I have this with NUC 13 i7, Crucial T500 SSD and HyperX 64 RAm + Thermal Grizzly graphene pad.

At first I was still having 100c and throttling and I started thinking that the case is complete rubbish, but then I decided to give it last chance, opened it up and saw a giant grey goo of thermal paste, which service center left after they replaced my NVMe port. So I applied the graphene pad and now it runs 24/7 never hitting above 65c at 30c environment temperature, and even in synthetic tests it still keeps below 70. I’ve adjusted wattage to 35/40 in BIOS, but didn’t notice any difference in performance at all.

Now it’s an ultimate, silent machine, I’m amazed and in love. Thanks, Akasa, and thanks Intel for last one good ride with NUCs!

Initially was a bit sceptical and annoyed that this was way overpriced for just a cooling case, paying another premium after spending 500 for an Intel NUC (NUC12WSHi5). But after suffering from high temperatures for nearly a year, constantly hitting 97-100 Degrees, I felt lost and thought I made a mistake in buying an Intel NUC. Tried out various DIY projects to keep this thing cool, but none really helped until I gave this case a chance. Installation didn’t take long and all ports are well aligned. I would highly advise mounting the side edges/panels as the corners without it are very sharp and you don’t want to drop that case on your foot.
Booted up Proxmox and all the VMs, and to my surprise, when I checked the temperature sensors, it was around 32-41 Degrees. I ran some additional tests with transcoding and other CPU-intensive tasks and the temperature was around 65 Degrees max. The case was warm to the touch, but I hooked up a dual 120mm USB Fan (lowest speed mode) on top of the case and the temp went further down to 51 Degrees. NVMe was around 41-43 Degrees. I let it run for a week and constantly checked the temperatures and it was stable within those degrees and never went above 61 Degrees when doing multiple Plex streams and Tdarr transcoding. Absolutely amazed with the results and never expected temperatures that low under load. To add, I used Arctic MX-6 Thermal Paste and maximum performance set in the BIOS. I know the price of this case will turn many off, but in my opinion, this case is worth every penny and I would highly recommend this for anyone using an Intel NUC as a small server running various VMs including 50+ Docker Containers. Well Done Akasa!

Very easy to assemble and very high quality. If you want a fan-less case this is a great choice.
The Wi-Fi antennas, antenna wiring and connectors are not included so if you want to run wireless you will need to purchase an antenna kit.

    Gute Verarbeitung.
    Gute Optik.

This is a very high quality fanless case for a NUC 12/13 Pro. Top marks to Akasa for also including a high quality metal heatsink casing for the NVME drive – nice touch.

It was very easy to install the NUC motherboard into this case – in fact, it took longer to extract the motherboard from the NUC than it did to install the motherboard into this case. More credit to Akasa for providing YouTube videos showing how to extract the motherboard from the NUC and install it into this case.

The case can be set-up to be either vertical standing or horizontal standing – another nice touch.

The case gets slightly warm to the touch and sensors indicate that the CPU temperature runs around 36 – 41 degrees c – admittedly the system has relatively light workloads running on it.

The only items not included which you might need are the aerials for WiFI and “pigtails” to connect these to the motherboard. I don’t use WiFi for the system and hence not an issue for me.

    Highly recommended.

    Very nice case.
Finally no fan noise, which is pretty loud now and then on the NUC.
Core temperature averages between 47 and 65 degrees celcius.
Installing the board was pretty easy.

    Una maravilla
