Westland Houseplant Potting Compost Mix and Enriched
Westland Houseplant Potting Compost Mix and Enriched with Seramis, 8 L

Why Use?
- Contains unique Seramis granules for optimum water and nutrient availability.
- Added perlite for airflow, drainage & healthier root development.
- This open, free draining mix promotes stronger growth & greener leaves.
When to pot / re pot?
Indoor plants will eventually require re potting as they become pot bound. This is when roots appear through the drainage holes in the pot.
How to pot up / re pot?
1. First water the plant well and allow it to drain.
2. Choose a pot larger than the old one ensuring it has adequate drainage holes. Place a layer of potting mix in the bottom of the new pot.
3. Remove plant from its current pot. Turn the plant sideways and gently hold by the stems or leaves. Tap the bottom of the pot until the plant slides out.
4. Remove old potting mix from the plant’s roots. Place the plant into the new pot ensuring the root ball is slightly below the rim of the new pot. Fill the pot with potting mix and water well.
Handy Tips
Westland Houseplant Potting Mix contains sufficient nutrients to feed plants for approx. 6 weeks. After this period, feed with Westland Houseplant Feed every second watering in the active growing season (spring/summer), and every fourth watering in the winter.

Outstanding service
I ordered this yesterday afternoon 10/04/2024, prime delivery.
Couldn’t believe it when the postman was delivering it at 0830 this morning 11/04. That is exceptional service. Have used this before for repotting my orchids, always good results.
Love this produc
My aloe loves it xx within a short time I saw improvements on my aloe x I ordered again for my other flowers and will be ordering in future xx
I recommend this product x
cheaper in asda
i found the same potting mix for half the price in asda the next day which is sad. neded to repot 1 plant, it’s still alive after a week which is good
I bought the out the Westland Bonsai Potting Compost Mix for my bonsai, and I really like it. The Seramis granules in this mix are help control how much water my bonsai gets, so I don’t have to worry about overwatering and messing up the roots. This mix is made specifically for bonsai plants. With the added wood fibre, it helps the roots. The bag contains 4-litres and was just the right size for my bonsai. Overall, I’m impressed with the potting mix.
Great plant mix, easy size but fungus knats..
Easy to use as a small bag but we now have an infestation of fungus knats.. I bought a few different brands at once so it may not have been this mix but a risk!
Texture
I like the texture of this potting mix. I used it for repotting a Flaming Katy house plant. I had a smooth experience. I don’t dislike anything about the product. Good quality product.
Great potting mix
This mix contains clay parts and bark, so gives a good texture and look. Brightens the pots up. I repotted my orchids (these plants are several years old) and they seem happy and healthy in this new mix. I really like the look of it and seems to be slightly more aerated than the traditional bark-only stuff I’ve used up to now.
Just the job for my Christmas cacti and indoor Begonia
Lovely consistency, I swear the begonia has perked up no end since I repotted it on the day the compost was delivered. As the 2 Christmas cacti are flowering I will wait until they’ve finished before potting them on.
Not as gritty as I’m used to but does the job!
Great soil however it’s not as gritty as the brand I usually use — we usually buy from Soil Ninja but the postage was too high for a single bag so we opted for this instead. I’m happy with it & my plants seem to be doing well too, but I might add in some extra sand etc.
Good but lots of twigs in i
This is a handy size for repotting a few cacti and succulents. My repotted plants are doing well in it. My only quibble, which I have with all Westland composts, is the amount of twigs in the mix.
It may be an odd thing to “complain” about, and in fact would be a bonus to most people, but this bag is TOO BIG! I bought it because I was given an orchid as a gift some time ago in a very small pot, it hasn’t flowered for absolutely ages and I’ve been considering dumping it, but it looks healthy with new leaf growth and so I thought I would re-pot it and see if it could regain its former glory. This potting mix states in the description it would fill a 14cm pot and I thought perfect, that’s just what I need – I’m not an orchid fan and don’t want any more. Well clearly the description is correct – it WILL fill a 14cm pot – but it will fill many more also. I think it should have said it will fill a 14 INCH pot. My gripe is that I’ve paid for a product that will mostly be thrown away and I hate to waste things – especially money. For orchid enthusiasts out there however, I imagine this potting mix will be a welcome bonus economically speaking and I recommend it on that basis 🙂
