I did it wouldn’t have been any more than once. I can therefore confirm that this product is built to last and I’m also happy to report that it works exceptionally well.

Some other reviewers have reported that they’ve had issues with the duck listing (tipping over) or that the readout doesn’t always work or is inaccurate. I can only speak from personal experience and say that this hasn’t happened to either of my ducks. Admittedly, I had to encourage the display to come on by rubbing the sensors a couple of times with duck#1 but I suspect that was more as a result of limescale build up than anything being faulty with the product.

My son loves this duck and lines it up alongside his magnetic ones like a surrogate non magnetic sibling. I can therefore also vouch for its robustness as the magnetic ducks usually end up ‘flying’ out of the bath onto the floor.

In summary, this duck is built to last and it’s very accurate. The only reason that it loses a star is that the battery compartment, as another reviewer has observed, is a complete PITA to open! I’m sure there were justifiable safety reasons for designing it this way but it’s difficult to open.

At this price it’s replaceable though and if this one lasts for another 2 years I’ll be very happy.
