    Works a treat.

After being told by a professional we didn’t have a gas leak, twice!
Purchased one of these and pick it up straight away.
    Phoned National Grid straight away!
    A life saver LITERALLY.

Works as described. I needed to check for leaks at a boiler and cooker flexible connection.
Checked correct operation at hob and it detected gas at a distance.
    Well worth having available.

I tested on a bunch of different gas sources and it can find small flows very close (like a leaky valve), and large flows far away (like a gas hob on at 1m away).

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWe had noticed an occasional odd smell (but not seeming like gas) in a spare bedroom for years.. could never pinpoint this, & didn’t think gas as the room is not near supply. Decided to just double check. Turns out to be a serious gas leak into the wall cavity which was probably there since house built (30 yrs)!!! Gas expert said house was at serious risk of explosion!! So relieved we bought this.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought this to replace an expensive gas sniffer. I am a gas engineer and use a gas sniffer for additional testing when tightness testing with a meter.
I detected a small pressure drop on some pipework and used this for the first time to try and pinpoint the leak.
It performs a quick self check and calibration on first switch on and then can be used. There are 2 levels of sensitivity. It found the very small leak very precisely on the most sensitive settings. There are bars on the display as well as an audible tone on detection of gas.
Very happy with this product and recommend for anyone wanting to verify if there is gas.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our Users…the alternative being a spark, followed by a mini-mushroom cloud! This at least was my motivation for the purchase, after connecting up a full butane tank to my caravan, only to discover 2 days later that a leak somewhere had seen it depleted in its entirety.

This little gas-leak detector in hand, coupled with a new full canister of gas, within 10 secs, I had zeroed in on the leak’s location. It’s very sensitive on the default setting, maybe too sensitive with a bad gas-leak, so the inclusion of a less-sensitive setting is very welcome.

My leak was fridge-related. One impromptu repair later, and with fingers-crossed, this little unit testified to the competency of the work undertaken.

In case its of interest, I’ll conclude by relating that power-used wise, this is a little piggy, pulling about 150mA from the batteries. That said, most of these gas sensors seem to require a fair bit of power to operate – or at least the gas-leak alarm on my boat is the same.

Overall, well worth the asking price. Recommended.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI could smell gas intermittently in my house, others in the house couldn’t smell it and I thought I was imagining it.

I bought this product as the smell was getting on my nerves and it came the same day.

I put the batteries in, followed the instructions and tested with my hob and the product worked. I then decided to check the problem area, my gas meter cupboard. Put the device in the cupboard and it bleeped and went red.

Called the gas supplier, they sent Cadent straight round and they then confirmed the gas leak, new meter fitted as the seals had gone.

So happy with this product and have complete piece of mind now, we also camp a lot so handy to check gas canisters too.
    Very happy with the product.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI have been smelling a faint smell of gas near my boiler for several months, I have of course called emergency services as soon as I could smell it the first time, but the engineer has checked everything thoroughly and reassured me there most definitely was no gas leak and boiler was safe to use. Since then I smelled it again and decided to get the detector myself. Guess what, as soon as I could smell gas again, the detector proved I was right all along! Did not pick it up in room air generally but at one spot right by the boiler it went full bars, flashing red and sounding the beeps. I would never be without one now, especially given that the gas leak can even be missed by a gas engineer, if it is intermittent or takes time to build up – as it transpired in my case. If you think you might be smelling gas, just get it!
