Great for beginners!
An ideal action camera for beginners with its user friendly interface and ability to use your phone as a remote via the app its not the smoothest or sharpest on the market but at this price point its fantastic, especially for kids getting into water sports such as snorkeling, swimming, or even shallow diving, thanks to its capability to withstand depths of up to 40m
Recommended!
Surprisingly good.
For the price you just can’t go wrong. So long as pristine quality footage isn’t of the utmost importance to you then i imagine you’ll be happy with this too too. It’s a great little camera and the picture quality is very good for the price. I was surprised. I like it a lot.
Ideal solution for those that don't want to spend hundreds of pounds !
A perfectly acceptable camera for those new to vlogging and general video recording.
The unit comes with 2 batteries, a double charger, a remote control and various accessories. One of the accessories that looks like a surrounding frame is a bit of a confusing item as the camera almost slots into it perfectly and you do not seem to have any screw fittings that are the correct size for using either the top or bottom connection so I can only assume this is supposed to be used for some kind of tripod.
Its easy to pair with the App for remote control of the device itself however this is where I found one big bug that I could not overcome and this is if when using the App you change the scene type from normal to slo-mo etc and then disconnect the camera from the App you are not able to change the setting back to normal with the camera controls alone and it has to be reconnected via the App for you to change this back.
One thing I did find a bit strange is that the camera has no on-board memory and cannot be used without an SD card when a cheap Chinese camera I used from 10 years ago had on-board storage and could accept up to a 128 GB card, so this is a bit of a disappointment and also I would have liked to have put higher than 128GB into this camera but alas it does not support any larger storage than this which is a shame, considering it can record at 5k.
Other than those oversights it is a great little waterproof camera that will give people many hours of enjoyment and use.
Hope this helps …..
Not bad, convenient and good picture and build quality
Action Camera, 20MP from the Surfola Store
My first impression about this action camera is that it is not bad, more on a good picture and build quality. The resolution and image stabilisation is of acceptable level as the image is still fine even though a shaky terrain. The frame rate of 60fps makes it suitable when going fast, as the video quality is not that blurred. I haven’t really immersed it in water, but I’ve been using this camera to document when I’m cycling, so I’m happy to say that it is shockproof, water-resistant, and dustproof, as it can withstand rough handling and most outdoor conditions. It’s convenient as it is Wi-Fi enabled and has a remote control that allows me to control it remotely. Overall, the quality is better than I expected. Recommendable.
Low cost action cam with some flaws.
Action cams are all the rage. They are great for capturing moments and placeswhen you wouldn’t want to take a regular camera. This little action cam boasts a wealth of features and can record upto 5k!
In the box you get the camera, two batteries, a twin charging dock, a waterproof shell, a mic, a remote, various brackets for attaching the camera and a user guide. The camera feels reasonably well made and the hard clear shell feels durable. Setting the camera up isn’t too difficult as the rear screen is touchscreen. I tried the camera in 1080p, 2.7k, 4k and 5k modes. I had mixed results. While the quality was reasonable I didn’t feel it captured as much detail as it should at the respective resolutions. I found that 2.7k at 60fps the best compromise for quality. As the higher framerate made for smoother motion. There is electronic stabilisation in EIS available. This works well for the most part but when enblabled in low light situations I found some strange and unusual hue changes to the video. In good lighting conditions this isn’t an issue.
It’s not going to match the well known brands but at the fraction of the price it isn’t far behind for an action cam. There are some minor issue with colour rendition, particularly while EIS is enabled, and it should record more detail in the respective modes. However the overall output is more than satisfactory and it makes a good introduction to action cams.
Good produc
I’m thoroughly impressed with my recent purchase of the Surfola SF430 Action Camera. Its standout feature is the crystal-clear 5K 30fps video, capturing stunning details in all lighting conditions. The camera is user-friendly, robust, and ideal for any adventure, especially with its excellent waterproof design. The long-lasting battery is a big plus for extended outdoor activities. Overall, the SF430 offers superb quality and performance, making it a top recommendation for anyone seeking a high-resolution action camera.
Good value for the money - short compare with SF530
I made another video before, but Amazon said it was false, maybe because of the people in it. So here’s a new one and a second try to review my brandnew SURFOLA SF430PRO.
I’m using a Surfola SF530 already to make impressive Videos of my family, trips into nature or just for fun. Mostly at daytime, the footage ist okay, but not stunning. So I ordered this new model of Surfola, the SF430pro with better and higher resolution and some nice features. After several videos and pictures I’ve made the past days, I can say that the image quality indeed is likely better than before. The stills I made at Alster Lake in Hamburg (my Hometown) look much better now, also the video footage is really good for that low priced AcionCam. The housing of the SF430pro is more stable than those from the SF530 and now it has USB-C port.
At my testings for this review but also for myself, I used the SF530 side-by-side at the same time simultaneously with the new SF430pro, so I’m able to compare very grounded. Every single image I took is better with the SF430pro, more stable and better in focus. I’m very happy with my new ActionCam and will give my SF530 to my wife now.
The only point that I don’t like is the new cover on the Card-Slot and USB-port, which is really garbage. Please, Surfola, redesign this flappy coverage!
My conclusion is: Order the Surfola SF430pro and have fun!
Versatile shooting modes
This action camera served my snorkelling experience well. The underwater shots were sharp and the camera handled the water pressure effortlessly. Being able to transfer the videos to my mobile without wires made sharing moments instantaneous. The varied recording modes catered to different shooting scenarios I found myself in. The remote control was a handy feature, especially when the camera was mounted at a distance.
value for money, great 1st action camera
I highly recommended this for someone’s first action camera. it is excellently priced at 49.99, even without the multitude of accessories. the software has a feature that I didn’t see advertised: motion sensing, meaning that it will record whenever it detects movement within the frame, after it has finished filming, it will resume checking for motion again, meaning that you can use this camera as a simple trailcam for wildlife (or, more suitably, your indoor pets).
SF430 Action Camera - Amazing
A great addition to my collection of Surfola Cameras, 5K30fps 24mp. I look forward to putting it through its paces on the range and during my adventures. I have taken a couple of pictures and a short video using the SF430 – I will add more pictures and a full review later.
Decent Ki
Surprisingly decent quality. Easy to set-up and use. Comes with useful accessories to be able to use in every scenario, indoor or outdoor and mount it easily. SupCam Pro app is easy to navigate and use and connects to the unit fast and steady. All you need is a MicroSD to get it work straight away. It comes with 2 batteries so it’s easy swap around. I think this is quite a good kit for the price. The picture quality is decent. Doesnt look nice if playback is made on the unit but once you download it to your device, it’s actually decent. Looking forward to use this more when we are away again for water adventures.
Not that bad
For what it is at the current price point, it is what you’d expect, the video quality is fairly good and passable, best used in the daytime as when in dimly lit rooms the quality can be a little grainy.
It is professionally packaged and packed, with a ton of accessories and a whole bucket load of mounts for your camera, as well as two batteries, a battery charge station, and a USB cable to charge the camera and batteries, you even receive a wired microphone.
All this can be a little overwhelming at first but the instruction manual will clear things up.
In conclusion, a pretty decent action camera on a budget, with no issue recording videos, slow motion, taking pictures, and somewhat recording in 4k.
For a first camera, I would recommend it, it’s very easy to operate and use.
I don't understand how this is so cheap?
I’m not really an expert on these sort of ‘action’ cameras but on using this I can’t help but feel you get a lot for your money here.
In the box you get the camera in a case, two batteries with charger, remote and loads of different accessories depending on your use.
In use it’s really simple to set up just put in your SD card and you can basically start recording. Just touch the top button and away you go.
The lens and sensor aren’t the best quality in the world but I got really good results. I usually record my Olympic lifts (not to share but for form) on my phone and getting this is actually miles better. I set it to 1080p 60fps for smoother motion but to be fair the 4k 30 doesn’t look too bad at all. Setting the recording with the remote is brilliant.
When out of the case it has a touch screen and it works really well, swiping left to right etc…
I’ve not connected it to WiFi yet as I’m still getting used to this but I’ve bought a shorty tripod to use with it. I’m really, really impressed by this for the money.
Shockingly good
I am in shock at how good this camera is for the price. The image quality is really good. The touchscreen on the camera is nice and accurate. The microphone quality on the camera is definitely acceptable. I have attached some photos of the camera/accessories and also a short video where you can see the quality.
It was very easy to set up and link up to the app. It comes with plenty of accessories for mounting on a bike, helmet, etc. It also comes with a remote button to start/stop the camera recording, which I didn’t expect at this price point. Very handy! I have purchased a chest strap separately, which fits with the camera case perfectly as it has a standardized mounting system.
Good value
I am very impressed with this action camera. The product contains two batteries that can be easily charged with the external adapter and cable. The setup was relatively straightforward and linked with my phone well. The touchscreen is very useful for not only setting the camera up, but also for changing the camera modes. The screen is also sufficient quality to check what the camera is recording. The added physical buttons are also reliable.
The overall camera seems well built and fit comfortably in a case. It came with various attachments which are to be used on helmets and similar equipment. It’s capable of working with micro SD cards up to 128GB. Recording at 4K 30hz seemed to be fairly good and worked well though I found the best setting to be 1080p 60hz.
My only fault is that the camera got fairly warm during use but not hot so I’m not worried about it overheating and breaking down.
Excellent camera for underwate
What can i say this is a very good camera for the size of it. It comes with a load of accessories as well which is great as i had to purchase more accessories with my last camera.
The camera itself is easy to use it has 4K video and 24mp camera which is great for any shot. It also comes with 2 rechargeable batteries so no need to worry about running out of battery life. Not only that but this is great for depths of 40metres so can seriously take it scuba diving with you as well.
I would definately recommend this its a great camera for the money.
