Zemoeng 10L Metal Jerry Can Petrol Can with Flexible Spout

 

Being in the transport game, I have enough jerry cans lying around to fill a tanker.

This is my fourth 20l Jerry can but my first with a screw top and my first with a relief valve.

Overall build quality in my opinion is excellent, my only grumble is a slightly sharp edge at the front and side where the top section is welded to the body of the can – the quality control should really pick this up.

The screw lid, flexible pipe holder and relief valve are made of made of aluminium and when not in use the flexible pipe is inverted and kept inside the can, held in place by the cap. The main body is made of steel and is nicely painted/coated with aa very decent finish (notwithstanding the sharp edge).

To use the can the flexible hose is withdrawn from inside the can and reversed to screw into the inside of the mouth. The lid of the can has a screwdriver head embedded in it in order to open the pressure relief valve and allows air into the can. This means that instead of getting the ‘glug, glug, glug’ as you fill a tank it will just pour out a lot quicker than normal as air can get into the can to replace the liquid that is pouring out.

The supplied gloves…errmm..well they will stop some mild contact contamination but they aren’t waterproof so won’t protect form any spillages. I guess you can use them to carry it though.

I like this can better than my level lock cans, I think it is well engineered and I love the easy pour capability. With a little better quality control to deal with sharp edges I would rate this as excellent. The screw thread works well and the carry handle is comfortable.
Priced at the average price for 20l cans I feel that this screw thread lid one offers something a little different and the pressure relief valve is an excellent addition.
