A good title given to me as a gift, of a film I tend to appreciate more as I get older.
A piece about the (to a degree) love triangle between two teenage boys and one girl, in the middle of a dying 1950’s Texas town, as their peers and their elders exist and fade away like the town itself.
Brilliantly acted and beautifully made it’s still an impressive piece of cinema.
The extras package is not bad (although it tends to suffer a little from some repetition of the same bits and pieces of detail). Two commentaries (although both are quite old. The cast and crew dates back to 1991 and the solo Bogdanovich one dates to 2009).
There’s also some archive documentaries (including one from the production of the 1990 sequel ‘Texasville’), which are very interesting. And some other bits and bobs. A good package. Even without the inclusion of ‘Texasville’ itself like the other edition.
