TopScan - A Top device
A robust, well designed device.
Arrived very well packaged.
Very easy to set up and connect to car and iPhone by following the included quick start guide.
Will post a further review after the device has been used for a while.
Thanks.
Excellent Reliable Device
I got this for my Toyota Estima Hybrid. It is the only one that was able to access all functions on the car. I have found it an excellent tool and would recommend it highly.
Good little tool, solves a lot of worry’s
Excellent little bit of kit, I was worried that one of my injectors wasn’t working correctly. This little device allowed me to see live date. Found out injectors was fine but 2 off glow plugs wasn’t working. The app is really easy to use and it works on just about all model of vehicles.
Nice indepth scanner, dealer quality.
Great scanner you have to download tge makes you need, once you have done this it’s great way more indepth than you average scannering tool. If you looking for dealer settings and diagnostics this is the tool for you. Had to contact tech help on on vehicle as it didn’t pick it up but this was quickly resolved by tech support who were a great help. Will look to buy there other products
Portable pocket Dignostics Bluetooth
Nice compact portable Diagnostic tool . Bluetooth so easily connects to your own phone, laptop or tablet.
Just download the app and plug the small unit into the diagnostic port.
I have the larger professional tool but wanted something I could take out with me for breakdowns or even my own Campervan whilst having the weekends travelling away.
So easy to use at a great price, still a brand that not everyone recognises but over the last 2 years I’ve had excellent professional service from the manufacturers.
Highly recommended as a pocket go to tool.
Does what it claims
I bought this to assist in troubleshooting an overheating issue on a 2007, as that car does not have a temperature gauge. Not the most user friendly interface as the OBD2 data is accessed via the DTR fault code menu. Would help if this was shown in the product eaflet. Reporting on and erasing error codes was intuitive however.
Very easy to use
Great bit of kit. Showed me a fault that i didn’t know existed (due to EML not being on) i can now look into this fault thanks to this topscan equipment. Easy to use with lots of functions available through the app.
Toppdon car scanne
This is a great product for topdon reset all warning lights and great to keep in car. I’m sure almost every make of car is programmed in to this little scann I love i
Awesome bit of ki
Used this on my Audi as it kept going into limp mode
Bought this as would be small enough to keep in car In case of any future issues.
once it was all up to date it was easy to use
Found fault code managed to find the broken wire to turbo solenoid
Fixed issue cleared codes and cars now running as it should
Much cheaper than going to Audi
Amazing bit of ki
I can honestly say this an amazing bit of kit, plug and play once you have down loaded the app, I tried it on both my cars, you will have to create an account to be able to use the device but once you have logged in, connect it to your car and away you go, very easy to use and set up.
Easy to use
I have used this twice now on two different cars one to turn service light out on mini 2013 and once on a Vauxhall for a forced re gen really easy to use great little machine
Great little scanner.
5 out of 5 stars
Bought this for its portable rather than firing laptop up with VCDS. Arrived really promptly. Box has QR code for the app download ensuring you get the correct one. Connection simple (I did forget to pair Bluetooth on first attempt ). Many manufacturers covered and you only need to download the one required and others later. Simple to use and navigate around the app. Great little device
Very good - Requires patience.
I’ve had this for a couple months now. Overall, for the money, extremely well impressed with it!
It has some little quirks and nuances, sometimes when using the base functions like electronic parking brake, it’ll give an error, but if you go into the ABS/ESP module and clear any outstanding faults, it will then usually work. Sometimes just restarting the software on your phone again also helps.
The device is very, very slow to use, and this is on a flagship Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, so it’s unlikely the phone holding it back. The full system scans usually take about 5-7 minutes to complete. HOWEVER, this is a very, very cheap way into a full system scanning device, and is actually impressive when considered fully like that.
The device is fairly easy to use, but experience with scan tools is ideal as all different scan tools have different personalities, this one is just awkward sometimes when running through multiple systems. The live-data readouts are also a little bit of an annoyance as you can’t specifically select what you want, you have to select something you’re trying to check (Smooth running operation of the fuel injectors for example, even though you only want to see the high pressure fuel rail pressure.)
It’s VERY durable. Very. It’s metal and plastic, and the metal itself is also the heatsink for the circuitry inside, so if it feels warm to the touch after use, don’t be alarmed as that’s totally normal. When holding it, it feels remarkably solid, and has a nice weight to it, so it’s obviously crammed with quite lot inside – that or it’s got a lead weight in it. Regardless, I was very impressed with the fit and finish. As for the application itself, it is slow. But, it seems to at least competently do it’s function and I’ve never gone through a process and had it crash mid-way through.
Overall, I’ve been very impressed. I can’t bring myself to give it the full 5 stars as it is painfully slow, the live data information is clunky and awkward to get access to and the application’s “diagnostic” page can sometimes freeze for 10-20 seconds randomly, which doesn’t matter for 95% of people, but when I’m trying to work through a job, it’s quite important that I can quickly work through multiple vehicle systems. Overall, a solid 4.5/5 from me, which I was insanely surprised about as I expected to give it a 2/5 before I got hands on with it.
Brillia
The best OBD I have ever used just download the manufacturer for the car your using and it bring up a huge detailed report. Best one I have ever used beside the manufacturer own OBD. Well worth the price, it is definitely a must buy.
Top scanner for professional garages and excellent customer support.
Perfect product for the money. It does coding amd resetting and lot of details more than any garage or personal use will need. Honestly top diagnostic tool for the price and amount of things that tool can do. I’m really impressed.
Very easy to use
Extremely impressed with this. Amazon sent the wrong item, which I sent back, and re-ordered this model, and with the mobile phone app that you download, it makes everything easy to use. No looking up codes, either, as possible solutions are presented to you on screen, once you have downloaded your car model.
This was bought to keep in my BMW so that I can monitor certain functions such as DPF etc. Also I wanted to do a full scan of all ECU’s in the vehicle for errors. A nice quality unit, very easy to setup just scan the unit with the TOPDON app and then choose the manufacturer to download certain packages for you car. There are many available to the point where it would cover any car you have!
This is my third TOPDON device as previous ones have been very good (battery charger, battery tester).
Excellent product.
As a professional vehicle technician I already own several scanners, Snap-on, icarsoft, vcds, topdon and forscan.
I bought this for quick code reads only and maybe viewing some live data parameters and I must say it’s worked very well.
It’s quick and easy to use and the live data is searchable which is handy.
Service resets have worked on the few cars I’ve tried it on.
Don’t think much on the tsb’s, they appear old and mainly for the US market.
I genuinely think this tool is has a place in everyone’s toolbox and is easily affordable enough for apprentices to be able to start learning how to use a scantool.
